We stayed nearby on a Galveston trip and ended up here twice because once just wasn't enough. The servers were friendly, quick, and dialed‑in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room is bright and adorable, decked out with watercolor art that makes you want to linger.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The grilled cinnamon roll was sticky, melty, and worth every bite. My daughter loved the croissants. We tried a little bit of everything -- barbacoa omelet, French toast, breakfast fajitas, soup, carne guisada -- and every plate was a winner. Bonus: the mimosa is basically a mason‑jar commitment.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute cafe located near UTMBs campus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Typically on the busier side![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server Jennifer was 10/10 so kind and had great recommendations. I got the Salmon on po boy bread and I'd rate it an 8/10. I also got the Vanilla iced latte which has a strong coffee flavor but I would say it was a 7/20 and very pretty.

Still a great place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. During the holidays it's so festive and busy, it can get a little hectic so getting take-out is always the next best thing. Luis is so helpful and attentive. If you want to place a to-go order go through the patio entrance and he'll take your order.

You can't miss with this amazing restaurant‼We had breakfast at the Sunflower Bakery and Cafe. I didn't get pics but we each loved what we ordered: Huevos Rancheros Two Eggs any style on a Corn-Cake with Ranchero Sauce, Cheddar Cheese & Sour Cream with Breakfast Potatoes; Oysters Benedict Our Classic Eggs Benedict with Fried Gulf Oysters and Breakfast Potatoes; Texas Crab Cakes & Eggs Two Crab Cakes, Poached eggs & Hollandaise Sauce, Breakfast Potatoes & Toast; Challah French Toast Made with Fresh Baked Bread with scrambled eggs and bacon; and the kids had pancakes, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs and sausage. The service was fast, attentive, and very helpful which is always a plus with little kids. The next day, we close and decided to have lunch there for the win. See the attached pics.

A short drive from Houston. This place was very welcoming from the beginning. Although it looks like a long wait, do not be fooled. It's pretty big and spacious both indoor and outdoor. Plenty of street parking as well as some private parking. Has 2 big indoor seating area and a well sized patio area. Isabella was our server and she was very nice and quick. The place was clean and friendly. Tables gets cleaned pretty quick and servers are always checking on you. However allowing you to enjoy your food with no interruptions. For drinks we went for lavender latte which was delicious and huge serving. Hot coco was not our favorite, tasted a bit powder. Food went for migas, huevos rancheros, big breakfast and waffle. Everything was yummy. Beans were a well smooth yummy texture. Potatoes were soft and seasoned. Waffle was the perfect crisp. Overall we will be returning, great service and yummy food.

There is a small parking lot and street parking available. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is an outdoor patio, bakery for to go treats and lots of seating available inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is pretty big and open but broken into 2 spaces.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was good and friendly. We were able to be seated right away. There is a big menu with lots of good options. There isn't anything gluten free or vegan on the menu or in the bakery. I got the corned beef hash and it was excellent. The portion size is large. The hollandaise sauce was good, the poached egg was cooked well and the corned beef was yummy. My husband enjoyed his omelet. There wasn't a long wait to get our food either.

Went here on a Saturday brunch and the wait time was 30mins for a party of two and the parking was a pickle but despite all the hardships, the Sunflower bakery and cafe lived up to its name. My order: French toast Huevos Rancheros There were breakfast specials and I wanted the blueberry crepe but I believe the portion sizes are small so I got the French toasts. They came in three numbers and they were amazing , soft and warm. It was a little dry and a dollop of butter and maple syrup does the trick and it was appetizing!! The highlight was the huevos rancheros, it came with eggs on top of a cornbread and it was the something I haven't tried before. The beans were meh but the potato's, eggs along with the cornbread made it great. Also tried their Florida based OJ and black coffee. Service was great. Ambiance was a bit rustic and was a little old but has a charm to it.

This is one of our favorite spots when in town! It's a favorite spot for so many! Always full and wait time usually goes faster than the time given. Feel free to order your coffee before you sit. We ordered the iced chai tea and white chocolate macchiato. Regular coffee are free refills.. We ordered the spinach quiche (it's a portion sliced), came out hot in the middle. A side of mixed fresh fruit. Salmon platter and omelette platter. Large portions. Excellent customer service and friendly! They are prompt!

Such a great experience at The Sunflower Bakery and Café. The corned beef hash was absolutely packed with flavor--perfectly seasoned with such a great balance of crispy and tender textures in every bite. It's easily one of the most balanced and flavorful versions of corned beef hash that I've ever had. The shrimp omelette was just as good, with layers of flavor that really stood out. The tricky part of making sure the shrimp were not overcooked was a success. It was hearty and filling without feeling too heavy, and the ingredients tasted fresh and well-prepared. Even though they were busy as expected to a weekend, the service was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, and everything came out in a timely manner. Obviously they know how to handle a crowd while still making customers feel taken care of. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you're on the island and looking for a flavorful and satisfying meal.

We first visited The Sunflower Bakery & Cafe in 2022 while trying to decide if Galveston could feel like home. After researching spots with real staying power, this one kept coming up, and it delivered exactly what we hoped for. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nothing flashy, just consistently good food and a warm, steady atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the Sunflower Smash with Chicken & Waffles, crispy, tender, and perfectly balanced with real maple syrup. Pancakes with fresh berries and the Ranchero Pork & Eggs were just as satisfying. What stood out most was the feeling. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly service, a relaxed rhythm, and a space that feels lived in and loved.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The kind of place you come back to.

    Big Breakfast

Fabulous, superb, fantastic, egg-cellent. Good God, I have never had a breakfast so good, $15 for their "Big Breakfast" from the start I was skeptical on the price of their large breakfast but I couldn't even finish more than half of the meal. I WILL be taking this home and I WILL be saving this for later. I've been wanting to transfer out of Texas A&M Galveston ASAP, but this brunch place has me seriously reconsidering that decision. Edit: My total ended up being a little over $32 including tip with the big breakfast with the added pancakes and berries option, a coffee, and Jalapeño toast. I'd recommend sharing the big breakfast between 2 people so total per person would be about $15 (not including tip).

Have been here for. A late lunch but have never experienced the breakfast. Ordered the Big Breakfast and was not disappointed. Service was excellent and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere outside was unbelievable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will be returning for breakfast again. Had to bring home leftovers.

I had one bite of the biscuit and gravy and it was so bad that the stray cat that jumped on our table did not even want it, but it could have also been because of all the flies because the little fly fan at our table did not work but it also might have been from the constant smell from the sewer drain located right in the seating area. My boyfriend got their sandwich that was similar to an Italian sub, which comes with the olive spread on it. He liked his sandwich, but felt the olive spread was overwhelming and scraped most of it off. He later said that had there been less of it on the sandwich it probably would've been better for him. My stomach was a little upset, so I was looking for something milder. So I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich off of the kids menu. Maybe it's just me, but a grilled cheese sandwich is American cheese on white bread, grilled. Here, apparently children eat cheddar and Swiss on a grilled roll. I asked to hold the Swiss, and went with straight cheddar as American was not an option. It was OK, but nothing to write home about in my opinion. Apparently this is a popular spot, as the tables were full both before we arrived and after we left, but unfortunately, we did not have an overwhelmingly positive experience.
