    Slow Roasted Chicken Sandwich
    Stephanie W.

What a perfect lunch spot! My coworker & I walked over for the chicken sandwich and it didn't disappoint. The warm Brie and crisp apple slices with a ton of chicken. Delish! Service was nice. It's counter service and there wasn't a line. We sat outside and enjoyed the quiet, as there were a few groups inside around the bar.

Had always considered MarMo more of a bar and was thoroughly impressed by their daytime offerings! Service was quick and friendly. Plenty of fun coffee flavors to be enjoyed on the outdoor patio space; the butterbeer latte is a great sweet treat. I actually really enjoyed the breakfast taco which was extremely affordable and quite sizeable. Will be coming back!

5:24:2025 Stopped here for breakfast after a Segway tour on the Strand. Small inside seating area. Lots of seating outside. No free parking. Church street has feee parking and is only 2 blocks away. Menu is small with plenty of options s for us. Breakfast tacos served with salsa and the avocado toast (add egg) were delicious. Very Reasonable prices for tourist city. Order and pay at the bar. We were immediately greeted and server was friendly and helpful when ordering. Very nice relaxed laid back vibe in the morning. It's like Cheers Everyone knows the Locals here. Also some tourists here too. Great spot come check it out.

MarMo Cafe & Lounge is a beautiful drinking new drinking establishment in Galveston. This bar brings more of an elegant cocktail bar vibe to the strand that you cannot find at many other bars. Because Yelp decided to delete my last review of this place, I will be reassessing my review of MarMo today. Previously, I visited during the holidays, where the venue was decorated beautifully with lights and wrapping paper. Today, it's less of a spectacular view, but still very relaxed and intimate. The interior has nice floral wallpaper and a beautiful feathery mural. The outside patio is also very inviting, with fire pits and gazebos to lounge under. They also have a pretty sick waterfall and modern art sculptures throughout the patio. It's quite the immersive experience, even without the holiday decorations. The service can be a bit slow, but the cocktails are mixed perfectly and presented with class by the colorfully-dressed mixologists. I did have to wait in line for about 15 minutes today, and once I ordered my drink took another 3 or so minutes to get made. However, my espresso martini I ordered was delicious and the presentation was spectacular. It was a dark and bitter flavor with a slight sweetness in the background. It was served with 3 coffee beans placed in the middle, in the classic espresso martini style. It was the perfect drink to start my night! Overall, MarMo is a great new addition to the Galveston nightlife. I am disappointed that my last review was deleted because I can't remember exactly what I experienced here originally, but I'm sure it was just as good, if not better. I'm giving MarMo 16/20 Freys, losing points mostly based off of service time. FREY OUT!

    Eggplant sandwich

Ordered here for lunch one day and I really enjoyed my sandwich. I ordered the chicken sandwich but substituted the meat for eggplant. My only complaint is that the breading on the fried eggplant was a little too soft and the vinaigrette that was on the sandwich made it soggy. I will ask for it on the side next time. I like that this restaurant offers meatless options and the prices are very reasonable. My sandwich with chips was about $13 while other places in the area charge almost $20 for the same thing. I look forward to going back again soon to try something else.

Stopped by after dinner and was treating to an amazing fire place on a slightly chilly day. The happy hour goes nice and late which is perfect for an a post dinner drink. We really wanted to get some food, but we were just too full from dinner, so we ordered a gimlet and an old fashioned. I was a little bit put off by having multiple ice cubes in my old fashioned, instead of one big ice cube. However, both drinks were made well and tasted delicious. A beautiful fire on a beautiful chilly night makes this place the spot to be at if you're trying to stop in for a drink.

Great drinks and vibes! Was here for a school event and enjoyed the ambiance. The music that they played was especially good - lots of indie pop and rock. The samplers of flatbreads were delicious and I appreciated how the staff accommodated my mocktail request. They made me an orange blossom, which tasted like a fizzy orange dreamsicle in drink form. Would highly recommend hosting events here or stopping by to try their cafe.

Amazing service! Clean restaurant, proper cocktail menu (the clover club was exceptional) We also had some orange chocolate cake that was deliciously decadent!

Nice cafe, convenient for a quick lunch. They have a surprisingly nice selection of bourbon too. Lots of Weller varieties and Stagg (previously known as 'Jr'). The smoked chicken sandwich was very good and came with Zappos chips. The bartender was very friendly and answered a few questions for me. Look forward to checking out their happy hour. Don't be afraid to climb the steps to check out this establishment, I waited too long!

What a treasure! Cool vibe, awesome food, and great service. If I lived in Galveston, I'd be a repeat customer for sure.

Drinks next to the fire. With a shelter.

They're located in downtown Galveston in a part of town that was once a red light district. Their menu is "beach drinks". That's the vibe. You can get anything from a Negroni or Old Fashioned to a Highball, French 75 and everything in between. I live for that frozen strawberry daiquiri though. The cocktail menu is extensive! Did you know they have a speakeasy tiki bar too? Funky, beachy, tiki vibe decor. Great employees. It's The Pineapple Parlor and primo! See my review on it.

It's one of the best craft cocktail destinations on the island - and with a tiki flare. It's great to see it open after almost a decade. (We went there in 2016 when it first opened for a Yelp meetup; got to meet the owner, try some cocktails, and everyone had a great time.) Happy hour is Mon all day and Tue-Fri 4-7pm with $6 cocktails. Such a deal. They now have a "speakeasy" called the Pineapple Parlor. Barkeep told us there'd be a $6 admission per person; and since the space is small, there's limited seating. We opted to stay inside the DTO area for old fashioneds and Southside ($8 gin, lemon, mint).

The entrance is so fun and charming. I love how 50s hula music is playing while you enter the bar. The hula girl wallpaper in the bathroom also plays well into the theme. One of my friends was six months pregnant at the time and found the mocktail selection to be really good. We were quite full from dinner but didn't mind the snack offerings. I explained I'm gluten intolerant, and the bartender went through the snack pairings I could have. My drink (Speaky Tiki Old Fashioned) came with the rice, and it was so, so good. We actually plan on coming back this weekend, and I'm salivating at the thought of the crispy rice. Don't skip out on this place! It's one of the best speakeasies I've been to.

The Kumquat Tot is hands down my favorite. Kumquat, gin, mint, and a few other choice ingredients make this one of the most unique and refreshing cocktails I've ever had.
