Rob and his team came highly recommended, and I was impressed by his knowledge and the thorough job he did when giving me an estimate. I have an old house with a hydronic system that is complicated with all of the radiators throughout. I went with a different company that offered a cheaper fix, and I'm kicking myself because it's been a nightmare so far. They haven't been able to get all of my radiators to work, and they don't seem to have a clue. I am without hot water now, and they've been unable to fix that...now they want to have a "sit down meeting," which I suspect will be to tell me they want more $ or can't fix my radiators. Even after I told Rob, I went with another company, he gave me questions to ask and warned me to insist on certain things which helped me navigate the process with the competition. If I could do it all over again, I would hire Rob and Quality West because, just as he told me, there are a lot of companies that undercut price because they don't do the job right, and unfortunately, I ended up with one of them. read more

Gosh Rob, it's nice that you would finally respond. When you told me I had not paid you I called my contractor, he said you never submitted a bill and you never brought it up with me. In addition. I paid for every service call except one ( under warranty). You never resolved the problem with the sensor, that was defective, and you charged me for a filter that could be reused. They came out to do a fall tune-up. Turns out my furnace was inoperable and no tuning of anything occured. What he did do was charge me $99.00 to give me an estimate to replace it that was THREE THOUSAND dollars more that the other two companies that came out. I have been using Quality West Heating & Cooling for a number of years to have our boiler tuned up. Rob and his team did a great job maintaining our old, 51 year old boiler until it had to be replaced. There was no hard sell just discussion of facts as well as the shortcoming relative to health and safety items that were not up to code. We ended up having Quality West replace our boiler, add an additional zone to the basement and install three thermostats, one for each floor. Rob and his expert team (Bob and "The Kid") did a wonderful job and performed the job in 2.5 days. They setup very efficiently and cleaned up well. Bob was very thorough in explaining the system and labeled all of pertinent components. The system functions as it should and was within our budget. Quality West (especially Rob) did a fantastic job with our new boiler install. December 2023 we learned that our boiler was basically on its last leg, and were not confident it would make it through the winter. I had a company come in and do maintenance, and they basically said the boiler was almost dead. I got an estimate from that company that was insanely high. I had a second company come through also very high. Rob from Quality West came, did a thorough check of the current boiler, and was the only person to check all the baseboard heaters to really be accurate on the type of boiler we'd need to efficiently heat the whole house. He also quoted us the cheapest price for the install. If you've read it in the other reviews, no joke, Rob treats boiler install like a work of art. His team came in and completed the job in less than 2 days, placed a metal backing behind the boiler, maneuvered pipes and updated plumbing. The end item looks great and the boiler works great too. Not only did they install the wrong size unit for our home, they very rudely refused to honor the warranty when the unit stopped working. We were completely robbed by this company! My furnace went out and suddenly I found myself getting bids for a replacement. I don't make large purchases without a ton of analysis to ensure the right solution for the best price. I didn't just have a broken furnace I have air flow issues too as the rooms furthest away never get enough air. I didn't want to just replace I wanted to solve a 23-year-old problem. Rob was out the same day walking me through options and not over selling just giving me the facts and not pushy. His approach to resolving the air flow made sense and was very conservative as he proposed small low cost/no cost changes we could implement over time after a period of observation with the new system instead of hitting me up front with new dampers etc. up and making significant changes to the air flow. Rob clearly knew what he was talking about and has likely installed himself over the years as many systems as he has sold. There were three other comparable bids and none of them were even close to the value I was to receive from Quality West. These guys don't look at each install as just another job they take pride in their work, are extremely professional and even have some fun along the way. They were creative in their piping as I upgraded to a two-stage variable speed system that required PVC piping so the ascetics of the piping in and outside of the home mattered to me and they were conscious of that. I would much rather work with a company like these guys that are dependent on referrals instead of doing a bunch of advertising because for them customer satisfaction really matters. This is the reason for this long review as they deserve the recognition and I would highly recommend Rob and his team Bob and Dave. read more

I had tune-up and diagnostics done recently. I think the diagnostics part was fine. I was told that two thing may need replacement- the Capacitor and the Flame Sensor. The quote for the capacitor was $108 and the flame sensor got more complicated. I was told that the flame sensor cannot be individually replaced and that the whole pilot assembly must be replaced at a cost of $336. Well, the is a correct statement at all. the flame sensor CAN be individually replaced and the part cost $10-$12 online and up to $19 at places like Federal Heating Supplies. So this leads me to believe I was being mislead, at least to a certain degree. The quoted furnace replacement costs were on the higher end of places I know of but that's fine. I would not use Rheem/Ruud anymore anyway and that is what they deal in mostly. So all in all, I think this outfit is not for me (or maybe just the Tech) and overly focused on making money. After my research, pricing, and checking around, I would not recommend Quality West. I am reasonably sure I did not misunderstand what I was being told. read more

