What a cute new restaurant. The giant movie poster gives this restaurant a very cool vibe. The food was very good, although next time I will ask for more spice for the Spicy Eggplant. The waiter was very busy, so we had to flag him to take our order. But the food came out relatively quickly. I recommend this restaurant.

My friend favorite place to eat Thai food. My order was chicken satay and drunken noodle. Chicken satay was tender not dry, added peanut sauce for extra yum. Drunken noodle was spicy but little salty. I added the vinegar to help. The fat noodle was good and not smoochy. My friends enjoyed their ordered. Service was good. Street parking.

A gem for food lovers! Such an amazing spot, with great food, friendly attentive staff, and warm / cozy ambiance. Truly a fantastic restaurant. Had dinner with friends (party of 6) and enjoyed it family style sharing all the plates. We loved the food and the dishes were delicious! Apps: Corn Fritters, Roti with Green Curry, Summer Rolls, Veggie Curry Puffs, Issan Sausage Mains: Pad Thai, Crab Curry, Sweet sole, Curry a Trios, Chicken Gar Pow Portions for mains are huge and can definitely be shared. Pad Thai had perfect balance of flavors with plump shrimp and a nice crunch from the beansprouts and peanuts. If you are unsure of what curry to get I would order the Trios because you get to try 3 different ones: Yellow, Green, and Red. Great ratio of meat to vegetables for the Gar Pow and the flavor was spot on. Sweet sole was absolutely delicious with a nice chuck of fish. It's fried but not greasy and was light, airy, and fresh. Crab Curry is spicy but worth the burn. You can see the chunks of crab and can 100% taste it too! Mixing it with the noodles, egg, and different veggie accompaniments, elevates it to a different and delightful level. If you are a crab lover I would highly recommend this dish!

Decided to go to Summer Summer Thai Eatery for lunch with two of my friends (three guys total). We got seated immediately, as the restaurant was empty around 11:45 a.m. We ordered at 11:50: * Sweet Sol with Brown Rice Lunch Special * Kao Soi Lunch Special * Pad Kee Mao (Medium Spicy) * Spicy Rib Eye Salad * Thai Iced Tea * Passion Fruit Tea (free refills!) Starting with the drinks, the passion fruit tea was a bit bitter at first. We asked for sugar, and they gave us some simple syrup to sweeten it, which made it quite good. I enjoyed the Thai tea, it had the perfect level of sweetness. Also, the paper straw (which I normally hate) held up the whole meal which I was pleasantly surprised by. The rib eye salad came out first at 12:05. The meat was tender and flavorful, though my Thai friend expected it to be a bit more sour. I thought it was good though... I don't like super sour food, and this tasted fine to me. The Kao Soi and Pad Kee Mao came out at 12:08, and the Sol followed a minute later. I would say the Kao Soi and Pad Kee Mao were average, not great, but not bad either. Pretty much what you'd expect from a standard Thai restaurant. However, the fried Sol really stood out. It's like a Japanese chicken katsu, but with fish inside. The outside was crunchy and flaky, while the inside was tender. The spicy-sweet chili sauce on top paired perfectly with the brown rice it was served with. If I were to come back alone, I'd order this dish again and be very happy. Overall, I liked this place and would return if I were in the area. The vibes were nice, the restaurant was spacious and clean, and the atmosphere was quiet enough to enjoy our meal in peace. It's a solid spot for a relaxed lunch with friends and a few standout dishes worth coming back for.

Great place for a casual thai lunch or dinner. We got the Pad Thai, Curry a Trois, and Summer Roll. It was really tasty and overall came out to around $65 after tip. Great service as well. Will be back!

This place is amazing! Definitely try their special curries. Last time we had their spicy duck curry and it was so delicious. The place is always clean and the service is excellent! The owners are very sweet and attentive to customers all the time. This is a great location for a date or a small party

I used to live in Emeryville and we would go here weekly. I moved away, so I don't get to go there as often. This is my first time back in a year. Went back to Emeryville specifically for Summer Summer. When I went in, there were some minor changes but all for the better. The staff is still just as amazing as I remember. So friendly and so inviting. The service was fast. The food was incredible. I wish I could give them more than five stars. I look forward to my next visit .

Great Thai and was happy with my pad see ew. As usual I expect to eat it all and then I get full because the serving size deceives me. Spice level was great after talking to our server about spicy level he could do. They don't show spice levels on the menu but they will assist! I appreciated the server providing his own judgment. :) Thai tea and service was great too. Cute spot and seems like a nice neighborhood restaurant. May see people on dates or just a family enjoying a meal. Clean too. Watch the street parking. Some is paid and some is free depending on the time of day.

We were driving through on our way home from the San Francisco airport and decided to stop and grab a bite while waiting out traffic. We had never been to Summer Summertime Eatery before, but I'm so glad we gave it a try! My husband ordered the champagne margarita and loved it. He's not easily impressed, so that says a lot. We ordered a few classic dishes to share--Tuka soup, the sautéed chicken bar, and chicken thigh fried rice. The sautéed chicken was hands down the most tender and juicy chicken I've ever had. My husband really enjoyed the soup (again--he's picky), and the fried rice came out piping hot, super fresh, and packed with flavor. Highly recommend this spot. It's officially going on our saved list for next time we're in town!

Tofu Thai Fried Rice Dinner with spinach and broccoli added

By the time my train from Chicago got into emeryville, I was wiped. So I found the closest Thai place and ordered door dash. It was incredibly quick , arriving within 15 mins of ordering. I had the fried rice and was surprised that not only could I add tofu, but for $2 per topping, I could get veggies, which are so hard to get when traveling. So I added cooked spinach and broccoli. The flavor was excellent - and the added veggies were nicely cooked and blended well with the meal. After eating about half it, however, it seemed a little greasy and was hard to finish. So I recommend but just with a slight warning that it was greasier than I wanted.

