    Breakfast room. Continental.

We have been staying here at least once a year for years. The location is so quiet compared to all the other hotels clustered along the 395. I like one story places where you park right outside your door. Plus, on this visit, our room was freshly painted, had new curtains, and the bathroom had an updated sink and shower surround. Whiskey Creek, serving the best cocktails and food in town, is only a short walk away. The lawn area has chairs and tables overlooking the park next door.

I have stayed here every time that I've come to Bishop because the owners Harry and Romalia have been incredibly friendly to us throughout the years. The Elms Motel is nothing flashy. I don't need that when I stay here in Bishop. I need comfortable. That is exactly what I've gotten every time. Their beds are not too hard or soft. Their bathrooms are functional. They have cable, a coffeemaker in every room, free Wi-Fi, a continental breakfast, an outdoor sitting area, and a fish cleaning station. The Elms Motel backs up against the park next door and is walking distance to many great restaurants in Bishop. I don't know if this has anything to do with this review, but this motel is located on a street that has beautiful, tall, and old trees that sway and sound so beautiful in the wind. I will keep coming back every year.

    Eastern Sierras

This is prime location for exploring Mammoth, the White Mountains, Hot Springs, and the Eastern Sierras. Everything is within a 45 minute drive. The property has recently been remodeled and the rooms are quiet, clean and cozy. The best part of our stay is how kind the property owners are. Extremely friendly and accommodating. There are restaurants and a bar within walking distance in Bishop from the Elms and a beautiful park in their backyard. We will be back! Thank you for the awesome stay!

We arrived in town at 7 PM on a Friday looking for last-minute, pet friendly lodging. After seeing a few dire motels, we debated driving through the night home, but thankfully we stumbled upon Wayfinder. The walk in rates are reasonable given what you get. A great bar and dinner area with a super comfy and cozy lobby, delicious free buffet breakfast, super cozy beds, a beautiful creek with chairs and outdoor seating, gardens with secluded benches, a pool, a hot tub, and free chocolate chip cookies. It was super easy to eat outside with our dog and still enjoy the amenities. They also gave us a treat bag upon checkin which was very sweet. I'm not sure what else you could hope for in a small mountain town, but I'd definitely return!

I had a reservation, but I never even set foot on the property…read more Our upcoming trip to the area was disrupted by the Rock Fire in Inyo County, forcing us to change our travel plans. Before booking, travelers should understand that Wayfinder appears to enforce its cancellation policy even when a major wildfire prevents the original trip from taking place. The hotel offered to convert my one night reservation into a credit, but only if I selected and confirmed new travel dates within 48 hours. In my view, that is not a reasonable accommodation. When travel is unexpectedly disrupted by a natural disaster, it can take weeks or months to determine when a replacement trip will be possible. A more customer-friendly approach would be to issue a credit valid for 6-12 months and allow guests to book new dates when their plans are finalized. We also discussed moving the reservation forward by one night to accommodate our revised itinerary. While I understand that weekend rates are higher, the additional cost would have been several hundred dollars, making that option impractical. As a result, I lost the cost of one night's stay and will not be booking with Wayfinder in the future. This was my first experience with the company, and unfortunately it left me with the impression that there is little flexibility for guests facing extraordinary circumstances beyond their control. Management already has my contact information. I hope you'll reconsider and issue a credit that can be used within the next year, rather than requiring a new reservation to be booked within 48 hours.

The bathroom in room #8 was super small and had a tiny sink. Had a kitchen which was nice with a full size fridge. Comfy mattress. Decent wifi speed when I did a speedtest but decided to stick with my TMobile cellular data and had good signal. Basic Cable TV but not HD so picture was fuzzy. Parking is right outside your unit. Have to back out of your space but wasn't too bad. It was 100 degrees in town but once I set the AC to 68 degrees, I was able to get cool in the room. Adriana at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is two short blocks from Hwy 395 so very quiet. Walking distance to several restaurants. Overall, it was fine for a solo fishing trip.

It went on for several hours until almost 11 PM. When it happened again the second night, I contacted to front office to complain to the owner. To my surprise, I learned that the dogs were his! I listened politely as he told me he had no idea the dogs could be heard in other rooms, and that I shouldn't worry about them because they were fine. Didn't believe either of those claims. But I didn't hear the dogs again after that.

The first impression wasn't great. The front doors to the lobby were dirty, and the entryway leading to our room smelled strongly of urine. There was also dried dog waste that appeared to have been there for some time. Our room had ants, which was disappointing, especially considering the nightly rate of $232. The breakfast was also below expectations. The eggs were runny, the sausage was overcooked, and the coffee was some of the worst we've had during our trip. The biggest disappointment was the customer service. Ben at the front desk was rude and condescending, which made an already disappointing stay even worse. After staying at numerous Best Western properties on this trip, we know the level of quality the brand is capable of. Unfortunately, this location fell far short of those standards. At $232 a night, we expected a much cleaner property, better customer service, and a more enjoyable experience. We would not choose to stay here again.Do Not Recommend!!

I'm surprised it was rated an overall 3 star, it is definitely 2 star category. The breakfast was fine though like others in the comments stated - the eggs were terrible. The waffle was good and the yogurt with toppings. Coffee was fine. The pro and con was that the AC. It keeps the room cool but is so damn loud which is nice because you also can't hear your neighbors having sex. The one thing this hotel needs to work on. As they allow dogs, which is great, please create a place for them to pee and poop. As it is now, you have to walk them where the cars are parked and all there is - is dirt and rocks and very little space for them to do their business. How about take a small portion of the parking lot and create an enclosure with fake grass that can be hosed down and have little poop bags? Because the hotel does such a poor job of no grass for the dogs, dogs poop along the area and leave the poop. This should really be addressed. It's frustrating.

This was our first time and we had our dog so finding a pet friendly hotel that's decent, is always a challenge. This one checked all the boxes. It's close to the bakery and walking distance to other fast food and eateries. Parking can be tricky if you get there too late. But there were more spaces on the other side that we didn't know about until we walked our dog. There's also a bowling alley nearby. We only stayed for one night and it really was more like a 12- hour stay but it was enough to get rested, fed and our room was comfortable. The breakfast selection was pretty well stocked. Pros: The entrance is nice. I can tell they upgraded it recently. Looks clean and I can see the effort made to make it nice. They have water and ice in the lobby, which is nice. The fitness room is decent for a motel. Breakfast isn't much but it's filling. It works. It's toast, cereal, bagels, egg whites, oatmeal, yogurt, bananas, apples, milk, peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese and coffee. It's not gourmet but it works. The breakfast place is nice, clean and upgraded. I do feel like they try their best to make this place comfortable. The effort shows. I love that the entrance to the rooms is indoors. It's walking distance to restaurants and the park. I'm assuming this is the downtown. I had a dog and they were very friendly and accommodating. I love that they have a bathtub. I have toddlers so it was a nice way to bathe them. Plenty of parking. Cons: One of the major disappointments for me is the wifi. It's extremely slow. This is a big major point for me because I have to work on my laptop and when videos aren't loading it's difficult to work. The doors look old and outdated. It just lowers the aesthetic. There are no elevators, which I already knew. I can overlook that though, my main compliant is the WiFi, especially for the price.
