Brought my sister and her family to Galveston for a day trip. However, the weather was freezing cold to walk around and we decided to find a lunch spot to eat instead. What a nice and quaint place! The crostini with sun dried tomato spread that on the house was delicious so were all the sandwiches and paninis that we have ordered. Great service too! never thought i would turn into someone who orders the same thing every time i go to a restaurant, but every time i find myself at eat cetera for a weekend brunch i get the thai breakfast sandwich and have never been disappointed. the vegetables are so fresh, the eggs are perfectly cooked, one of the tastiest sandwiches i have ever had. i have tried other sandwiches and tartines, and their soups are always interesting and flavorful. their simple green salad has a fantastic dressing on it, and their prickly pear iced tea is a perfect beverage to beat the texas heat. if you're looking for something fresh, simple, and flavorful this is the best place to go on the island. read more

I had the Norwegian smoked salmon sandwich with a side salad, and it was absolutely delicious. My only complaint, and the reason I gave it 4 stars, is that the bread was a little too thick. Parking was easy and free, and I enjoyed the upscale atmosphere of the restaurant. The pricing is competitive for the island, coming in lower than most places in the vicinity. I loved this place enough to come 2 days in a row! The chicken sandwich with tomato, onions and paprika aioli on gluten free bagel was excellent. Absolutely outstanding. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. We had the roasted tomato soup and the Chinese mushroom soup to start, both divine. I had the smoked mozzarella/eggplant sandwich, but I added the smiled paprika aioli (a must!). My bf got the real standout with the tellegio sandwich, it was amazing. Get it, just trust me. FABULOUS! If you are looking for a city bistro feel on the island you have found it! They give you a complimentary break and tomato cheese cream spread to die for. The people I was with ask for some on the side to put on their sandwich. Staff was amazing so nice and professional. Great quality food. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try due to its proximity to the hotel I was staying at, the Tremont House. I walked in by myself around 11:30am and was seated right away. I ordered the zucchini ribbon sandwich with a cup of chilled avocado coconut soup. I decided on the chilled soup because I already know I love tomato soup. This soup did not disappoint. It was perfect for a very hot Galveston summer day. Everything I tried from Eat Cetera was fantastic! The sundried tomato spread was delicious and the toasted cuban bread was AMAZING. This place was a breath of fresh air! We had just left Moody Gardens with our 2 year old and ALMOST decided to be lazy and go to the nearest highest ranked (greasy) grill, but decided to drive a little farther and try this place out. Sooo happy we did. Parking seems limited in the immediate surrounding area, but we arrived at 12:00 and luckily found a spot right in front of the restaurant. This was a Tuesday though, so weekends are probably busier. It's so clean and decorated very cute (modern/artsy/gallery feel). The waitresses were sweet and accommodating with our toddler which was a relief:) We enjoyed the food. I had the Cuban panini and my husband had the tallegio pear and ham panini. They actually had a kids menu which they don't advertise on the website, which is awesome because that was one of our hesitations in going in the first place! We got our daughter the turkey and cheddar grilled cheese sandwich which was also good, and they served it with apples or chips. Apples were fresh and she enjoyed her meal! From what I can remember from the kids menu they also had a pb&j, grilled ham and cheese, egg and bacon and cheese sandwich. I will definitely return and recommend it to others! read more

They have lots of vegetarian and vegan soups, salads, and sandwiches. The service is good and the food is filling. The only cons: The place is sort of small and the food is a bit pricey in my opinion. Expect to spend $9ish dollars on a sandwich with a side salad. read more

This place was okay. We were seated very quickly which was very nice. It was also a lot of fun to have board games to play while waiting for food. The place was not very crowded and it took a half an hour for our food to come out. The food was not very flavorful. Rude, rude, rude. Simple truth to our experience. Not only was the response to our arrival rude..."it is going to be a while..." with sarcastic snarl, the next thing I know, I am being told to rearrange our table because it was hampering their access. My wife was the one, who is normally more patient than I, to suggest leaving. Upon leaving, some outdoor patrons, sitting at the outdoor table, commented on how rude the server was as well. I will say this much, I have been to way to many restaurants in my life and I have to say that I have never left a restaurant because of rude wait staff. This one took the cake. Had lunch with my son and friends while visiting Galveston. The decor was very plain but the food was wonderful. I had one of the best paninis ever and the gazpacho was absolutely delicious. This place is WONDERFUL! A great local place. I especially love the Zucchini sandwich, I get it almost every time. Great flavors here, and don't EVEN get me started on the prickly pear tea, it is too good. The atmosphere is pretty casual, as you'll find with a lot of local shops. I've done a few take out orders and talked with the woman who owns the place. What a nice lady! You do have to engage her in conversation though. Can't get enough of that tomato spread. Wonderful selection for vegetarians. The flavors are so unique and I believe you get super good food for what you're paying. The portions are smaller though, but it's enough to fill me up.
