I've gone to the ebike store twice to get my two Radwagon 4 brakes serviced. Both times the staff were really nice and helpful. I was able to drop it them off the same day and pick them up the next day. Prices were very reasonable, under $100 both times. I would highly recommend checking them out if you need e-bike services. Note: They will only service the mechanical (brakes and shifter) for Rad bikes. Electrical service requires an authorized repair shop. read more

I visited this store because it was close to a friend's house. I intended to visit others but I was so pleased with the service and bikes that I ended up purchasing an e-bike from them. 1. Do get an appointment. We showed up without one and they were very helpful given the time they had. They really need to have time to help figure out your needs and do a good test ride with you. We made an appointment and came back for that. 2. They approach the sale as a win/win: They are very invested in making sure you buy the right bike for you. And if e-bikes are new to you, they spend time on a substantial test ride. They even welcomed my friend on our test ride even though she wasn't planning to buy a bike. 3. E-bikes exceeded my expectations: What great technology! I loved riding them and the test ride helped make sure I knew what I was doing comfortably. My friend also loved it so much she also ended up buying one. 4. Service after the commitment to buy: we had a minor miscommunication on my purchase. There was zero pressure to go ahead with something I didn't want. The Ebike store is first and foremost an amazing shop. Everyone is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They are experts in the field of bikes and ebikes and can help you figure out what you need. Bryan always asks me really detailed sorts of questions about why I like a certain feature on a bike. He asks about what I don't like and why. When I was very smitten with a certain bike I realized after the "cycletherapy" session that I really liked the basket but the other features were a step down from my wish list. I would be compromising instead of getting what I wanted. I really appreciate that sort of sales. He didn't have to do that. When I bought my first bike with them, the blue Como, it did not have it all. It didn't have a belt drive or the right color, but honestly it was the best available at the time. That was 2019! Since then, I put over 15K miles on that bike and then got the red Specialized Como. Specialized eBikes are really spectacular. You have to test ride one of them. It's a must! Be clear about your price point too. I say that because maybe you don't know how much of a bike and/or the quality you get at $1200, so be clear because it's a big deal and you should buy something you are going to ride! They carry Gazelle, Specialized, Electra, Tern, and an impressive collection of baskets, helmets, lights, pedals, bike racks for your car and other fun stuff like locks. It's a great shop with amazing people. My best advice is to test ride some bikes. Test ride 3 to 5 and think about what you like and what you really want and educate yourself about what the bikes can do. I commute 22 miles round trip and I need speed and efficiency. Both of my bikes, both Specialized bikes have been/are exceptional everyday, everywhere bikes. Talk to these great people about what you need and start the conversation. #ebikeanywhere read more

This store is a reaon never to buy on-line again. I can't even belive I considered buyig an Ebike online. One thing you can't get online is the experience. I have never purchased a luxury car, but I doubt even they would have taken this much care if I had. You should make an appoitment, as you will go out with a sales person for an hour to test ride the bikes. Than once you purchase, they set aside another hour to go over all the bells and whistles of the biked. I learned so much in this time. I had no idea there was so much to Ebikes. I got a Specialized bike and it even comes with an app for your bike, they also make sure you know how to use and setup the app. It is so cool. I just took my bike out for it's first ride this morning. SO far, I love, and thanks to the great staff I know how to ride it properply. read more

My partner and I are non affiliated and Detribalized people of the global majority and were met with a ton of white supremacy at this establishment. If you aren't white. Then they will not serve you. Simply. We came in last week and wanted to see about purchasing some bikes. They very rudely let us wait until another associate was able to schedule an appointment we apparently needed to have. Then we we make it. No problem. We show up today and on time. We saw they were taking care of their white sisters and brothers but were ignoring us again. They made her appointment right in front us. Even had her get fitted on a bike and helmet while we were just watching in disgust. This sort of blatant racism is the problem with Portland in general. read more