It was a pretty big project but they were so easy to work with from scheduling all the way through the installation. We chose Quality West because of the solid reviews we saw. And we were not disappointed. We were having some issues with our A/C unit. Don arrived on time, was professional and courteous and was able to diagnose the problem quickly - the motor needed to be replaced. Unfortunately the motor seemed louder than what we had in there before. I called Quality West back and they were willing to either fix it or replace the motor again for free. Don came back out, saw what was causing the noise and in short order all was well. Really impressed with everyone we interacted with and this will definitely who we use in the future; no question. Rob & his team replaced our furnace & AC and added a whole house humidifier for us this week. We were very impressed with Rob and his level of service from the beginning with the estimation process and through the install and clean up. A few notes that made Quality West stand out above the other companies that quoted the job: - We really liked that Rob took the time to do a load calculation based on our house square footage and windows/exposure to properly size the equipment rather than just making a general guess. - Rob explained all the different options and features and steered us away from 'overkill' features, while giving us a couple options at different price points to fit our budget. - Rob did a much better job explaining how the blower, AC, humidifier and thermostat system with multiple temperature probes are integrated and what the benefits are for efficiency and comfort. - We also appreciated that he did not use any high pressure sales techniques - he earned our business with his knowledge and clear explanations, quality equipment, as well as extremely fair pricing based on multiple quotes. The entire install was completed in one day, the team arrived on time and went above and beyond to protect our house from any dirt/damage. They made a new pad for the AC unit to sit farther away from the house (to meet code) and they even installed a moisture sensor/alarm for the humidifier. Rob took the time to teach us how to program the thermostat and made recommendations on settings. All in all, we were very pleased with the installation and are already enjoying our new system - our house is much more comfortable and the unit is so quiet! I requested quite a few quotes for my furnace/AC/Water Heater replacement project. After talking to all the contractors I went with Quality Heating and Cooling. Rob and his team were professional and took their time to do the job right. A lot of the contractors walked in a gave me a flat quote with an estimate on replacement without taking into account square footage of the house, number of windows, people in the house or ducting size. They went out of their way and even went through Colorado RENU certification so I could pay for the cost of the install. The price was reasonable and they made sure Xcel rebates were adequately submitted. I cannot say enough good things about their high quality of work. read more

QUALITY WEST HEATING & COOLING -- These guys are competent, but their labor appears to be $450 per hour. Two Fridays ago, the boiler for the hot water heat in my rental property went on the fritz. The boiler would ignite but would quit firing after 4-5 seconds. My tenant had called Quality West three months before when this had happened, so I called them myself. Josh answered the phone, looked up the record, quoted me a $99 service call and said he could get someone out there on Monday. Don arrived at 9AM on Monday morning and took about twenty minutes to diagnose the problem. He then explained to me how the boiler is on its last legs and should be replaced. (Admittedly, it is an old boiler.) Off the top of his head, he quoted about $11,000 to replace the unit. I said this was a rental property and that was not in the cards. He punched some stuff into his tablet and came up with an estimate of $1014 to get the unit running again, and because of its age, there would be no warranty on the work. I was shocked, but told him to go ahead since it was cold and had been all weekend. He completed the work within 60 minutes and presented me with a bill for $1064. When I challenged the extra $50, he told me that service calls on forced air units are $99, but calls on boilers are $149. He said Josh had misquoted the amount (even though Josh had been looking at the record of the last repair when I talked to him on Friday). Don would not budge on the $50, even though I had been misquoted. Don took my credit card. I asked for a detailed receipt. He confirmed my e-mail address and told me I should have the receipt right away. He then went on to tell me that a replacement system would be $13,000 to $17,000! I told him that I had just replaced the forced air system in my own home for $3400. He said the process was completely different, telling me that just the shipping of the unit from manufacturer to distributor cost $4000! He then proceeded to show me photos of a recent installation that included all new piping, an in-line water heater, along with the boiler itself. I reminded him again that this is a rental property. At that point he left. The e-mailed receipt never showed up. I ended up make three calls to the office over three days, before I got the receipt. They claimed they had the wrong address, even though I had confirmed it with three people, Josh, Don and Lynn. When it showed up, it contained no detail other than "replace universal ignition module" and an amount of $540 and "replace intermittent pilot assembly" and an amount of $375. So based on this information, I did some research. The price for a universal ignition module ranges from $81 to $101, with an average of $91. The price for a boiler pilot assembly ranges from $32 to $60, with an average of $46. So total parts appear to equal $137. With a 20% mark-up, that's a total of $164. If you subtract $164 from $1064, you're left with $900.00 in labor for about 1.75 hours of work. It's not often that I get taken, but Quality West is a firm I will NEVER use again. read more

