If your looking good for basic immunizations and picking up flea and tick meds they are great...but my dog obviously had a UTI...I called was told to get a urine.. I'm a nurse..could not collect a urine..they told me stop in they would get one...great! I went in they took my dog on the grass for 5 minutes following her around with a ladel. No check of vitals no temp no looking for distention of her bladder. When they could not collect a urine for 5 minutes with the ladel..we were sent on our way on a Friday afternoon to "keep trying" . The dog could not pee was in distress and that was what I received. Thank God for a qualified vet elsewhere! Won't ever return. Lost my buisness of 3 dogs. read more

This place is filled with a bunch of crooks. We brought our puppy in for a stool sample and were talked into and essentially tricked into $750 worth of unnecessary tests, medicine and food. When we followed up with them, my girlfriend was met with nothing but un professionalism and rude responses. She was told that the manager would give her a call back and instead we received an email saying they are no longer going to see us as patients. This place is run like a used car dealership and would caution, especially new pet owners, anyone looking to bring their dog here. read more

Zero compassion. Will not work with you financially or adjust the "plan" that you believe is not needed for your pet. They just tell you to go else where if you don't like the plan (this is the front desk saying this). Never in my life have I been spoke to like this by a vet office! I won't be going back. We have been patients for years. This week You're front desk rejected us from a needed appointment. I was spoken to like I am stupid by your front desk who told me we could be seen but it will cost you $127 just to walk in the door. Apparently our dog was removed as a patient unbeknownst to us. It's not about the money, we would have paid it but your customer intake administrator was flippant, harsh and downright indignant. Come to find out we are not alone and know others who have had similar experience and have left for good. Thank god for the nice people at South Deerfield animal hospital. The worst vets office ever. Have had my cats taken care of there for years. I've called them numerous times in the past year and they are "ALWAYS" TOO BUSY OR BOOKED UP TO SEE MY PETS. So another trip to emergency with the walk in the door fee exceeding $100. I have been a 40 year client there and now I would't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

Understanding is exactly what they lack there. Poor service, poorly organized office and difficult to work with. Taking care of someone else's cat while owner was away for an extended time, they would not allow me access to records to assist in taking care of the cats health. Had a second opinion done later on their suggested oral surgery for the cat (one that first issue was settled by phone calls by owner), they would not let us return. They wouldn't give recommendations on alternative wet food for the cat that had been on script food scripted by them for after the cats oral surgery. I believe they lacked imagination and understanding of people's arrangements and did not put the animal's health first. Stupidity on their part will now lead to my never saying a good word about them, nor will the cat's owner. I highly recommend not using their office! read more

Due to where I live and the type of work I am in, it's difficult for me to really travel far and wide for quality medical assistance in regard to my pets. Don't get me wrong- I'd do anything for them. Fortunately, I stumbled upon a really solid lead right here in town. Growing up, my family used this spot exclusively for their veterinary services. I personally never had the best of experiences with the former owner, so I sought services elsewhere. To be completely honest, I found the former owner to be a bit laissez faire in regard to my concerns. Recently, a situation popped up where one of my cats had a fairly serious eye issue, and in a panic, I found the closest place to take him......this place (it was like 5:45 on a thursday...didn't want to drive out to an emergency clinic). I had heard some solid word-of-mouth regarding new owners of the practice and stuff from friends but didn't have a need at all to seek it out, but in this moment of concern, it was my only choice due to the distance. I was a little freaked out because of what was going on so perhaps I was a bit terse in my explanation of the issue to the office staff, but they were actually understanding of the issue and I received prompt service even as I was internally freaking the fuck out about my little man in his cat carrier. Long story short, I (and little man) were treated kindly and the issue was solved which was all I wanted. Had to deal with applying some eye ointment on him for awhile, but hey it is what it is. The doctor I think I saw the first time was Dr Losert who helped with the eye thing. Recently, my elderly mom needed her cat taken in for vax so I brought the kitty in here as well, again, because of the proximity. There was a different doctor on staff and she was pretty rad. This cat in question is usually a goddamned heathenistic veterinary terror (and she was) but they handled her properly and it was decently painless. I never want to have to go to the vet- Who would? That usually means a shitty day for me and my animals because something is wrong. But if I have to go, it's nice to know that there's a place in town which is solid and professional. I can't tell you how many clinics I've used over the past 10 or 15 years, but it's nice to know there's an ace in the hole here in town when I unfortunately have to go. I hope I don't have to go back for a long time. read more

I wanted to give Easthampton animal hospital one more try after being disappointed by them in the past. Unfortunately, they have disappointed me again. Dr Vaughn was impatient, frustrated, and rude when I tried to explain to her what my past experience was dealing with the same issue my cat was being seen for today. I also felt that she was trying to sell me things that my cat didn't need, like flea medication and antibiotics. My cat gets a seasonal allergic reaction every year and I've been able to get one simple cortisone injection that has cured her, basically immediately. For some reason, Easthampton animal hospital doesn't carry it. Another employee interrupted me repeatedly when I was trying to explain why I was confused by what the Dr. said. When I told her I don't appreciate being interrupted, she ignored me. When someone brought my cat to my car, and handed me the paperwork, she sarcastically said " You're welcome". That is not how you treat a customer. I'm now leaving feeling frustrated, not heard, and upset. Do better. read more