Service 10/10 , nice vibe. I like the restaurant. The food is really good , yellow curry and papaya salad were my favorite items. They have good deals for bottle of wines that you can enjoy with dinner. I really recommend it

We all split all the specialty cocktails and I got the Khao Pad Kang Kiew (rice with eggplant and chicken topped with a fried egg). Dishes are $20-23 ish each. We were seated at the 6 person table in the back of the restaurant near the bathroom. My favorite drinks were their take on a hard thai iced tea, the lavender mojito, a take on an espresso martini. There was also this spicy drink that had thai chilis in it that is VERY spicy lol. Pros: - the rice dish was DELICIOUS and also huge haha. Came with cucumbers to cut the peppery flavor if needed. - All the cocktails were pretty different and it was fun to try all of them. They were all beautiful to look at and tasty (lots of coconut and Thai inspiration). - Service was pretty good - Has "typical" thai dishes like pad thai and pad see ew, and also more rare ones that are hard to find - Close to many bars and other establishments, so perfect if you want to eat here as a first, second, or third location of your outing haha Cons: - The air flow in the back wasn't amazing so I did feel like it got stuffy/hot - Parking can be tough in this area so I recommend BARTing Another reason to love Oakland!

Unfortunately it was too spicy for my liking and some of the white rice was burnt from the being at the bottom of the pot. There was only 8 eggplant pieces in the entire dish and surprisingly a lot more chicken. So depending on your preference this may be a good thing! I was really craving the sweet, earthy flavor of eggplant so while lots of protein was greatly appreciated I did wish there was more eggplant in the dish. Either way it was a good portion of food so they don't skimp here for sure! The service was friendly and super attentive the moment you walk in. I'd be willing to try another non spicy dish here.

But it was not full throughout the time we were at the restaurants. Experience: Food came out pretty fast and it was hot(!). Overall, service was good and they checked in on us a few times to make sure all is good. Food: - Nam Khao was fantastic. Crispy rice, the mixed minced vegetables, and the cooked sausage. Together with the lime that you can squeeze to preference, it was delicious! Haven't had Nam Khao this delicious in a while! - Pad See Ew with pork was alright. It was cooked well and a little on the sweeter side rather than savory, but missing the smoky flavor "wok hei" that would take this to the next level that I love. - Fried Sweet Fish was alright too. Fish is fried with a very thin batter but it had black pepper which my kids doesn't want as they're sensitive to anything spicy. The fish had a light fishy taste to it (fresh water fish) which would be better if they even use a little ginger to cut the fishy taste for a better taste. - Guay Tiew is very similar to Pad See Ew with the exception that it had a fried egg on the top and had seafood (shrimp and squid). - Vientiane Crispy Roll is different from regular egg rolls. Made with rice paper roll so it was crispy but also chewy, which is different and may not be what everyone is used to. Will return to try out other dishes.

I missed photos of the main entrees enjoying our time and honestly not sure what we ordered as we paid with a kiosk and didn't get a printed receipt even thought I typed in my email.. so that's frustrating with technology. If you want a receipt have it printed before you leave. My friend had a spicy eggplant dish and I had a tofu dish with rice and no fish sauce. Wish I could be more descriptive but can't say without an itemized receipt.. doesn't matter though, was all amazing flavors for both my friend (who travels and has worldly palette, and my self with a broad pallet only within the US) Flavors were amazing and service was on par. I did have an issue at first with the first server saying Pad Thai could be done with tofu and no fish sauce so I was excited, but then the next server said it was already mixed and not able to accommodate, but did find me an alternative I found flavorful with veggies, though missed having the peanuts in my dish. I had Pad See You instead without meat or fish sauce. Service overall was wonderful, attentive and didn't have to wait for anything. They did close and allowed us to stay on the patio visiting long after. Would be happy to return again.. I didn't ask about validating my parking and then they closed, so that was a bummer but my bad.. do check when you arrive and see if they can validate to help with a hefty parking cost $20 for us but hung out longer than most..

The Thai iced coffee was delicious and strong! As it should be. It did give me the jitters though because I'm a weak sauce. We were a party of ten and I was able to make rezzies via phone for a Friday evening at 6:30pm no problem about a week beforehand. The kiddos ordered à la carte, and five of us adults had the following: - BMV ultimate papaya platter with Lao sausage, angel wings and crispy pork. Crispy pork was legit, papaya salad definitely had that extra funk. The angel wings were crispy and meaty and my friends loved the Lao sausage. One even said "it's like tom yum soup in a sausage". It was very lemongrass forward which is not my thing, but that's my problem. I feel we could have ordered à la carte and that would have been a better deal than $75 for the platter. Some of it was fluff like the cabbage, rice and pork rinds. - Khao soy soup: Fiancé thought it would be creamy and coconut-y like the Thai version but it wasn't. I did enjoy the flat noodles but they were all stuck together. - Pia pla ka pow (fish with basil): Good one. The fish was moist and flavorful. The veggies were al dente and delicious too. - Sakoo: Unique! I enjoyed the chewy mochi exterior and the savory ground pork filling. It needed a sauce. I just used the chili sauce that was on the party platter. - Laab Gai: This fell flat for me. I'm not a huge fan of organs though. - Nam khao fried rice: One of our favorites! The crispy pieces really made this dish. Would definitely order this again. - Mango sticky rice: Served warm. Very sweet mango! - Purple rice with egg custard: Also served warm. This was ok. - Side of rice: HUGE serving! Unfortunately it was clumpy and hard, which means old. Street parking only. Get the nam khao and mango sticky rice!
