Since I enjoyed it so much the first time, I went back again a few days later. The service was less than satisfactory and I am not sure I will continue to order here.

Chicken shawarma with rice and Afghan daal and salad

The halal place that Galveston needed! Located inside an unassuming convenience store, Kabab Shack & Grill is the latest player in the Galveston restaurant scene and it is worth the hype. I had the chicken shawarma platter with rice, and it came with two sides of my choice - I got the Afghan daal and the salad. The daal was my favorite! The chicken was tender and tasty and I enjoyed their white sauce. The staff were so kind and attentive, even sharing samples of their food. At the end of the meal, I got a mango lassi, which was cool, refreshing, and perfect in sweetness. Definitely check this place out and if you're a student, they even give a discount!

Food and service were great. I missed good halal food since moving to the island so it's great to see that I now have a go to place when i'm craving kebab. The employees were friendly and gave solid recommendations for my meal. Food was deliciously seasoned with sumac and white and red sauce. One thing to note is that the restaurant is inside a convenience store so seating and parking are limited. I recommend take out. Was definitely worth walking from a block away to get food here and I WILL be returning frequently.

Super flavorful food. I got the Chicken Shawarma bowl with rice and two sides ( Potatoes and Spinach.) I've eaten a lot of Chicken Shawarma, but the flavor profile was different and spicier than normal, which I liked. For the sides- I loved the spinach and the potatoes were okay, a bit watery. It is in a gas station, so we took it to go, even though they have a few tables outside. Overall great food and definitely worth trying

There's plenty of space for large parties, and you're greeted kindly once you enter. Unlike most buffets I've been to, at Dimassi's, you pay AFTER you've had your fill. Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet is surprisingly not very expensive. Their food is freshly made, straight from the kitchen and everything at the buffet is always kept at the right temperature. There's multiple kinds of salads, hummus, meats, fresh veggies, pasta, beans, rice dishes, and desserts. Their pita bread and flatbreads are freshly baked from the oven. They even serve authentic Greek coffee. Most of the dishes are what you'd typically see in Mediterranean cuisine. While, there's some classic American comfort food mixed in. Dimassi's offers pick up orders, if you're not in the mood for buffets. I liked their chicken kebabs, but they're too thick. I wouldn't recommend the meatballs. They were dry and lacked flavor. The tomato sauce the meatballs were steeped in didn't help. The sauce was watery and very bland. Their Beef Kofta is delicious, but very rich, so I wouldn't eat more than one piece. Their rice pudding wasn't the best either. It still had chunks of rice. Dimassi's doesn't have much to offer for little kids. They only had cheese pizza, fried chicken wings, fries, banana pudding with vanilla wafers, and only one kind of cookie. I think I'll take my mother here sometime, though.

I placed an order through their online system, and the automated message said it would be ready in about 20 to 25 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes later and was told it would be another five minutes. This restaurant is interesting because it's set up like a small stall inside a convenience store. That means there isn't much seating aside from a small two-top, and most of the food is meant to be taken to go. On the night I was there, a man and woman were working together behind the counter. For dinner, I decided on the chicken kebab plate while my wife went with the chicken feta salad. I had the choice of rice or salad and went with the fattoush salad, then picked two sides: cauliflower and eggplant salsa. I also asked for mine to be spicy. Both of our meals looked good when I opened the to-go boxes, although I would have had a hard time spotting the cauliflower at first. I started with my chicken, which was served over the salad, and it was delicious. The chicken was moist, the salad was flavorful, and the spice blend added a great kick without being overpowering. Both of my sides were good too. The eggplant was nicely cooked with a custard-like texture, and the cauliflower was roasted well with a tasty sauce on top. My wife also really enjoyed her salad, especially the chicken. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first found this place, but the food ended up being delicious.

Best Bites takes you to Seabrook!…read more Today, while visiting my grandson, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Athena's Corner Greek Restaurant in Seabrook, and it was absolutely delicious! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm Mediterranean charm. The restaurant is beautiful, inviting, and filled with Greek-inspired décor. You can choose to dine inside or relax on their lovely outdoor patio. Our waitress, Rachel, was exceptional--friendly, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. She made us feel right at home! We kicked off our meal with a couple of appetizers, and they were every bit as impressive as they were delicious. The hummus was smooth, creamy, and served with warm, fluffy pita bread. We also enjoyed the falafels--perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, and even better dipped in their spicy feta spread! For my entrée, I chose the Lunch Special featuring a savory spinach pie, served with a fresh Greek salad and a cup of their famous Avgolemono (Greek lemon soup) . It was light, comforting, and packed with flavor. My grandson ordered the Chickpea Salad , a dish he loved so much on a previous visit that he couldn't resist ordering it again. That's always a good sign! My husband selected the Stuffed Shrimp Special . The plate was absolutely beautiful--jumbo baked shrimp stuffed with a savory crab dressing, served over a bed of mushroom orzo. It tasted every bit as incredible as it looked! If you're ever in Seabrook, Texas, and you're craving something fresh, flavorful, and satisfying, I highly recommend Athena's Corner Greek Restaurant. You'll enjoy a relaxing atmosphere, outstanding hospitality, and food that's made with care and bursting with authentic flavor. Best Bites Approved! Have you been to Athena's Corner? I love Greek food, so I decided to try this place out. I was greeted when I approached the counter. I ordered the Gyro Plate to go. There wasn't anyone in the restaurant, so it was very clean and quiet. It took about 3 minutes for my order to be ready. My dinner came with a good size salad, rice pilaf, pita bread and the meat. The meat was delicious. They don't give much pita bread, so I'll order extra next time. The rice was "ok". I didn't like that it had red pepper flakes in it, making it a little spicier than I can stand. Overall, I like it. I did go back and got a gyro instead of the gyro plate and it was HUGE and delicious! I unfortunately didn't get a chance to take a picture because I was starving, so you'll have to trust the Teller of Truth!

The food is good, and I knew that this was a counter service type of place rather than table service. Not a problem. It's just that when I go to a Greek restaurant, I want some Greek food options. I LOVE Greek food, and I get excited when I know it's coming. So I was underwhelmed with the menu. It's basically choose your meat and do you want rice, fries, or feta fries - which you should get. They do have some starters like different dips, dolmades, and spanakopita. As well as a Greek salad and rice bowls... but that's kind of it. Where is the moussaka, or the keftedes? Maybe this is more of a Greek street food type of place, but I was just a little underwhelmed by the options especially since we frequently make our own Gyros at home so I wanted something different. It was still good food though. I'm not sure I would go back unless someone in my family specifically wanted to eat here, but that's only because I would prefer different options. I WILL SAY, the guy behind the counter was working hard and attentive. He took our orders and as soon as one dish was up, he brought it over so it was fresh. If you go, you have to try the feta fries and the lemon potatoes. Yes, they're both potatoes, but they're both delicious. You could probably pass on the baklava. It's not the best I've had. The baklava ice cream was good, but I wouldn't get it again. I was really hoping that they'd have some Loukoumades for dessert, but alas, they did not. The takeaway is that this is more like a Greek fast food and while it's good, it's not big on the options. Worth a try if you're new to Greek food, but not worth it if you love many different options. My mom was happy and that's all that matters since it was her birthday. For those who care to know, the bathroom seemed clean, the restaurant was clean and bright, the one guy behind the counter was great... and that pretty much sums it up.
