I stopped by this place while visiting in DC AND I do not regret it at all I ordered the Honey Lavender Latte (Hot) and it was out of this world! The best latte I've ever had and I'm not even exaggerating. Due to COVID the inside seating was closed down but they have a nice sized patio where they had chairs set up. It is conveniently located to a lot of DC charms. The streets it is located on is very nice. While it is street parking we had no issue finding a spot near by. The coffee was a bit on the expensive side but nothing too outrageously priced and because the latte was soo good I'd even pay more for it. The staff was nice and fulfilled our orders quickly. If you love coffee and want to find somewhere in DC I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ebenezers! I can't wait to go back when I visit. read more

I found myself stranded for several hours after inclement weather cancelled all buses from Union Station. Ebenezers fit the bill for a nearby coffee shop where I could settle in and get work done for a couple hours. I opted for the Honey lavender latte ($5), which was a bit sweet for my tastes but delicious nonetheless. I was a bit offput by the 75 cents added cost to sub nondairy milk, which is a pet peeve given that soy/almond milk costs about the same as regular milk and is shelf-stable. Snacks are also a bit pricey: $10 for a basic premade mozzarella sandwich, $6 for a cup of chia pudding. There's WiFi, comfy seating (if you're willing to wait a bit), and a restroom. I wouldn't go out of my way to return, but it's a perfectly good spot to chill for awhile and splurge on a fancy latte. read more

I went here around 11AM on a Monday and it was fairly empty and quiet, perfect for a meeting with a colleague. I got the blueberry mint iced latte which was good, very subtle blueberry and mint flavor with a robust coffee taste. It could have been a teensy bit stronger flavor to actually feel like the coffee was special. The three stars are really for the cookie. I was so excited for the cherry matcha cookie and it was the hardest thing on earth. Like, could have broken a tooth. I usually never get pastries at cafes and this just made me so sad. Located on the corner in a very charming Capitol Hill neighborhood. If you're not sitting in that window seat using their free wifi, grab your beverage to go and walk around with it. Ebenezer has indoor and outdoor seating where you are able to watch the world pass by. The architecture inside the coffeehouse is industrial while the outside is in brick. Throughout college and now as a visitor passing through D.C. Ebenezer's coffee continues to taste fresh and the options on the menu are endless for your kind of "Cup of Joe. Glad I discovered this cute little coffee shop! A friend had a stopover in Union Station and this was a quick little 2 minute walk around the corner. The barista was talking to a regular customer for over 5 minutes so I couldn't ask for a fork though I appreciate they build relationships with their regular customers. I had a drink coffee with almond milk and it was perfect to start the day. I did grab a protein box and blueberry muffin but they didn't live up to my expectations. I wanted to try a non-chain coffee house #supportlocal and Ebenezers didn't disappoint. Nice coffee house feel with lots of space inside and out. Pleasant music playing in the background, but quiet enough for conversation. I ordered a flat white for now and one for before I left, a seltzer water, and the smokehouse kolache. The barista executed both flat whites extremely well (it's amazing how many don't). Service was quick on everything even during a small rush. The kolache tasted fantastic and seemed to be very popular. I sat in a corner by some windows with a very pleasant view of the streets and buildings. I'd read a number of Mark Batterson's books, All In, Draw The Circle, Circle Maker. During the reading Mark made mention of this now coffeehouse as a water hole were he and others would meet, pray, fellowship and enjoy a great cup of coffee. The story of how he acquired this parcel of land is truly amazing. I won't spoil it for anyone but I would recommend his books and there he shares the story. Ebenezers is a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of nearby Union Station. The shop is always busy, but never overcrowded, and has a great neighborhood feel. My current order is the pumpkin pie latte with almond milk (it's that time of year, folks) and it's been a solid choice so far. The seasonal menu features lots of fun flavors that go beyond the basic pumpkin spice. It's definitely not the best coffee I've had in DC, but it gets the job done. They offer almond and soy milk as non-dairy options. The shop is also a nice place to work; the wifi is fast and free, the noise level is always relatively low, and the baristas don't judge you for ordering a second (or third) coffee. There isn't an abundance of seating, but there is plenty of variety, from a big shared table to cozy chairs facing the windows. Get there in the late morning or early afternoon to grab a spot! But perhaps best of all, the patio is a prime dogspotting and people-watching location. Get a coffee with some pals and prepare to pet all the dogs. read more

I'm overwhelmed by the fact that I've already found more than one exceptional coffeehouse in the area. Ebenezers happens to be one of them. This coffeehouse is owned and operated by Mark Batterson's National Community Church and is located right down the street from Union Station and the SEC on F Street. Once you go inside you're greeted by a beautiful interior and professional baristas. If you come early or on the weekend before noon, it has a steady flow of customers, but does not start to become packed until later in the day when it seems that more people take their coffees to stay a while. I haven't been here in the spring or summer, but they do have outdoor seating which I can't wait to use in a few months. They have food which people seemed to like including cinnamon rolls and kolaches. For me, the coffee is the highlight. Ebenezers serves "coffee with a cause". Their main roaster is One Village Coffee, a B Corporation using certified organic and fairly traded beans. The coffee is delicious and they serve something for all tastes whether you like flavored lattes, black coffee, or the simpler espresso drinks like cortados (my favorite!). I've been told that they make a mean hot chocolate too! I love coming here to sip coffee and to read or study. read more