We worked with Bryan from information about e-bikes to buying our e-bikes to picking up our bikes and receiving a personal training session! Top notch from beginning to end! Decent selection of e-bikes, unfortunately the customer service is lacking. I was in the neighborhood and had been shopping for an e-bike, so I stopped in to look. Was flatly told that if I didn't have an appointment, I wouldn't receive any help. That was no lie. That was the only interaction that I had with the staff in the time that I was there. Revisiting their website, if you wait long enough before clicking a menu option there is a scrolling banner that says "call for an appointment"... it doesn't state that the appointment is mandatory. I wanted to begin bike commuting and had done a bit of looking online, but the ability to try out bikes in person was invaluable. Andrew was incredibly helpful and I rode about 5 different models and ended up choosing the Specialized Vado--which is a dream. Andrew was very knowledgeable about bikes, maintenance, battery care, and just a really patient and enjoyable person to be around. The Bike store is very busy and they recommend making an appt.--if you just walk in no one may be available at short notice. After Andrew spent close to two hours with me, I can see why appts are necessary. Really everyone at this place was very friendly; you can tell they want to help you make the best decision in regards to buying an ebike. I've been to many other bike shops and they seem either overzealous or indifferent, the eBike Store is right in the middle. The test ride experience is set up to answer all questions in a non-rushed, enjoyable experience. There's no pressure to buy, no annoying follow up phone calls (I came in once before,) and everyone seems to like working at the store. There is a lot to be said for customer service, and eBike Store delivers. Andrew was upfront when I called,time they are quite busy and suggested I make an appointment. So glad I did. There were lots of people coming and going. Granted I was there on Memorial Day. I chose the bike I wanted and and was able to pick it up a couple days later. The hour long instruction was well worth the time. Andrew was thorough and patient. Next day I rode 19 miles and felt great. Just what I needed. I expect the same service as things come up. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! I hate to leave bad reviews but for the sake of others here's my experience. I was trying to buy an e-bike worth $10k and I have no time that day to see the bike and they offered me to put a down. I didn't want to do this cause I will be charge 5% to cover some fees holding the bike and the down payment. I then called the next day to confirm and put a down on the bike but given there's discrepancies on the on-line price and how much they are selling it in-store I was told to call the next day cause they need to check with the owner. So I called as soon as they opened the next day which is 11am, I was told the sales representative(Andrew) who assisted me was busy setting up their bikes outside. I decided to come in person and got there around 20mins after 11. This staff told me immediately that the bike got sold for a full price!! I then ask why he didn't call me back and he assumed that I wasn't interested and someone paid it in full price! This is a bad customer service and will not be patronized if this is the kind of business they do. He even said that they will for sure match the website price which is lower and just need to check with the owner. I was even actually trying to put a down payment the day before they closed but of course I understand he needs to double check this. I was also left in the dark for 2 days in a row that someone will call me back but no one did! I have to call back instead to follow-up and same to the owner that I ask to call me cause he was in the store that day who's busy according to the staff I talked to but never received a call back. I end up pre-ordering direct from the manufacturer through a known bike store by MLK Portland instead. They just lost a valuable customer(multiple!) with this cause I have other friends getting into e-bike planning to purchase as well. I will definitely not gonna recommend this place. No word of honor and unprofessional treatment cause I was already in the process of buying the bike and gave me the final price to purchase it. I would have appreciated it if they called and said that they can't offer the bike anymore to me cause they have someone willing to pay higher price. Very dishonest cause even if the price of the bike on the manufacturer's website specify the lower price they still sell the bike at a higher price which i get it they want to have profit but this was a huge waste of my time. read more

I really felt cared about at this place. The folks at the ebike store want people to learn how to ride well and want people to be bike fitted well. Very conscientious place. As someone who hasn't ridden a bike in a long time - and someone who is nearing 60 with creaky knees, this was a great place to go. You make an appt to go, they help you select a bike or two or three to try and they ride with you (not on your bike with you-- that would be a little too much and awkward) around the neighborhood helping you learn about the ebikes you are wanting to try. Exemplary service and great bikes. This is one of the best bicycle rental shops I've used period. They are not a full-on rental or tour guide service. This is a proper bike shop that also rents bikes to facilitate sales of e-bikes. We rented the Raleigh and Specialized Kumo for the wife. Great bikes and can reach speeds of up to 30mph, which is great for exploring Portland in a day. Rental for a day was only $35 per bike, with helmet and lock included in the rental. The location is about 10 minutes out of downtown. We had Tom help us get all set up, who took his time and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you. read more

Perhaps it was just one rude employee and perhaps the rest of the staff is fine, but my experience here was not at all good. I set up an appointment and exchanged emails regarding the ebike I wanted to buy. Drove two hours and showed up on time and was treated like I smelled like yesterday's rotten fish. Acted like was I lying when I said I was told that a specific model was available for test ride. It was not. Was refused entry into the store for no given reason until I said I needed to use a restroom. If COVID is the reason for no entry, I get that but this rude young man would not even state the reason I was being told no entry. He just gave me a smug look like maybe this Old Man is just wasting his time. No offer to notify me when the bike of my choice might come in. No offer to put my name on a waitlist. So, I drove across town and received courteous service and purchased my $3500 bike. I don't like writing negative reviews but if the management decides to train this staff member better than it is worth my time to avoid others this type of behavior and pathetic customer service. read more