We had an emergency with our puppy and they got us in a few hours later. We got there on time and didn't have to wait. Puppy was diagnosed and sent home with meds. They did blood work and we got the results (a phone call) the next day. The staff was friendly and the bill was very reasonable. The only suggestion I would have for them is they should call you a few days after the visit to follow up on your pet's health. I only got the call to say his blood wasn't dirty. read more

I agree that they give very poor service, are poorly organized, and are difficult to work with. They also have no respect for you or your time. The check in and out procedure is bad as they do not let you come in. So you must call and let them know you are out in your car. Recently, my dog was there for a good portion of the day. When I called to say I was outside to pick her up, I was told that the doctor would need to speak with me about her condition, but she was doing an emergency procedure. 45 minutes and couple of calls later, I lost it and told them to bring my dog out now or I was leaving. They didn't give me my dog. So I left and went home. In the meantime, they called my husband who was out of town He was not able to talk with them at that time, and got kind of a run around from them as well. When I finally connected with the vets office again, I asked that they get the dog ready to be picked up and I would be there in about 10 minutes. When I got there I had to call again, but the dog was not ready and I still had to wait about 15 minutes outside. I had planned to pay with a check as I had done previously, but they would not accept my check, told me that was a one time deal and would not release the dog without payment! They finally contacted my husband again and he gave them his credit card over the phone. I told them that the Vet needs to have better business practices. The next day, the Vet called my husband to complain about we treated them! What? And that we should find another Vet! My husband told them he was already looking! Save yourself some agravation. Go elsewhere. I liked Dr. Hayden who retired. It's not good any more. read more

They lied and refused my dog car they are heartless and sad I switched over to Holyoke animal hospital she was amazing and was there more then they had ever had and they also over charged. i would never take any animal there ever again. read more

We have been going to EAH for 2years. Our dog got sick over Thanksgiving so I called on Friday for an appointment. They said the earliest appointment was Saturday. I asked if they could give her antibiotics and I would still keep the Saturday appointment. They couldn't do that but if I wanted to come wait in my truck they would try to fit her in. We waited about 2hours and they saw her. They gave her a shot and determined that she had an upset stomach. When I got the bill they charged me for a emergency non client office fee of 103.00. I called and asked why it was during their office hours and I was a client. They said it is considered an emergency because they did not have an appointment available. This says a lot about how they treat their customers. They obviously had time to see her because they did. If their focus was on the dog they would always make time for a appointment of a sick or injured animal. I feel that they took advantage of the situation and charged me a much higher fee. While we were waiting they asked me if she was spayed. THEY SPAYED HER. I Need to find a vet that puts the animals well being first! So disappointed I really liked Dr Losert but the rest of the staff not so much. They seem to lack empathy. A sick animal is like a sick baby you will do anything to make them feel better. read more

I'm very sad to be leaving EAH as a client because its front desk staff is really so lovely, but Dr. Hayden himself is not the vet for you if you're interested in a compassionate or helpful experience. Came to him the other day with a simple question (after being his client for over a year), and was condescended to so inappropriately that I left the office in tears. I will miss the warm smiles that greeted me at EAH, but am now on the search for a vet who will treat me like a human being. read more

I was very pleased with Dr. Hayden and his staff at Easthampton Animal Hospital. I was able to make an appointment on the same day, and Dr. Hayden was on time to see my cat. He thoroughly examined my cat, made an accurate diagnosis, and gave me his recommendations. Dr. Hayden was VERY gentle with my cat. His staff were also really pleasant. We were a little nervous when Dr Hayden retired but can't express how happy and comfortable we are with Dr Losert, Dr Kenna and staff. As soon as I walked through the door they were so accommodating and friendly. Our English Bulldog was due for his neutering which isn't necessarily a good visit to the vet, but they treated him and us with respect and made us feel comfortable. We dropped our little guy off in the morning and as promised they called and updated us during the procedure and took the time to educate us on what to expect and what steps were needed to expedite a speedy recovery. When I went to pick Bentley up as much as the little fella went through he had to make his rounds to kiss and thank all the staff goodbye. Thank you for everything!!! If your looking for answers, you wont get any here. You will be rushed in, rushed out and given no answers whatsoever. You will receive a fat bill for the less than three minute exam you will receive, again...a guess as to what could be wrong (I could do that for free) and some meds for something that may or may not be needed. There is no compassion for your sick pet, its all about the $$.... next please. Dr Hayden has a poor manor about him and is less than gentle with the exam, his wife who runs the front office and is rude and unprofessional. This entire practice is a joke, if you love your pets don't bring them here. read more