The best time to go to Ebenezzer's is on a warm spring day. I love bing able to sit outside in the cute little neighborhood. The baristas are friendly and the coffee is good. Coffees are made a little on the sweet side generally, but the baristas are very flexible about toning it down and putting less syrup in them. They also have a very large downstairs room with big tables for studying or meeting up with friends. I'm giving it four stars because it's often very crowded and there is no place to sit, and because they often close the big room downstairs for special events. This would be a little less frustrating if they would answer their phone. I've often tried calling to make sure they are not going to close the downstairs room, ensuring I have a place to sit, but no one answers. So it's happened more than once that I make the trip over to Ebenezzer's, but then I'm asked to leave because they are closing the room and there is no where else to sit. read more

What a cool coffee shop! Kind of tucked in near Union Station. I came to Union Station to pick up someone but arrived early and happened to find a parking spot within a block away from Ebenezers. The interior is airy, there are street signs right inside so you can always tell your friend your exact location. ;) Service is friendly, coffee is not bitter and tasty and hot and plenty. My banana nut muffin was very fresh and soft. And at 8:30am on a Monday, it is not too crowded! This is a perfect place to pick up good coffee and breakfast before taking Amtrak to NYC. read more

The Space: This is one of my favorite places to grab coffee before I go on a trip out of union station. It is located less than a block away from the main union station entryway. During Covid there is not any indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating. I like that they space out the entire indoor section with suggested spots to stand while you wait to order/pick up. Outdoor seating is spacious but a little limited and there isn't as much shade if you are trying to dodge the DC sun! However, seems very clean and we'll social distanced for grabbing a quick coffee. The Drinks: My favorite drink here is the lavender latte. They also usually have unique seasonal options like vanilla rose latte. I like that they have the traditional options as well as fun and interesting flavors. It has definitely been a stand out and memorable coffee shop and I'm always curious to see what they put on their menu! read more

Wonderful and very cute! This cozy little gem of a coffeehouse (about a two minute walk from Union Station) is truly a good example of a place you can rely on for kicking back with your computer and a book for those times you need to get some work done or a good spot to read in peace. Similarly, it is just as good of a spot for meeting up with a friend and having a quick chat over a delicious latte (the honey lavender was interesting, albeit just a tad too sweet like many of the seasonal/rotational flavors). Sticking to the classic espresso-based drinks is always a wise option. Pastries are sold for a very reasonable price also! Seating is not exactly abundant, but there are a decent amount of chairs and different seating options available (great two-seaters by the windows for example) along with ample outdoor seating if that's what you're after (pictured). Service was very friendly and personable - gave off a great neighborhood vibe despite the close proximity to a landmark such as Union Station. Perfect place to spend the weekend doing nothing - one for the free weekend parking, and two because of its relaxing seating. They have high stools and comfy one-seaters along the sides of the shop, creating a very open (not claustrophobic) feel. Also - cold brews are strong. I live around the corner from Eb's and it is my favorite coffee shop in the area. Wide variety of coffee, lattes, and other bevs, but what draws me in each time are their seasonal drinks. They also have a sizeable pastry case which I have yet to try from. My favorite (current) seasonal drink is the apple spiced chai. I rave about it, my neighbors rave about it, it even rivals the famous honey lavender latte. I've tried the entire fall seasonal menu and still come back to this chai. Please keep it on the menu through winter! They have a lovely patio and during non-covid times they have ample seating indoors as well. They also have a rewards program where, when signed up via phone number, you can earn stars towards future purchases; only complaint here is that I wish the points were based per-dollar instead of per-visit. For example, you only get one star per visit (regardless of spend amount) instead of one star per $5 purchase. Although, that doesn't deter me from coming almost every sunday! read more

I visited Ebenezers Coffeehouse with a friend recently when we needed a break from walking around the city. When we stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, a singer songwriter was performing live music inside. We grabbed a couple of teas as well as a snack (we picked fruit, but they had pre-made sandwiches, pastries, and more). It's not a large coffee shop, but they had comfortable seating and it wasn't super crowded when we were there. Nice coffee shop overall. read more

Thank you Ebenezers for being the best! I live and work in the neighborhood, so I am a regular at this coffee shop and love everything about it. I didn't think I could love them more, but over the past few weeks they have been serving meals to folks who are experiencing homelessness. This is such an important service right now since so many things, including meal programs and day centers, have been temporarily closed because of the coronavirus. The staff who work in the coffee shop and who are passing out meals are so lovely and caring. They always have people standing on the sidewalk making sure people are keeping a safe distance while waiting in line and ensuring that everyone has what they need. Hot tip: they do a cup of coffee donation program, so if you're in the area, pop in and grab yourself a cup of coffee and donate a cup that can be given away for free! read more
