I only have a few hours of experience swinging a club, and Glenn took the time to really understand what I needed as a beginner. He helped me pick out a starter set at a very fair price and was completely honest about what made sense for my skill level. What I appreciated most was that he wasn't pushy at all. In fact, when I asked about getting a driver, he told me straight up, "You're not ready for that yet," which I really respected. It's clear he cares more about helping customers improve than just making a sale. Glenn even spent some extra time giving me a few basic tips on how to hold the club and pointed me toward a local coach for lessons. That kind of personal help meant a lot, especially for someone just starting out. Overall, it was a great experience. I'll definitely be coming back to purchase more equipment as I improve. Fantastic service, I got a set of older clubs from a co-worker with crumbling grips. I walked into Eaton's, they have a good selection of grips, with the advertised prices being for the grip inclusive of installation. had my set done, and got a nice fresh chunky putter grip too. Been there twice over the last week while in the area for work. Met the son of the owner who was really nice and welcoming, sold me a Hzrds Hybrid shaft I wanted to use for a driving iron I was building. Should have done my inspection prior to purchasing (for excited finding the spec I needed at a great price) but it turned out unusable due to some damage. Gave them a call, explained the situation and said to come by to get it replaced with some equal or better. Fast forward to today, met Glenn the owner, found me a Ventus hybrid shaft and gave me a straight trade, and he threw in the grip and the installation pro bono! It's my son's first year and playing golf so we didn't know much about golf. But we left with a great deal of knowledge of golf. Recently I had a full club fitting at a big box club store. By the end of the session, they wanted me to basically buy a new set of irons (I have JPX 923 HM KBS Tour Lite Stiff, they wanted me to buy the JPX 925 with regular shaft DG 95 R300). Costs to re shaft was over $100 each club with them. Basically they wanted me to just buy the new version which really isn't any better than the 923's. So I went to Eatons to see if they had the shafts for cheaper with install, they would have to order but it was way more affordable. But that wasn't why this place is great. Max, put me on the Mizuno swing analyzer and one of the top 3 shafts it recommended was the shaft I already had on my irons. He asked me why I didn't like them. I said I tend to block my shots right or slice because they're too stiff. I bring it in and right away sees my grip (Jumbo Max) he says, "it's not the shaft, it's your grip." I was skeptical, but he said, I'll lend you a demo with the #1 shaft that's recommended for you and to let him change my 7iron grip to a standard grip. He let me go to heartwell down the street and compare the 2 clubs, my 7i with standard grips and the 925 demo with the #1 shaft that's recommended was recommended (Japanese shaft 105g Regular). Lo and behold, I was hitting my 7i straight and could actually "feel" my swing. The club he lent me with the Japanese shaft was great, but only slightly, not enough to justify spending on new shafts. So I went back and regripped my entire set! He said the weight threw off the balance of the club and the thickness didn't allow me to release the club properly. He saved me a ton of money!! Proved to me that they really want, is what's best for the customer and not try to up sell them. The "expert"fitter should have saw the same thing and told me that, wouldn't be so irritated, because that's what I wanted the fitting for, but instead they tried to get me to buy a whole new set of golf clubs when the clubs I do have are only a generation earlier. I definitely recommend Eaton's Golf Shop. They're not a big chain store, so they won't have everything, but if you want some honest people that really want the best for you, this is the place to go. read more