I drove 1 hour to the e-bike store without an appointment, and was given at least 1 hour to trial several bikes on the street and on a nearby park hill with one of the employees. He was very thorough and explained so many of the functions of the bikes. Several weeks later, my husband called the store and put my Specialized Levo on hold until we could drive back to purchase it. At the appointment time, the bike was ready to go, and Bryan spent over an hour answering my many questions about maintenance, and going over every part of the bike. We rode the bike again, and I learned how to properly shift and change modes. Last week, I just had my 300-400 mile free service check, and again, I was so amazed about the amount of time I was given to ask more questions. Instead of dropping off the bike for days, I was able to come back in 1 hour, and the bike was ready to go. They really saved me from another 2 hour round trip to pick it up! This week I purchased a Gazelle Arroyo C8 HMB from The eBike Store in north Portland. It's a bustling professional shop with knowledgeable and attentive staff. While they carry the top brands you'd expect to see, in the hour or so I was there they sold three (Royal Dutch) Gazelles; two Arroyos and one EasyFlow. If you're shopping for an electric bike it would be my suggestion to select an established brand, and not a Johnny come lately importing Chinese bikes. You don't want to be two or three years down the road and need parts or a battery to learn the brand has vanished. Royal Dutch Gazelle has been in business for 125 years and the "Royal Dutch" nomenclature is conferred VERY selectively by the monarchy. They're not going anywhere, and accordingly their bikes have the longest warranty that I've seen. Thanks for RUINING my Christmas by selling me a Defective Ebike!*** I'm Legally Disabled & now I've lost my major mode if Transportation?? So I take my Specialized Turbo Como 5.0 IGH Ebike in for some minor service today & one of the guys there (has a short grayish beard) starts arguing with me, trying to hustle me? He accused me of breaking my Garmin Radar over & over again? He became really nice all of a sudden when I said I'll just take my Ebike somewhere else. My Garmin Radar was torn by excess leaves being trapped in the back mud flap area causing my Ebike to come to a complete stop going about 20 mph? My Ebike has a Defective Back Mud Flap Design & has Defective Back Brakes? The guy looks at me like I'm lying or stupid? I've NEVER had an issue like this with my past 3 Ebikes back mud flaps? Then he wants to bleed my breaks after only 2 months & charge me a big fee? The guy that sold me my Ebike there also was really rude / pushy & only cares about how much money you have to spend. Basically, this Ebike Store is now for yuppies. I'm not coming back again. You lost my business because you treated me like garbage & tried to hustle me. read more

I had a really positive experience today at The eBike Store. Aside from the excellent no-pressure assistance from the store (kudos to Bryan!), I was very happy with their COVID19 procedures. No one is allowed inside the store, the entire sales experience occurred outside. There's a tent with a remote terminal for any sales, and the visits are appointment only so you don't have to worry about social distancing. read more

Impossible to contact by phone without listening to elongated recorded announcement and when someone finally answers be ready to be put on hold and good luck with a direct response to your questions. They all work close by one another yet their staff communication stunk like doo-dio when addressing my bike's issue Caught a bad vibe from the shop owner who bullshitted my ebike in for repair with false cofidence rhetoric I later called him on and of course he denied. This owner behaved rudely and provided the poorest level of oversight for technical evaluation and customer service I can recall experiencing in tandem when dealing with a high dollar, supposedly serviceable, recreational purchase. I found dealing with these players to be futile and very exhausting , just a lot of headache and lousy, gray, dismal poopy-like customer service. This shop's staff portrays itself as a professional authority on ebikes. I found no evidence of this in my dealings there. read more

On 9 May 2022 around 4:30 pm I called this shop to inquire if the had a Specialized SL Range Extender Battery and Road Bike (220 mm) cable. The male individual on the phone said yes. Then asked if I purchased the bike from this shop. When I said I didn't, he said he wouldn't sell me the battery. It's only for their customers. This item can't be purchased on-line thru Specialized. I asked to speak to the owner and the individual said he would take my name and number and the owner will return my call in the future. read more