I had Quality West Heating & Air conditioning out the other day because my air conditioner was not cooling and freezing up. After having two other companies tell me either I was low on refrigerant, dirty filter, or it was installed incorrectly, is when I called Quality West (after a recommendation from a friend). Joel was the Technician who came out. Joel tested my air conditioning and took the time to figure out the problem. Much to my surprise he found the problem. My "indoor coil" was plugged. Joel did not just tell me he showed me, he took the time to take the front panel off and look inside. Joel highly recommend having the coil cleaned. At first I was sceptical, but had him do the work anyway. After he was done and retested the air conditioning, I was surprised at how much more air flow was coming out and how much cooler it felt, even my upstairs was cooling down (yay!) and most of all it was not freezing up, Thanks Joel, I can literally sleep at night. I don't know about the other negitive review left the other day about Quality West and Joel, but it sounded more like a conspiracy theory. My experience was pleasent and I would recommend Quality West. read more

Rob and his team did an AC replacement for us today and I could not be happier for selecting them to do this. From the initial estimate meeting with Rob thru actual install I could not have been more pleased with the process and the team. Rob took time to educate me on what was important and was not pushing a sale. I appreciated learning more so I could make an informed decision after evaluating multiple estimates. Robs pricing was competitive but was not the cheapest and I was able to make an educated decision instead of a cost only decision. The install was scheduled and the crew arrived on time and did a great job. I appreciated the professionalism of everyone on the crew. Rob was here to oversee it all which I greatly appreciated. His crew was efficient and took extra care in making sure all of the floors were covered. I think my home was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. No corners were cut on any part of the install and services they performed. In fact they corrected errors and cut corners from the previous install. I highly recommend Rob and his firm for all of your HVAC needs. We will be using him for annual service and our furnace replacement when the time comes. read more

Wow! I was really impressed by the level of service I experienced from Rob at Quality West. I called them this morning to schedule a furnace tune-up and they had someone at my house that day. The technician, Rob, showed up at the time promised and got right to work. I had also asked them to provide a quote on a new electronic air filter and new furnace. After Rob had finished the tune up, he took me through the options for both a new filter and furnace. He had all the information and brochures on an iPad which made it easy to review and also was able to email me all the information. He did a good job explaining the differences to me and at my level and I didn't feel pressured at all for any particular item; he just laid out the facts. My furnace is old (1989) and inefficient and so it would be a ripe opportunity to suggest an unneeded repair but Rob let me know my furnace was in good shape other than being old and less-efficient. I am planning on getting a new furnace in the next year or so and will likely use these guys. If you are planning on using them, they have coupons on their web-site. read more

I used this company based on a referral from my realtor, which I should have known better. I don't know why we have such bad luck when it comes to home repair or home improvement companies, but our streak continues. Basically they over promised and under delivered! Too bad, I had high hopes since Rob said he wouldn't let us down like all the other companies we have dealt with in the past. We are going on almost two weeks of waiting for them to correct the issue that the city inspector found when checking their work. I understand you got your money, but have some integrity and finish the job to the standards that you promised you would. I was willing to overlook them scratching my floor all up, scratching my dryer and not cleaning up after themselves when they were finished, but I can only take so much. Take everything at face value and just know that they will say what you want to hear to get your money, but don't expect the same service after the check clears. read more

These guys are phenomenal! We used them to install AC and replace a boiler in our old house a few years ago and just used them again to replace our AC in our new house. They are friendly and honest. They always explain what is going on and your options for fixing the situation. Rob had all of our AC options on the iPad so we could compare what system we wanted to get. We got quotes from multiple places and they were the best in terms of price. They were able to schedule very quickly - within a few days to replace our broken AC. They were prompt - said they would be here at 830 am and were ringing our doorbell at 830 on the nose. Very courteous and respectful during the work and cleaned up after themselves! We had a new furnace installed a year ago and a new AC installed a few weeks ago. The "Quality" in their company name is first for a reason. The quality Rheem products they exclusively install, the quality service and their quality staff. Rob and his staff did both of our installs. The installs were done very cleanly and professionally. They cover and protect your floors where they walk and remove everything and clean up as nothing happened before they leave. Rob and his staff took all the time "I" needed to explain the process and technical questions related to my install. This is a company you can trust in your home and they will get the job done right and have you up and running in no time. Rob and his team worked very hard to get us the best deals on both units prior to installations and they handled our rebate processing with the power company for our high efficiency AC unit.
