I have been going to the clinic for over ten years. First with my soul dog, Auggie, then my first cat Spirit. Years later following with my cat Tahini and dog Dahlia. From the beginning, the staff, front desk and her technicians, have been kind and helpful. Dr. Owen has bed side manners that most veterinarians do not have (I speak from working in the field for 13 years). Her kindness and empathy in hard situations is very appreciated. While I have only had one visit with Dr. Carrington, he displayed the same outstanding characteristics as Dr. Owen and the rest of the staff. There is a male technician my animals and I usually have. I am not sure what his name is but he is always amazing with my pets and with me as well. It is family owned which is an anomaly now-a-days. The cost of the services are reasonable. I drive half an hour to bring my pets there, not just because it is cost effective, but because the overall experience, especially during the times we all dread, are nothing short of amazing. read more

This vet has to be the most caring and sensitive to pets needs I have ever had the privilege to take my pets to. They have an incredibly qualified staff that goes out of their way to make not only my pets comfortable but me as well. This was not only my experience but the people who referred me had nothing but raving reviews for this wonderful place. When my youngest dog was neutered, they were fantastic, they took all my calls and put all my fears to rest. They let me visit before he could come home, which was something no other place has done with any other animal I have had. They are also very reasonable priced. They took a voucher I had for neutering from a program that helped to lower the price of fixing your animal if you were having financial difficulties. At the time my husband had just gotten laid off. I can't say enough good things about this veterinarian, at the moment they are involved in a rabies vaccination clinic at the Hatfield Fire Station that costs $12! I can only say, BRAVO, BRAVO! It's a little out of the way, but my canine companions are more than worth it. They give us endless unconditional love and I can't imagine giving them anything other than the best I can. SO UNPROFESSIONAL - beware! This office cares more about its pride than taking care of pets. The office is unresponsive to emails for weeks. In other negative reviews (many that have been removed) they are accused of refusing to prescribe medications and dismissing patients after receiving negative feedback. The vet recommended expensive and intrusive tests and charged me for things that I was not aware were being done to my pet. When I tried to question them on it, they kept my pet hostage inside the office until I paid. Then they refused to respond to my emails. Shame on you, north king animal clinic. read more

I really like Dr. Owen and her staff. They all make a very big deal out of my girl and I appreciate the way that they check in on her if she needs to be seen. They treat my dog like she's their favorite animal and my pup usually responds in kind. She obediently gets weighed in and heads right to the exam room. I called in the morning, sent photos via email as requested and did not hear back. I finally called again late afternoon, and was told they didn't have an appointment for eleven days, and would not give advice or meds to give the poor dog some relief from the itching. After consulting with another vet, we were advised to contact North King Animal Clinic and ask to see if they would prescribe my now very sick dog some antibiotics in order to give him a fighting chance at survival. The Clinic refused, citing that they no longer felt comfortable continuing care because I had expressed that I felt extra testing was frivolous during a check in call they made. I later found out it was because they were upset about my previous Yelp review. That's not only scary, but is demonstrative of their lack of caring. Because of this, I may very well have lost my best furry friend having a fighting chance at survival using common sense methods (i.e. having an antibiotic prescribed and administered due to signs of infection), if not for the kind and common sense care of another vet. That vet immediately provided him with antibiotics and an IV which saved his life. My advice? Stay far, far away. They put their own pride above the needs of their patients and their caretakers. If anything is a red flag, this is it. read more

I have been so disappointed with the care that I have received from Dr. Owen. We brought our new puppy to the clinic 1 year and a half ago and I have found Dr. Owen to be very reactive and not at all proactive when it comes to dog care. My pup has had several issues while in her care. Three bouts of vomiting and diarrhea (one that brought my pup to the emergency room), eye issues, false pregnancy, post surgery issues etc. I have not felt, informed, supported, or guided by Dr. Owen along this journey of caring for our dog. She has been defensive when I have addressed my need for more help. I have spent so much money on my dog and it feels that the money is all she really cares about as she is quick to prescribe medication and tests but wont take the time to discuss what is going on with Luka. She also appears to be unable to navigate the technology needed to be fully prepared for the visit or for questions that come up. It has been extremely unpleasant to work with her. If you have any issues with your animal that need care, attention, or patience, I would recommend that you seek care from another vet. read more

I have been going to this veterinary practice for years since I adopted a two year old very traumatized rescue dog. Other practices refused to even cut her nails because she became so panicky they were afraid the stress would kill her. After two visits to this practice she calmly tolerated every procedure (without any premedication). In December 2015 while performing a routine anal gland expression the tech found a small anal lump that could have been easily missed. It turned out to be cancer and because it was found early, she is now cancer free. They make every owner feel their pet is the best. They have talked me out of testing that wasn't crucial to diagnosing a symptom. Every staff person there treats animals and their owners with love and respect. read more

They have been my veterinarian for several years, through nearly a dozen cats and 3 dogs, and we've been shown the greatest of care and compassion by everyone in this practice - from the doctor to the vet techs to the front office personnel. They always run on time and manage to work me into their schedule any time I've needed to bring someone in on short notice. Several years ago, I had to have two of my cats put down within 48 hours of each other; the genuine empathy and support shown me by Dr. Owen and her staff during this difficult time left me speechless. The reception and tech staff are very friendly and helpful, however Dr. Owen is abrasive and does not have a good bedside manner. She always seems angry and barely touches the animals. I would never recommend anyone visit this clinic even if it was an emergency. I think she has been doing this too long and needs to retire. read more

The wait was short and the staff was friendly - two things that are a must when choosing a vet for my animals. They handled my rabbit carefully and affectionately, which put her at ease. I personally had the worst experience here that I have ever had with a vet. I could never in good conscience recommend it. I have also talked to numerous other people who all say they stopped going here. I even tried to contact them to discuss the issues and they wouldn't respond. Took our dog in twice to check on sore leg. Was given expensive salve to treat it. Finally noticed, ourselves, that dog had porcupine quills in leg which was causing problem. Had them removed, by another vet. read more
