They charged us for an inspection that was clearly not done properly, pushed us to replace perfectly functional parts at nearly 10 times the market price, and literally laughed in my face while telling me my HVAC system was "shitty" and needed to be replaced. Three days later, the system had another issue because they completely failed to identify the actual problem. We were then pushed yet again toward more interventions and more part replacements by a manager who had never even seen the HVAC system himself and could only give vague explanations about what the issue "could" be. When I later requested my file, pictures, and full documentation from the visit, nothing was ever sent. No transparency whatsoever. We finally contacted another amazing company ALTITUD BRO HVAC-- which I strongly recommend -- and unlike UHCPC, they actually inspected everything properly. They identified the issue immediately and charged us only $400 for something that probably would have cost us over $2,000 with UHCPC. What a joke. And the funniest part? They're apparently just as bad with plumbing. We worked with them in the past on another property and, after charging us over $20,000, not only were they unable to properly fix the issues, but they also damaged one of our showers. Matt Robledo, the owner, even told us he had to fire his plumber Dave because "he was not good" and promised us compensation or future repair credits. Of course, none of that ever happened. Once they take your money, they seem to forget your name very quickly.

2026 Update: One of the exterior irrigation pipes has cracked. As a result, the exposed conditions caused the pipe to fail in less than two years. The irrigation contractor will repair the damaged pipe; however, it is likely that other pipes replaced during the 2025 repairs will experience similar failures over time due to the use of the same unsuitable materials.

When I said as much they immediately said they could meet me at my price point which makes me wonder... Why the high quote to begin with? Where would that extra $3k have gone? The day of the install went okay. They took a few hours longer than they said they would which disrupted my workday, but fine - I can understand that. I was never sent photos of the condenser on the roof which I was promised - I had to ask a few times to get those. Our new HVAC worked well for a few weeks, then started randomly shutting off. During peak heat times. I'd come home from work to a boiling house. Our thermostat kept saying it was running too long with no change in temperature. I brought this up to my contact at the company - a director level guy - and he told me my thermostat was "trash" and it needed to be replaced. Me, knowing nothing about this stuff, went along and agreed to pay the $400+ for a new thermostat. It turns out that the actual issue was that the folx doing the installation wired the entire thing incorrectly. I was still charged full price for the thermostat/install and offered no apology. My old thermostat was better and easier to use. Fast forward a few months and I noticed our HVAC was leaking water. I called them in a panic as we were going out of town, it was the heat of summer, and I didn't want our cat to overheat. They were able to come out quickly (for a high fee) and told me the leaking was due to us not changing our filter frequently enough. I was again charged $400+ for this. It seemed weird to me that a dirty filter would cause leaking, but again... not my area of expertise. I took their advice and started changing our filter at the cadence recommended. Guess what? Still leaking. A LOT. This is definitely an HVAC issue, not a filter issue as our filters are pretty pristine. I've been trying to get in touch with my same contact (and others) for literal weeks and am being met with total silence. I want to talk to someone about this but it appears that professionalism isn't a value of Quality Home HVAC. Moral of the story? Absolutely go with a different company - I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

1 STAR -- A $49 OFFER TURNED INTO A $7,000+ INVOICE + FEES + DAMAGE…read more What began as a $49 air-duct cleaning offer resulted in an invoice for more than $7,000, financing fees, an A/C repair, damaged vents, and multiple unresolved problems. My home is new construction and primarily had a thin layer of construction dust and debris in the ductwork. The technician made the condition seem extremely urgent, and I felt pressured to make an expensive decision immediately instead of having time to research my options. I repeatedly told him I could not afford the recommended air-purification system and was willing to wait and pay cash later. Instead, I was encouraged to open a Synchrony Professional Services credit card and have everything installed that day. The financing was not adequately explained. I was not clearly informed beforehand of $600+ in fees, including $525.02 and $69 on my invoice plus a $29 Synchrony activation fee that pushed the card over its limit. I am also paying 8% interest. Promotional financing was not available for the initial transaction. Had I understood these costs, I would have waited and paid cash as I originally said I wanted to. The technician also told me the installed air-purification system would completely eliminate cooking odors traveling throughout my home. That has not been my experience. He told me I could get rid of the individual air purifiers I use in rooms for my infant and my two-year-old with asthma. I am not comfortable doing that, especially because I was promised before-and-after air-quality testing that never happened. I later found what appears to be a newer model with an installation kit at Home Depot for around $500. Had I not felt pressured to decide immediately, I could have researched the equipment, compared prices, and discussed installation with an electrician for a fraction of what I ultimately paid. After the cleaning, my one-year-old A/C would not turn back on. Apex could not return until later that afternoon on an approximately 90-degree day. With an infant in the home, I was not willing to wait without working A/C. I paid $200 for an independent HVAC technician to repair the problem after Apex left with the system not working. The cleanup was also unacceptable. I found nails, screws, and even broken glass around areas where vents had been removed. I had to clean underneath the vents and vacuum everything myself. With a two-year-old crawling and playing in these areas, this was extremely concerning. Three large return vents were damaged and warped from the way they were screwed back into place. Some vents were not cleaned at all. I specifically requested a duct-camera inspection, but the technician arrived without a duct camera and used his cell phone in select areas. I also requested before-and-after air-quality testing and received neither. After the cleaning, I began finding pieces of fiberglass insulation coming through the vents. I contacted customer service approximately three weeks ago, and these concerns remain unresolved. One of the charges pushed the Apex-financed credit card over its limit, yet I have essentially been told that the fee is my responsibility. This is particularly frustrating because I specifically said BEFORE agreeing to the system that I could not afford it and wanted to wait. I started with a $49 cleaning offer for construction dust in a new home. I ended up with a $7,000+ invoice, $600+ in financing-related fees, 8% interest, a $200 HVAC repair, three damaged return vents, missed vents, sharp debris left behind, no promised air-quality testing, no comprehensive duct-camera inspection, fiberglass coming through my vents, and an expensive system that has not performed as represented to me. The most frustrating part is that I was willing to wait. Had the complete financing costs been disclosed and had I been given time to research the equipment, I would have made a very different decision. Customers spending thousands of dollars deserve complete pricing and financing information before agreeing to the work, time to research their options without feeling pressured into an immediate purchase, and a home that is left clean and safe afterward. The fitting on the cooktop is for 10"x3.25" rectangular duct. They first told me it had to be 6" round because the square duct wouldn't have enough airflow. The rectangular duct actually would have more airflow area (I learned how to calculate area of both cylinders and rectangles in elementary school, maybe these guys don't.) This makes me think these guys are stupid. After my wife called back the front office to explain that there is actually more airflow from the rectangular duct, they called back and said grease would drop down and pool and that's why it has to be round duct. This makes me think they are liars for changing the story. Also these grease down vents have traps and filters. All this is to say even if they are stupid and liars, they are definitely lazy for not wanting to do the job. We should have known better after they charged $200 more than what the quote was for a simple plumbing job to hook up a new fridge and couldn't explain why it was more.

There was no hard sell just discussion of facts as well as the shortcoming relative to health and safety items that were not up to code. We ended up having Quality West replace our boiler, add an additional zone to the basement and install three thermostats, one for each floor. Rob and his expert team (Bob and "The Kid") did a wonderful job and performed the job in 2.5 days. They setup very efficiently and cleaned up well. Bob was very thorough in explaining the system and labeled all of pertinent components. The system functions as it should and was within our budget.
