Do not use this place if you're in a hurry. My van was at Eastside Autoworks for SIX months. I dropped it off in early March and picked it up mid August. They knew I wasn't in a hurry and they took advantage of my patience because hey, we're all struggling with covid-19. I took my 2002 VW Eurovan in to fix it up before I put it on the market. They gave me an estimate on their recommendations hat would cover a variety of basic maintenance issues in addition to my own list of known problems. One of those recommendations was replacing the front brakes. The only problem with the brakes is I had them done in December of 2019. Oh I have so many questions about this! I gave the potential buyer of my van permission to call Glen and talk to her about the work they recently completed. He managed to torpedo the sale by telling her a long list of MUST do repairs before she took it on a road trip. These repairs added up to over $12K. Some of this work I would have done myself if he had recommended them to me earlier. I mean that IS why I brought the car in, to take care of these issues before I sold it. So who is Glen jerking around? In addition to scarring her off with the long list of repairs still to be made, he tried to sell her a lot of van conversion upgrades. Pretty sure Glen is only interested in maximizing his bottom line no matter what the cost to his customer. Also one last note, don't bother calling him unless you have 30-40 minutes to waste. After their "free" evaluation that came with my first expensive oil change with them they noted lots of issues which felt like "upselling". I asked them to review the car prior to going on a car trip a few months later (a couple of weeks ago) and among other matters said I had a cracked transmission mount. I had them change it along with lower ball joints. Upon return from the shop the car vibrated considerably more upon acceleration. On the trip my power steering went out (while my wife was driving). In CA. I found a shop that put my Eurovan on a lift and showed me that the engine mounts had failed and the engine was resting on the power steering line which had worn through on this trip-- that was what caused the increased vibration. With the engine mounts replaced no vibration. I called Eastside and sent an email two weeks ago when I returned and Got No Response. Some other issues have appeared as well. I am so impacted by them and their work that this is the first time I have been able to write this. I had the vehicle inspected and serviced several times prior to needing to change repair shops (the shop was sold) and going to them and no one noticed most of the "issues" they found. They of course explained this because they are "experts". I so regret the recommendation I had to go to them. read more

My daughter took her car to this shop because it kept slowing down when it reached 60MPH. Went back in today. To check on her car's status. The mechanics didn't fix it, couldn't tell her what was wrong and charged $300. She just picked it up from the place and on the way back her car continued to act strangely but now if she stopped at a stop light, her car just straight up dies. She is able to turn it back on but that was NOT an issue before! The original mechanics said to possibly change a valve or spark plug of some kind but that was basically all they could report back. They said they tried to drive her car on the freeway to replicate the issue in order for them to test it and they said both times they were unable to replicate the issue and the car drove just fine. I have a really hard time believing this, especially considering that right after she left the shop and drove back to Seattle it happened again with the new issue of her car now dying. Either these are incompetent mechanics or they took advantage of a young woman (or both!). If you are a woman, don't bother getting your car fixed there! read more

I brought my Subaru into Eastside Autoworks for an alignment on a friday afternoon, because I was going to drive the car on the race track the next day. They promptly got the car into the shop and performed the alignment while I waited. The technician Tyler was friendly and knowledgeable. Natasha gave me a very fair price for the alignment. The owner of the shop, Glen, drove my Subaru after it was complete, just to make sure it would drive perfectly on the track. STAY AWAY at all costs, or it will cost you a fortune. Very similar experience to KP Gs review on 10/18/13. Normally I have had decent service here, but recently took my BMW here because the transmission was acting up. After charging me $1000 to replace a $65 plug and update some software, the owner told me they don't actually work on transmissions, and that maybe the software updates would fix the problem once the car got used to my driving style again. So I took it to a shop that actually knows what they're doing, and they diagnosed the problem immediately. All the work that Eastside Autoworks did had to be done again, except for the $65 plug, so I'm out almost $1000 because Eastside Autoworks didn't tell me from the beginning that they don't actually work on transmission problems. read more

