Two confirmed appointments, zero cars--Easterns completely wasted my time. I am extremely frustrated with the total lack of professionalism and communication at Easterns Automotive Group. I scheduled confirmed appointments to view a specific vehicle on two separate occasions. Both times, I showed up at the dealership only to be told the car was unavailable because they failed to transfer it to the lot in time.What makes this entirely unacceptable is that nobody bothered to call or text me beforehand to warn me the car wasn't there. They let me drive out to their lot twice for absolutely nothing. Easterns heavily promotes their shared inventory system, but they clearly cannot manage their logistics or respect their customers' time. If you do not want your time wasted by terrible communication and phantom inventory, look elsewhere. read more

I had to pick a star in order to post a comment. They didn't honor their 30 days or 1000 miles warranty. They were aware of the issues with our vehicle during test driving and every week afterwards for them to tell us after the 30 days that we have a warranty and to get it fix ourselves. Once brought to corporate attention they only gave us half the cost of repair to one of the issues. Let me indicate that the issues with the car wasn't covered under warranty. read more

I had been in contact with two separate sales team members over the course of a week regarding a specific car the dealership had. Originally, the car was listed as being at their headquarters in Virginia, but they offered to transfer the car closer to me, to their Frederick location. I confirmed with both sales team members that the car was in Frederick and let them know that I would be coming to the Frederick location that evening. They assured me that the car was there. When I arrived with my family, including wife and kids, the Frederick sales team had no idea about the car. Turns out the car was still in their corporate headquarters in Virginia and no one knew about the conversations I had with their sales team. What a waste of time. It took us 40 minutes, after work to get to the dealership only to find out we were lied to and deceived. We were ready to test drive and purchase the vehicle, but this dealership won't be getting us back in through their doors. If they lie about a car's location, what else do they lie to their customers about? Seems to be a childish sales tactic to get customers to their facility under false pretenses to try to sell them another car on the lot. read more

I attempted to purchase a car from Easterns in February 2025. I had agreed to a deal sheet online, and scheduled to come pick the car up. I requested a loan through my bank for the exact amount listed in the deal sheet, which included all tax/tag/title fees. When I arrived at the dealership, I agreed to let them try to find better financing, they were unable to match. So far, all fine. When I was presented with the final deal sheet, there were two additions that I did not agree to beforehand, a Lojack service subscription and a dealer warranty service. I requested that they be removed from the deal sheet, as I didn't want either of them, and they inflated the price This is where it gets shifty for me: They tried to tell me that the LoJack service fee was required to complete the purchase, and then tried to scare me into the warranty by lying about the factory warranty not being transferrable. I did research on both of these points, and found them both to be lies. We left, and they've since contacted me trying to make the deal happen. It turns out the LoJack is optional (imagine that). This is textbook consumer fraud, and I'd avoid this business at all costs. If they'll lie about this, I would also believe that they'll lie about the state of the vehicle service, and warranty. read more

I had a great experience at Easterns. I had been to multiple other dealerships and wasn't able to find a deal that worked for me. I don't have a lot of credit history which was making it difficult to finance a car. The people at Easterns worked for HOURS to get me into a nice reliable vehicle at a low monthly payment. if I could give this place a Zero star I would. I bought a car here little while ago and was not happy with the car, engine rattled, wheel vibrates at high speeds, the list goes on. I was told by the manager Mike, who seems very sketchy, that we could "trade up" but that was a lie. I call and apparently he is "no longer working there" sus to me. Then I try to use the "warranty" to get the things fixed and they are literally no help and making me pay a large deductible to fix what was already broken when we bought the car. I am a pediatric nurse working 60 plus hours aweek a veteran and a senior who was a victim of shady ? Illegal dealings by Eastern Automotive in Frederick, MD .They took back vehicle, still have my down-payment 2,500 and my trade in with UNSIGNED title.This was not due to a decline from finance company ,but because finance company during welcome and contract review made me aware of undisclosed to me charges on my contract. They advised if I didn't want services to tell dealership as not dependant on loan.I did and they refused to cancel or remove from contract ,and called me a liar threatened police and 3 large men came and took vehicle saying I had no right to car.I am going thru alot Ive had to rent a car to get to work. I am so stressed and still not understanding why this happened or how it was legal, as I had tentative approval from other finance companies as well and told them that if only they removed 4638 in services unneeded not told about. They refused to negotiate were rude and threatening and since they took vehicle Ive heard nothing from dealer or the customer service office that promised help.My ?about my trade went unaswered as did my request for refund, I have hired an attorney and filed several complaints but this is and has been one of the worse experiences of my life. I had the vehicle 9 days but have paid insurance on it for a month. read more

