Lately, scheduling visits and auto reminders disorganized with unclear communication. When mistakes happened, I calmly expressed frustration (no yelling, no cussing -- just a concerned pet parent trying to understand). Instead of listening or trying to make it right, they basically told me they didn't want to be my vet anymore. After years of trust and business, that's the response? Our pets deserve attentive care, and the humans paying for it deserve a little respect. I truly hope they improve how they treat long-time clients in the future.

For an animal "hospital" (or any place of business) to not have one in place is irresponsible. We almost missed our trip that day as we were dropping off our dog for boarding. With ZERO notice and no way to contact them, we were limited in options. When I called a few days later to talk to someone about my upcoming boarding reservations, this lady gave me no indication that they learned anything from this exercise. She wasn't overly apologetic about the circumstances we were put in, either. Instead she told me they sent a message in facebook (which I don't have) and an email to everyone the day before (which I didn't receive - of course I checked my JUNK folder when I finally reached the airport because I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt before I berated them for being so unprofessional). Then I asked her what happened to the currently boarded animals, and she confidently told me they were well taken care of, which I can only assume they were running either fans or coolers on generators. I am confused here because if this was true, then no one thought to plug in one of the computers to get the schedule for the day? Either way, I'm abhorred by all her answers (made up or not) and how they mishandled this situation overall. If they couldn't log in, fine; but there was no one at the office to greet their appointments for the day to offer alternative care - mine was only a monetarily devastating situation but what if my sick baby was scheduled that day? If the boarded animals were truly taken care of (temperature-wise), then surely a human could stand to be in the same conditions. While none of this adds up, my main concern was really to understand how we move on from here and to get a good feeling on future situations. She failed in all aspects, but at least I found out now and can go to another vet.

On this particular day, my little dog woke up with a limp so I called City Vet Murphy and asked to come see my regular vet, which is Dr. Burgin ( the wife) and they said that she was not working that day, but her husband was and he would be happy to see me. I was so happy because I was so worried about my little dog, so I jumped in the car and took him out to see Dr. Burgin ( the husband). He was just as fabulous as his wife. Both vets are so kind and caring and knowledgeable and patient they make you and your pet feel extremely comfortable. In this case, their staff was also wonderful... and that makes a huge difference since they are the first people you encounter. Everybody that works here is so warm and welcoming. they helped us immediately, and the doctor came in quickly to assess what was going on with my little dog. After I left, they sent me a quick text just to let me know that I can reach out to them anytime if I had any questions or concerns. They also followed up the next day just to check on Bobo! I absolutely love them. I'm so happy to have finally found a vet to take care of my precious Bobo! If you're anywhere near Murphy, I highly suggest using this vets office for your pets needs. My chiweenie had a seizure out of nowhere this morning and VEG was one of the two places…read morerecommended. Holy smokes am I glad I took him there. By the time I got him there he was having a 2nd seizure. The entire staff dropped EVERYTHING and triaged him on a table. He was stabilized, given anti seizure IV medication and was 90% back to normal in under 15 minutes. The staff went over and above to care for him and they thoroughly explained two different treatment plans including the costs. We chose a plan and even knocked off a very big ticket item because he responded so well to the meds. They were so professional and caring he fell in love with the entire staff during his visit. He even made the rounds to give all of them thank you kisses. While I hope we never have to visit again, if we do it's such a comfort to find an ER vet that doesn't take advantage and price gouge you in your most vulnerable moments...unlike others I've had the displeasure of visiting in the past.

Although I kept repeating that this is not a foreign body as this is the 3rd time it's happened in the last 6 months! They weren't listening to anything that I said! No compassion. No warmth. Was there for 6+ hours to have everything blamed on how long the radiologist was taking. Personal conversations complaining about clients, vet techs using their phones while patients needed attending to, eating their food next to the triage table! At the end of my 1,500 visit I had more concerns for my kitty than I did before I even walked in the door. When it was come time to be discharged the tech that was assisting us left without letting anyone know what was going on and they just looked really dysfunctional. The doctor didn't even acknowledge us as we walk out. Not even a you're welcome to our thank you! Unprofessional, unorganized, no compassion or care about the clients or patients. I would never recommend this hospital even if it was the last place on earth! Update: Two days later. Called and spoke to Cheyenne about our experience. Felt heard, felt compassion and felt true concern about myself and my kitty. She advised she would call me back. Instead Dr. Hoge called me back and was very apologetic and showed a great deal of concern for our experience. I believe that the team we had this horrific encounter with creates a bad name for this ER and for the veterinary field as a whole. I appreciate the sincere apology I received by management and wanted to add that to my review. They both showed care and compassion and that is what it's all about. If I had walked in the door when they were there I would have had a totally different visit and my kitty would have been taken care of! They are what makes veterinary practice great!