Had a GREAT experience with Glenn and his team of professionals at Eastside Autoworks. My wife and I took in her high mileage Tucson for an alignment, brake work and oil change. Glenn's team delivered, completing all of the maintenance on time which is very important to my wife and I as we rely heavily on our cars. More importantly, the work was completed at the rate quoted, which was very reasonable. In addition to the work completed, Glenn collected the Tucson's maintenance records available from other services found on the Internet, and helped us put together a plan for future preventative maintenance. Although the car is high mileage, it has been well cared for and we expect to keep it a few more years. I would not hesitate to recommend Eastside to anyone and will be returning there myself in the months ahead! read more

Obligatory "I've never Yelped until this". Stay away from Eastside Autoworks. They were disingenuous (and incompetent) from the beginning. Long-story short: -Truck was in their shop for TEN weeks for a repair that should have taken a fifth of the time (they didn't even attempt to work on it for weeks). Very inconvenient considering this was my daily driver. - I get the truck back finally, and it breaks down the very next day due to their negligence (they failed to hook wiring up correctly). - After that, the truck worked for roughly 2 months before it had starter issues. It then took them TWO weeks to replace the starter. - When I came back to the office to pick it up after the second trip, Glenn walked me out to the truck personally to show me how great of a job they did and start it up for me. Guess what - IT DIDN'T START. His embarrassment was palpable. It turned out to be an issue with the battery cables. I can't help but feel that the $500 starter repair wasn't needed. All I wanted was an honest assessment of the vehicle so that I could make an informed decision in whether or not I'd repair it. They strung me along and managed to get quite a bit of money out of me. Perhaps it's my fault for putting up with it. read more

Glenn talks out of both sides of his mouth; he's not ethical or straight forward. I would never bring any car to Eastside Autoworks. I used Eastside Autoworks during summer 2012. They fixed a number of things including many leaks. I did not have a great experience with them, and decided to resume service with Honda of Bellevue. I recently noticed that my car was leaking fluids again. I went to Honda for diagnosis of the leaks, along with some delayed repair work I needed. Honda determined where the leaks were coming from. All leaks were ones that Eastside Autoworks had fixed only 4 months ago. With the leaks around the radiator hoses, Honda said the clamps were tightened too tightly and were literally cutting into the hoses. Those hoses and clamps were newly replaced by Eastside Autoworks 4 months ago. So were the VTEC solenoid gasket and distributor base O-ring. I called Eastside Autoworks and spoke to Glenn. He would not refund any money. He insisted that his shop needed to do any warranty work. And Eastside Autoworks would determine whether the hoses needed to be replaced. He said that he could get the car from Honda of Bellevue and do the work today in his shop (the time of the phone call was around 11am). I said that before I released the car to him, I wanted to make sure that all the parts were available and that the car would get done today, because prior services promised the same day were not completed as such. Glenn back-pedaled(during the same conversation!!), saying that it was already 11am, not 8am, and the best they would do is "try" to get the car done today. I said I would not give him my car unless he could promise a time when it would be finished. After trying to find time to leave my car for a long enough period of time, he said that maybe we're looking at getting some alternate transportation for me. [no indication of who pays for it] I had to take my car in a few days prior to the actual appointment date to fix the issues. Glenn wouldn't give me in writing a confirmation of fixing the warranty work at no cost, and getting a loaner car at no cost. Instead he wrote on his business card "Tuesday 23" and "loaner car". I took my car in at 9am on the 23rd, and tried to confirm that my car would be ready today. Glenn again was non-committal about the answer. He said they would do their best but would not promise the same day. The work is not extensive: replace 2 hoses and 4 clamps, and replace lost fluid; replace the damaged solenoid gasket and o-ring. This shouldn't take a full day to complete. I asked when I should expect a call. Glenn said around 3pm. I did not get a call around 3pm. I called at 3:10pm to check on status. Glenn said that they were not done. They need to get the car up on the lift to finish. That won't happen till around 5pm. Once on the lift, Glenn said it will take about 30 minutes to replace the parts and see if still leaks. He will call at that point as to whether I can get my car today. Glenn said I'd get a call in enough time for me to get to the shop before it closed at 6pm. I called the shop at 5:37pm to find out status. I did not receive a call from Glenn. I live at least 15 minutes away. It took Glenn a few minutes to find out the status of my car. The work was completed. They still need to drive it to make sure that it looks ok after driving. I got the distinct impression from Glenn that the tech was going to leave then to test drive. Glenn will call me with the assessment after they drive my car. I called back at 6:07pm and got the answering machine. No one called back. At 6:14pm I called Glenn's cell phone. He answered and told me that my car was still out being driven. It takes half an hour to test drive a car?? I don't think so. Glenn's answer to everything is "clocks sure move fast, don't they?" when I said it had been more than a half hour since the last phone call. And "we're just doing the best we can." And "It's only a car." And "The work done on your car is the same as other Hondas we work on, even including our own Hondas." These are all excuses for poor service. I missed my opportunity to go to the gym, and I may miss my chance to take a walk. For sure the walk will be in the dark, if I get out. Glenn called me at 6:15pm and said the car was fine & ready. I picked up my car. The car had been driven only 2 miles. Clearly when Glenn and I spoke at 5:37pm, the car was NOT about to be taken on a test drive. It does not take 35 minutes to drive 2 miles. By the time I got home, it was too late to go walking. I waited around all day, curtailing my activities, waiting for Eastside Autoworks. I asked Honda's service dept how long it would take to fix the same items. Honda would be able to fix them in 4-5 hours. Not the 9 hours that Eastside Autoworks had my car. With no assurance that it would be done the same day. read more

