My partner and I recently moved into a home after living in an apartment for years. This is our first time living in a bigger space and with it comes its challenges. We quickly discovered an ant infestation, carpet beetles, and spiders. The ant infestation was definitely the most worrisome and our largest issue as they were everywhere. Our home is 3 floors and each level was crawling with ants. It was bad enough where we spent a weekend in an airbnb while waiting for the bait we set to work. After trying to fight the ants on our own, I finally resolved to call an exterminator. After looking around on the internet I found Eastside Exterminators. They were affordable and had good reviews. When Michael showed up to our home, he was shocked. He literally covered his mouth in awe at how many different methods we were using to address these ants. We had been using Advion, Optigard, Diatomaceous Earth, Ortho Spray, Terro, and granular bait as well. Michael informed me that these methods were actually encouraging the ants to fracture and make additional colonies. He advised me to discontinue our baits and let the professional work. He baited our baseboards, sprayed our perimeters, and also swept for spiders. I asked Michael to send me a service summary with everything he used. Some of the products were the same as what we had been using but I realized that when you pay for this service, you are paying for expertise. Michael knew how to apply the bait, and where. One thing I was disappointed with was that the other pests I had complained about (carpet beetles and spiders) were not addressed in that initial visit. I followed up with Michael via text a couple weeks later as we were continuing to see pests (although the ants had definitely decreased). He came out for free and identified an additional traffic point the ants were using that was missed the first time. He also swept for spiders again and identified a section of the house riddled with spider eggs. He also spotted a wasp nest and took care of that for us. I'm glad he was able to come out for the follow-up visit. I'm sure I was being annoying not seeing results so soon after dealing with the ants for so long, but at the end of the day, Michael addressed my pest problem and did so with a positive attitude and confidence. We have been really impressed with the professionalism of this company even in spite of the pretty disappointing news they had to give us! After closing on our new home and being advised to skip the inspection due to multiple high offers, we started moving in and immediately noticed rodent signs. Eastside fit us into the schedule right away to come do an exterminator inspection and estimate. Jacob arrived early, was very professional, and immediately set to work. After he'd finished he let us know he'd put together a report and be back in a bit. When he was still in his car after about 45 mins we knew it wasn't going to be good but he did a great job of explaining everything clearly as he went through his detailed report including images. The pictures confirmed what we'd already suspected, that we had more than a few mice to deal with. While the price tag was unpleasant, the blow was softened by the guarantee on their work, the simplicity of getting the holes patched up, the mice caught and the insulation replaced all by one company, and how well they facilitated the appointments for us. We had a lot going on with the new move and really appreciated that they took care of everything for us and didn't add more to our already full plates. Even though Jacob was steller at answering all our questions during the initial consultation, I thought of more later and his emails back were perfectly detailed, polite and respectful, and again utterlyprofessionalin every way. Each visit went as expected and every crew we interacted with were great.
