"Sideways Face" This is the term my guy has coined for the expression I get when I don't really like something. That is the exact expression I gave when I bit into Eat 'Em Up's Pastrami Quesadilla. The quality of the Pastrami was very good! But that's where it ended. They claim to have used a "jack and cheddar cheese blend", but all I tasted was jack cheese. The meat and cheese was very unevenly distributed. Worst of all, they gave it to me DOUSED in yellow mustard. I know pastrami goes well with mustard, but geez guys... It's shredded! And even if its liquid... like nacho cheese... ever heard of a little plastic sauce cup? Oh I need to stop this review. I'll start off by saying, I should have listened to all the reviews. I will never go back again. I paid $8 for a cheeseburger which looked like a decent size. Boy was I fooled. I took the top bun off to find that the meat inside was only half the size of the bun. HALF! To add to my frustration, the bun started crumbling in my hand. By the time I got to my second bite the bun basically fell apart. To top it all off, the fries were cold. So disappointing. read more

Not bad at all. The menu is simple with tacos, quesadillas, a burger, fries etc. I got the chicken quesadilla and fries. The fries were the thick fries, with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and softness on the inside. The mango salsa that comes with the quesadilla is very yummy and refreshing. Portions are quite small. I wasn't blown away by the taste, but it was definitely good if you are hungry and want something simple. What the F??? I haven't written a review in a while but today's experience with this vendor compelled me to write this nasty review. Seriously if you're going to be opening a food business, let alone a food-truck business where your business depends on word of mouth and great-tasting food, you'd better have the "goods" to back it up. But NO NOT THESE GUYS. The food fucking suck. Sorry for the foul language but I ordered 2 items (steak sandwich) and pollo fries and both items were horrendous and at $8 a pop, not cheap. My colleagues' orders were all terrible too. Fries were too dry. Absolutely could not taste the seasoning on my mexican steak sandwich. Everything was so dry that whilst eating I was asking myself where was the salsa or sauce that usually came with mexican food. I definitely learned some lessons today folks. No more food trucks for me (exception is Kogi's). Overpriced and sometimes you get stuck with crappy food such as ones from this vendor. AVOID. read more

Decent stuff. The asada fries portion was huge--I felt like an archaeologist digging through all the meat under the fries. And then more meat. It's the portion size you would expect from a hole-in-the-wall Mexican place like Carnitas Michoacan, except you don't get the runs. Having said that, the shoestring fries were decent but pretty boring. The salsa tasted exactly like Costco mango salsa, which isn't bad per se, but also kinda boring. Eat em Up Truck just catered an event that I hosted on Saturday. We had them serve a choice between 1) Eat em up Dawg - Bacon wrapped hot dog with grilled onion and peppers or 2) The Cluck You burger...a ground chicken breast topped with seasonal fruit salsa and their choice of fries or chilli cheese fries. I had to write this review to warn people to STAY AWAY from this truck (or at least from the nasty Chicken Burger). That is, unless you like your chicken patty to look, feel, and taste like rubber. I'm not even sure it was chicken. I can't remember the last time I was this disappointed with a meal, to the point where I couldn't even finish it and had to throw it away. Most disappointments end with a "not what I was expecting" or "I've had better", but this was straight on "WTF did I just put in my stomach?!?!". The only saving grace were the fries, which were average - I'd best describe them as McDonald's-style fries without the salt. Add on the fact that the person who took my name down for the order didn't even remember what he wrote, and they kept calling out the wrong name even though no one else was responding and I kept insisting that it was my order. This is the first food truck I've adamantly disliked. When there are literally dozens of other food trucks out there, none of which I would consider to be worse than average, don't waste your time or money on this one. read more

I was starving when I ran into this and another food truck at an event I went to...I have to be on a low fat diet (Health issues) So I looked at the menu for a while even though it was just a few items......I decided the healthiest option would be 2 chicken street tacos.......Workers were all nice, I was the only one in line so the food came pretty quick. Right away im like yikes Mango : / I don't like mango but I ate it anyways because I was HUNGRY. The Tacos were good and I didn't even mind the mango actually. The sad part was you get two tacos for 8 bucks....4 bucks a taco is pretty steep especially because there nothing special....for 8 bucks at least throw in some beans and rice! lol read more

Got the Carne Asada Fries. It was tasty, but nothing special. Customer service: Fail. 1) The owner was curt when responding my question about his menu. 2) The owner was expericing problems with his credit card processing machine. The guys who ordered after me asked to make sure he was not double charged. Owner then responds in a combative tone, "I process hundreds of payments a day. I don't have to take your credit card. If you want it here it is. I am taking your credit card as a service." I almost wanted to cancel my order, but I was hungry. read more