On March 24, 2021 I went in to Easterns Frederick location and signed the vehicle contract, also leaving a $1000 deposit. On 3/26/21 I picked up my vehicle and paid an additional $2770. On or about 3/30/21, I was checking Consumer Portfolio Recovery website just to verify when my first payment would be due, as the dealership indicated this would be my finance company. The website indicated the application package was "returned to dealer". I immediately contacted Easterns and was told not to worry as they would find me another financing company just give them some time. On the evening of April 5, 2021 a representative from Frederick's EASTERNS location called me and told me to come in the next day "early" because they needed me to sign new paperwork as they found me a new finance company. I then went into the dealership on April 6, 2021 and went to their customer service desk and explained why I was there. Michael Middledorf was present with another gentleman at the desk. He was rude and cold. He then asked for the keys to check the mileage so he could "document on the paperwork". 15 minutes later I was handed my house keys (as he had removed the key fob) and rudely asked "so how are you getting home?" I explained that this must be a mistake as I was told they had a lender and to come in to sign the paperwork. Mr. Middledorf rudely stated he does not know what, why or how I was told but they were taking back their vehicle. I asked for my deposit back and the gentleman said I had to sign paperwork to get my money back because he had to fax over to the corporate office. In reviewing the paperwork I noted it said it was a voluntary surrender. I informed him that this situation we are in was not a voluntary surrender. He said he knew but it was the only paperwork needed for the refund. I signed and then contacted my lawyer, who then contacted Easterns and they told him that the vehicle was taken back because they didn't have a loan holder as consumer portfolio denied me. Fast forward Eastern's Automobile Group called me about a week after taking back the car indicating they had my refund and took $1183 out of it for driving and mileage. I told them that was unacceptable as their contract states I was to be informed in writing within 4 days of them learning they couldn't finance me and I had 2 days after that to return and avoid charges. I said, however, you took the vehicle back the day after your call, although under false pretenses, so I am due a full refund. I spent weeks calling Easterns, being ignored, having to call from different numbers only to be forwarded to the Sterling location, the Baltimore location and the Laurel location, none of whom were able or willing to help. Today I received a call from Bick stating that Corporate would only give me a credit of the $1183 and was I still looking for a vehicle. This is ridiculous because for one, they took back a vehicle stating they could not finance me so how would this credit be useful. Secondly, I had no vehicle for almost 2 weeks and have to work, my job requires a vehicle to get to my client's home. So I had to secure another vehicle. Their contract clause speaks to how a failure to finance is to be handled and they are not going according to the contract or COMAR Regulation 15-311.3 which speaks to my receiving a full refund, not a credit. EASTERNS failed to notify me within the required timeframe and the way in which they took the vehicle back speaks to their deceptive practices. I do hope that Easterns Frederick location is not a reflection of how the other locations do business because they basically left me feeling victimized, they took my car and my money. I bought a vehicle from this location on 5/20, and low and behold the clutch craps out on me right on 340 on my way home, two days later. Want to know what they told me? There was nothing they could do other than give me an estimate at their shop or have me take the vehicle to a Jeep dealership. They won't fix or replace it. read more

