Grabbed a quick lunch here before heading back to Pets Referral Center to pick up my post op pup. I was anxious to get my dog but also knew that once I got him, I wouldn't have time or would be distracted from feeding myself. Parking outside was easy on a weekday at noon. Service and food was pretty fast and good value. $22 including tip for 2 people with orders off the lunch menu. Lunch included a small side salad, a single appetizer and lunch entree. I had the yellow curry with chicken and while I thought it a bit heavy on the pieces of potato, it was good enough and plenty of food for lunch. read more

Just AVERAGE Thai food. I was Just passing by , saw this place, so I decided to try them out. I ordered yellow curry chicken with steamed rice to go! It was ready quite fast which made me question the freshness. When I got home and opened the bag, I was very disappointed with what I saw, considering I paid around $13.00. Very small portions and uninviting presentation was the first thoughts. I have had some Thai food in the past. So comparing this Thai food to what I've had before, I would rate this food as AVERAGE! Nothing to rave about or recommend to friends and family. Just average. Nothing more. Note: They should work on their curry sauce. Place is nice, service too, food is great but the portions could be better (they serve more medium-low portions), went with a friend in the night, we ordered stick pots, curry, beers and noodles, even with that, still wanted more food. One thing, it was kind of cold inside, take care of that detail. Seems simple but it's important to people feel comfy and warm when they're enjoying food. read more

So my visit here was totally random. Was actually on the way somewhere else to eat when a friend said how about Thai, as we were passing it up. We flipped a U and were pleasantly surprised. Upon entering it was a great size, clean and nicely decorated. Bar, TV, music, friendly service,hmmmmmm. We started off with chicken curry puffs and crab ragoon appetizers. Both were excellent! I tried their Thai iced tea, very tasty. Moving on to entrees. I had the Siam fried rice(curry rice) and my friend had the red curry and shrimp. Both alone were ok but much better mixed together. Both were alil spicy but the shrimp in my dish was too tough for my liking. Frozen, i assume. Probably wouldn't order it again but saw other items on the menu i would still like to try. Ultimately it made for excellent left overs the next morning and the overall experience was still great. Will definitely be back. read more

Went in for dessert only but ended up ordering 1 appetizer. The place is clean and pretty. Parking is available on the street in front. The bar tender/waiter is very nice. Desserts were good. Chicken wings looks nice but the flavor did not penetrate the meat so it's not tasty. They also offer cash back on yelp and GROUPON which is a great deal! I'd go back to try other foods! read more

My coworkers and I arrived at Eat at Thai to sit down and have a late lunch. We were asked if we would like to dine in or take out. We asked to dine in. Then the receptionist said dine in wasn't available. We were very off put by this response as it was originally given as an option and there were others dining in when we arrived. We all proceeded to order to go anyway as we had come along way from Crockett, Ca. One of my co-workers received chicken potstickers, although he ordered vegetable potstickers as he has an intolerance to meat. The cashier was eager to rectify the situation by offering to get him an order of vegetable spring rolls. The owner, Elisa, then came out asking "well didn't you read the menu?" To my co-worker which was very demeaning and humiliating. I felt this was very unnecessary as the receptionist had already agreed to rectify the situation. I absolutely love this place, I discovered them accidentally while feeling adventurous on UberEats, and I was not disappointed at all. I can't say I'm a Thai food expert, but I can speak to the flavors in their food and the way they present it. I admit it. I'm addicted to Thai food. It has absolutely derailed my MRE diet. There's this giggly old Thai aunty who makes the best at a restaurant nearby, Eat at Thai, and she likes me and now she's making something new every night and I can't stay away. I never thought I'd get hooked like like a bass, full crackhead, but now I'm tweaking on peanut curry, Tom yum, and stoked about getting the gravy of the curry pots. Im waiting outside for this lady on the nights she cooks. If I could stay a locksmith, marry a woman who could cook like that, and stay high on picking locks and eating curries all day into my old age, I would consider myself accomplished and die happy. Ill settle for learning how to cook like that myself from her, although I anticipate it took her lifetime to master and it's not something I'm going to immediately. There's a dietary chemistry kind of like ayurveda, qi gong, etc. but I tell you there is a soup that when you eat it, it makes you feel strong and powerful like drugs or superpowers. I am serious you have a gulp of that soup and the energy lasts way longer and stronger than a red bull and a power bar and won't weigh you down like meat can. After being told that my food would be ready in 20min, I still had to wait an addition 15+ minutes for my food to be prepared. So a little disappointed with that. But what is really making me write this review is my yellow chicken curry. There were way too many carrots and barely any chicken, the potatoes and onions were undercooked and the consistency was very watery. Yellow curry is typically thicker. There wasn't any of the typical sweetness and all the flavor was replaced by the medium spice. Definitely disappointed and won't be coming here again. read more