Just got back from eating at the truck (yes, I was THAT hungry. I'm not called "the-human-garbage-disposal" by my family & friends for no reason). The truck is apparently at my apartment complex about once a month, which is super-convenient for those w/o transportation or who don't feel like cooking. I perused the menu and finally decided to get the asada fries. And the burger. Aaaand the steak street tacos. Did I mention I was hungry?? The three orders took about 10-15 min to make but while I waited I chatted it up with the super-friendly owner, Eddie. I also watched as two kids ordered asada fries and a burger and unfortunately DROPPED the burger on the asphalt. It was pretty bad and I felt so sad for the kid (he had a special order possibly due to food allergies or uber-pickiness...not sure which). Eddie felt for the guy and offered to make him another burger. So awesome. If I could, I would give 5 stars to Eddie for being beyond thoughtful, caring, and kind to his customers. As cheesy as it may sound, the action warmed my heart.! Soooo on to the food: first up, the burger--served on a lightly toasted brioche bun (toasted to perfection, I might add--my compliments to the chef), w/ a light dab of mayo and a tomato slice (I don't do tomatoes and forgot to ask them to hold the tomato so I ended up throwing it out). The burger was DELICIOUS. Not too greasy but not at all dry and fully flavorful! It was a pretty decent size for $7, too. Since I ordered 3 things, I meant to only eat my burger there, but after tasting how delicious their food was, I couldn't wait to eat the rest of the food and started to work my way to the two steak street tacos (they also have chicken), which were also $7. $7 may seem a bit pricey for two tacos but the meat they use is of really good quality and tastes pretty good too. I moved on to my final order: the asada fries. The fries had more tomatoes on it than I'd prefer, but the quality of the meat and the amount of jack and cheddar cheese made up for it. In fact, I think there was more meat than fries, which is a plus. I think it's an overall decent deal for $8. A triple threat order for $22 = a completely satisfied "human garbage disposal." If I came back here I would definitely order the burger again and maybe the asada fries. I think that next time I would like to try the pastrami quesadilla since it sounds interesting and different. For good food and great service, I highly recommend this truck. When you see Eat Em Up in your area--run to it, don't walk! read more

Got the fries which were piled high with steak. Problem is, the steak was way too salty and to be brutally honest reminded me of food fit for dogs. I tried to eat the fries but kept on finding cold/unfinished ones. Lost my appetite quick. All that fun for 9 bucks! Ouch. Another friend got the steak sandwich and had similar complaints. Sigh.. Meh! Was just a two star experience. This truck was a "replacement" food truck for another vendor that didn't show up. I had emailed the original truck for their vegetarian options the day before .Never heard back, now I know why.. they just bailed, never responded back that they weren't coming. So now we get Eat Up Truck (they wish). No vegetarian options, since they didn't know , I can't hold that against them, but still, a food business should always offer this. Something. Anything.. So we negotiate: Me: Do you have any vegetarian dishes? Them: We have wonderful French fries! Me: Uh, could you do a Grilled Cheese ($8.00) Maybe add some tomato on it? Them: Sure! No problem! We'll even throw in a bottle of water ($1.00) FREE! Me: Um, OK... (underwhelmed) When I finally got my food, after ten minutes) it was a miniscule little bland dinner roll, nothing on it but a couple of slices of Kraft American with one small slice of tomato. Not even grilled. Me: Could you maybe melt the cheese? Them: Ok... we have to figure out how to melt the cheese without burning the roll. (Really!) Took them something like another 15 minutes to accomplish this. End result: Was very tasteless (no kidding!) They stopped by my place of business a couple days ago and i knew nothing of their reviews at the time so i had no expectations. I ordered a steak melt, fries and mexican coke. The food was good, big portions, all fresh ingredients, very tasty. I've eaten at a lot of food trucks, and these guys are good. Im kinda shocked at the low reviews, Maybe i got lucky or maybe they took the previous criticisms to heart and made improvements. In any case i will definitely give them my business again. Don't do it! We were hanging out at bimmerfest, decided to get some food, waited over an hour in line just to order then waited and whole 30 mins for them to cook the food. By this time we were tired hungry and had a headache. The guy taking orders was rude and slow. Then when some of the models for bimmerfest came to the front of the line the guy took their orders before all of us who waited in line to order thier food. Ok, I see some bad reviews here. I don't agree AT ALL! I guess every day can be different, but my experience with this food truck was AMAZING! My friend had a party in the Inland Empire, and hired this food truck. I haven't had a cheeseburger this good, well, I don't know if I've ever had a cheeseburger this good. I split that, and a pastrami sandwich with my husband, and fries, and it was pretty much the best we've ever had! I have been craving this food ever since the party! I had been trying to corner this truck for quite awhile and finally tracked it down at the truck squad at the Fullerton best buy on Friday. Their menu is fairly standard, burgers and sandos with a taco mixed in. I tried their burger called the cowboy. It's basically a Carl's Jr western burger w/o the onion rings. It was better than its calls counterpart because of the bun mostly which was warm and buttery. The meat was a lot fresher too. This is a better than average truck and I'm glad I tried it. read more