I've my car checked for timing chain, motor mount, etc at Eastside autoworks on 12/4-7 2016. Its ended up that I'm not moving forward to fix all problem due to the high cost involved vs mileage/age of the vehicle. I've paid the inspection fee and obtained a report instead. The biggest disappointment is that stuff in my car got STOLEN and the center console was ripped off. It looks like someone was trying to open the center console and look for valuables but did not know how to open and ripped off the hinge of the center console. My car camera recorder was stolen with the power adapator was left over with a ripped connect end. The camera worth only $16.67 and the SD card in the camera worth $10. The funniest thing is that the portable GPS in the center console was not stolen?? Again, may be someone couldn't open the center console. I've filed the instance verbally to the local police department and in both verbal and written format to Eastside Autoworks but NOT FEEDBACK NOR ANY FOLLOW UP EMAIL/CALL! I feel that they don't care at all... Also there is definitely a problem with their process and security. When I pickup the car on Monday 12/7 ~5:00pm), the front desk (Natasha) cannot find the key of the car. After a couple minutes of asked around, she has discovered that the key is actually IN THE CAR and of course the car was unlocked?? I was very shock of the poor sense of security and workflow (to leave the key in the car unattended??). I truly own some of the responsibility as I have left an inexpensive device which looks expensive in the car which may bring attention to someone. I've asked them to check their 24 hours security camera if they find anything but again no feedback. read more

I left the lights on in my car and totally drained my battery. I called AAA and they tried to jump me, but suggested I needed to go to a shop to get the battery recharged. I went to Eastside Autoworks because they are close to where I work. I had no appt, but they courteously took my car and charged my battery for NO CHARGE. I was so impressed by this service...I will definitely go there again for work on my car. read more

I had been going to Glen and Eastside Autoworks for the past 3 years and usually felt pretty good about the work done when I left. Prices were maybe slightly high, but it is Bellevue so there is a slight premium. Unfortunately I will not be able to go back there because my last experience left such a bad taste in my mouth. I had had my car towed there when I had a coolant leak and Glen explained that it was a water pump that needed to be replaced, ok, lefts fix it. I picked the car up last Thursday drove it home. I noticed some coolant on the floor of my garage, early this week, and thought that is not good. Thursday the radiator light comes on again and I took it in. Get a call from Jennifer; and find out me expansion tank is cracked. I tell her I am a bit disappointed to hear that considering the car was in there under a week ago for the same issue. She explains that this is a new problem. I explained that I just do not believe that and the way see it one of four things happened: 1) They charged me $1K to fix something that was not broken last week 2) This broke when they were putting the coolant system back together 3) They did a poor job doing the initial diagnosis when they were troubleshooting and because of that rather than replacing a $90 part when they had the system taken apart I have to pay another $200 in labor and $30 in coolant 4) This broke under a week later when less than 100 miles were put on the car. I just do not think it was number four so I cannot do business with them because I feel like I was taken. read more

They not only did a great job on the mechanical things but also facilitated the body work with the shop next store. Everything turned out great. I consider myself knowledgeable about cars and not only did they keep me informed of what was going on but helped me navigate the insurance process and even helped get my rental car coverage extended.