I tried this place on DoorDash and let me start by saying that everything is extremely over priced. $8 for sticky rice with mango and the serving is so small and to be honest it wasn't great either, they couldn't have been anymore greedy with the amount of sliced mango they put in there and the mango seemed over ripe and tasted funky and had a lot of brown spots, i couldn't eat it. I've tried many Thai restaurants and this place is by far the most expensive one that I've encountered for the quality of food they serve. I also noticed some weird black stuff in my drink and on my food, not really sure what it was but it was definitely unappetizing, I'll attach a picture to show. I also tried their fried rice and it was alright, but nothing special. Needless to say I'm probably never going to order from this place again. This place is a JOKE. More expensive than other Thai delivery in the area. Poor food quality is an understatement. My fresh rolls weren't rolls at all...they busted apart as soon as I touched them and were too messy to eat...had to use a fork. The tiny sauce was tangy and tasted spoiled ...how about a peanut sauce? The rice that came with the curry was laughably small...like a half cup at best. And the curry smelled bad. How is it even possible for curry to smell bad.? The sweet potatoes were soggy and the sauce for those had no flavor and was way too sweet. The papaya salad was very good, it was very well mixed and balanced flavor with lime and sweet sauce, the shrimp on top was also delicious. the sticky mango was good. The server was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is set fine dinning style. This restaurant has a very nice painting of Thailand, I think it captures a piece of their culture. read more

I got takeout during quarantine, the order was ready pretty quickly but once I showed up I had to stand around for a while before anyone offered to help me. Food was totally worth the wait though. I got the drunken noodles, crab rangoons and fried banana with vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious. Their Pad thai is just basic. No veggies maybe some really dry chicken breast. All of their fried food was saturated with oil because someone doesn't know the temp it should be. The crab rangoon was the best of it all but also very basic. Do not get the duck! Cooked too long, dry and tasted weird. Could not even eat it. I usually don't eat fried food because when I get it people just don't know how to fry it right. Very disappointing. Yoooooo! My husband and I came a across this place on DoorDash one drunken night. We had forgotten the name but we finally found it again! I can't even begin to describe the flavors I get from this carefully crafted food. I've never tasted food like this in CA before and I've been to Michelin Star restaurants. I eat Thai food at least once a week. I can confidently say this is the worst Thai food I've ever eaten. And what's worse is their customer service. If you don't want to read the whole review, the short is : don't waste your money or ruin your meal and eat elsewhere. My husband and I placed an order for delivery. Drunken noodles and a spicy prawn salad. The drunken noodles were so spicy that they were inedible - and we eat A LOT of spice. It's beyond me how anyone would be able to consume that level of spice. We unfortunately had to toss that in the trash. The spicy prawn salad had stale prawns - soft and mushy in texture. I took a bite and knew it was off. Had my husband try it to confirm and he spat it out. I thought okay - maybe one bad prawn. But 2 out of the 3 that I tested were off and I wasn't willing to keep finding the 'good' ones at the risk of getting food poisoning. We called the restaurant to let them know our experience, but their response was to question me on how many prawns I ate (literally 1 whole and two spat out bites), exactly how the texture was and then they finally said that we should bring the prawns to the restaurant so they have 'proof' that the prawns are in fact off. So they expected that I should take an Uber to the restaurant to prove to them that I couldn't eat my dinner, which I paid $32 for, because the prawns are stale and could make me sick? The guy on the phone initially offered to refund the prawn salad but then literally put us on hold 3 times to discuss it with the chef who insisted that the prawns could not be stale because they receive them daily and that we should bring the food to them to prove it. And IF they thought something was wrong with the prawns then they would refund it. I suggested that they could either come pick it up or pay for my Uber but they refused to do that too. So I decided to cut my losses, order pizza and call it a night. Thought I'd save other yelpers from making the same mistake as us by ordering food from them. read more

Meh In this day an age, mediocre does not cut it. There are far too many good and even great restaurants, in Berkeley, Albany and, even nearby in Oakland. Berkeley has way too many Thai joints and high class Thai restaurants. Once upon a time, Siam Cuisine was tops. My mother and used to go there, before and after the big remodel. They served some of the best Thai food, bar none. I had an autographed copy of the original cook book. My ex-girlfriend swiped it, long ago. I now have a copy I bought on line. I make Tom Yum Goon that is far superior. You can get everything necessary at Berkeley Bowl. They sell canned straw mushrooms but, they taste better and, they are more authentic than the fresh, run of the mill, mushrooms Eat @ Thai is currently using. I also make better Pad Thai and Chicken Satay. I am a fairly good cook but, I would expect a restaurant of this caliber to be able to make better Thai food than a white man who grew up in Berkeley. I ordered yellow curry and rice... It was awful. The curry tasted like water and a weird aftertaste that didn't taste right at all... Like mold... It was nothing like any curry I've ever tasted.