This dealership is criminal. My son purchased a car drove it for 2 weeks than was told he couldn't get financing. Charged him for mileage that he put on the car. How is that possible if papers are signed and sealed it shouldn't matter if he drove to Alaska. When you drive a car off the lot usually in my world of purchasing vehicles if your not approved you wouldn't get the car. I've never bought a vehicle where you could drive it off lot with out financing. Eastern owes him 2500.00$ deposit which they refuse to return. !! question is why? If we new this is how they would do business We would never have given keys before refund in hand. They take advantage of people with less then perfect credit. The dealership knows the clientele aren't able to hire an attorney and fight for what is right. Stay away from the dealership. Spoke with other's as well as read reviews this seems to be what they do in the Frederick locations. So disappointed that people take advantage of less fortunate. Now my son is out out a large amount of money that will take many pay check's to recoup. Contacted everyone from Michael M. spoke with several times.Rude no help. 5/10/21. Then on 5/11/21 spoke with Marcus with no solution. Was told to contact Sam 05/12/21 which was told he look into. Called again spoke with Sam again 5/17/'21 I was told he would return refund. 5/20/21 spoke with Vic. 5/20/21 Still nothing. Many hours of phone calls and emails nothing but run around. The New Start Auto Loan Program is a joke! This program specializes in helping people in open or recently discharged Chapter 7 Bankruptcies. I started receiving the invitations for the program in the mail soon after my case was discharged, one invitation a month in the mail until you bite. When you get to the dealership they have you choose a car and drive it so you'll like it and want it. Then they get you approved for some crazy interest rate, which is fine because you expect that being bankrupt. The price of the vehicle was $20,000, which is not a lot of money compared to the price of cars today, and I wanted to be sure the price was something I could handle. But then they start asking for money, and not hundred but thousands! Where am I getting $3000 from? Remember I'm bankrupt. Then they ask you if you can get a co-signer, well if I had someone to back me maybe I wouldn't have filed Chapter 7! Just a big JOKE! Shame on you Easterns Automotive Group. Shame on you too James Jasper for calling me numerous times and lying to me about how the program works. "We can get you in a car today, you are already approved". Lies all lies! I've read other review about Mike M. and they are all true, he is a liar and rude. True they will do all they can to get you in a vehicle but that vehicle may not pass the required state inspection that's needed to register the vehicle. Mine didn't, although there was a huge sticker on the windshield claiming the vehicle was a Certified Used Vehicle. I notified the rude salesperson, Jeremiah Lee Jones, who feels that it's ok to treat customers rude and aggressively during the process of finalizing the sale. The salesperson became so obnoxious that I ended up completing the last steps directly with the finance company. I made a formal complaint verbally with Sam whose supposed to be in charge of customer service and followed up with a written complaint via email. No resolution was offered in regards to the needed repairs to pass inspection however, Sam did apologize on behalf of the salesperson. I ended up covering the expenses of the needed repairs for the car to pass inspection myself. So you'll get a car but you'll also get a very unpleasant experience instead of a joyous memory and be prepared to come out of pocket early on for repairs so that the car will pass the inspection needed to have it registered. read more

Worst experience ever. Went in on 6:17/2020. Was greeted by Larry Brown. He was very nice. And very helpful. After speaking with him and filling out paperwork and a trip to my bank for some additional paperwork. I put down a $3000 down payment and went home with a beautiful 2019 Jeep Compass. I was very pleased with the experience when I got home. Fast forward to the following Monday. I received a call from the sales Manager who stated I needed to come in and resign a couple of papers so my handicapped son and I went to the dealership to take care of the paperwork. When we arrived we were meet by the manager who stated I needed another $2500 for the down payment. Long story short I didn't have any spare cash for the additional $2500 so after being given the run around for nearly 5hours they took back the car stating that the back turned down my loan. Keep in mind that we had signed a contact to include a payment plan the previous Wednesday after nearly z8 hrs at this dealership before I went home with the car. Interestingly the next day I got a call form the bank stating that the needed two more pieces of paperwork and that there was nothing in my file saying that my loan was turned down. I was told I would get my deposit back in 48 hours and now a week later I am still waiting. This place left me feeling like they were trying to extort more money out of a 61 year old veteran.
