I made the mistake of cutting my hair with my dad, and we ended up with a very lopsided situation I knew I needed a professional to fix it, so I went to see Delaney--and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I sat in her chair, she was incredibly attentive, calm, and genuinely sweet. She took the time to really look at what was going on with my hair and explained what she was going to do to fix it. I appreciated how patient and reassuring she was throughout the whole process. Delaney completely fixed my uneven cut and turned what felt like a disaster into a super cute style that I actually love. My teen son went in for a trim. He has been trying to grow his hair out for a while and told the stylist he wanted to clean it up a bit. He had really pretty medium curly hair and he thought it was getting messy so he decided to get a light snip to make it grow better. The woman (name starts with a J) he went to obviously doesn't know how to trim curly hair because she butchered his beautiful curls. Don't tell my son I said this because he might fall into deep depression but It looks horrible: like an unskilled child took some dull sewing scissors and lopped off their dolls hair. The hairstyle she gave him makes him look like Toadstool (from Mario) or like he's wearing a smashed wig version of a motorcycle helmet like, omg wtf? Careless & amateur quality. I could have done better, dull kitchen scissors, untrained and all. If you have curls do yourself a favor and go somewhere where people know how to cut your beautiful curly hair. read more

TLDR: IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO DO SOMETHING JUST SAY YOU DONT. Please be an advocate for your client. This review is not for Angie. I went to Angie for 5+ years with maintaining blonde/silver hair. She is AMAZING & I can't recommend her enough as she not only cares about her clients' vision for their hair but also cares about your hair health! I had to discontinue my appointments with Angie due to her responsibilities outside the salon (Miss you angie!). There are 2 hairstylist that i was recommended in the meantime, Jenny & Nikki. At this time my hair was very grey & very long. I wanted to go lighter. My first appointment was with Nikki in October 2019. I am so beyond disappointed with how incompetent & lack of awareness I've experienced as a client. I wanted to tone my hair to go LIGHTER & even showed a reference picture that she asked for. By the end of the session my hair was BROWN. I told her this was not what I had asked for & she insisted it was. I'll attach a before & after picture taken in the same week (AM I BLIND OR??? CAUSE THAT IS NOT LIGHTER THAN GREY). So she toned it again & it became even darker! Trying to convince me that this is what I wanted!! She said she would fix it again but I would still have to pay the 300$ for the service. I am baffled. So much of MY MONEY gone to waste after 5+ years trying to get to the stage of blonde I was at. Being blonde is a process nor is it cheap & she ruined that. She didn't even seem sympathetic & I assumed she would understand given that she's uh.. a hairstylist!! I ended up paying for the service & Angie had to fix it as much as she could (bless your heart). Not to mention when I came back that day, Nikki was there & did not apologize to me at all. A sincere apology could've gone a long way but ignoring me burned a hole in her professionalism. My 2nd appointment was with Jenny. At this point my hair is yellow blonde & I wanted to tone it on the cooler lighter side. She did ask if I wanted to add olaplex for 100$ more but I said no (I have the same product at home for more than half of that w my license in the service industry). Saying no doesn't mean for my hair to start shredding off in the sink right then & there. She kept asking me "so how long have you been blonde for?" several times as I would reply "5+ years".I've been very blonde for quite some time & I try to keep up with my hair health as best as I can. She didn't even tell me my hair was breaking off until I started noticing it as I got home. Girl, you over processed my hair w bleach. Please if you've made a mistake, let your client know!! Be an advocate for your client! By June 2020, my crown had broken off. It was about 2 inches long. A mullet y'all. I resorted to buying lacefront wigs in the meantime for it to grow. I was embarrassed & incredibly sad that my time & money had gone to waste. What I'm really disappointed about is that both of them didn't notify me, THEIR CLIENT, & take accountability, let alone acknowledge their mistake. It appears that you cared about making a quick buck regardless of the longevity of your client's hair. It has taken me up until now (Feb 2022 almost 2 freaking years) to get my hair back to an even length to my chest. It was unnecessary for all that I had to go through (more salon visits, extensions, etc.) if only they were honest or paid attention to their client. Sophia saved my hair! What a transformation. I'm almost embarrassed to post the before picture but it just goes to show why I needed this visit! I came in last Saturday hoping for miracles but Sophia wanted to make sure we took best process possible to get my hair where it needed to be. She tested my hair to see the lift and we made an appointment for a makeover today. She still cut my hair and gave me a blow out, which already made a huge difference. To start, your stylist offers you coffee, water, tea, before your hair session starts. Then they continue with a neck massage using essential oils. I've never been to a salon where making you comfortable or feel relaxed is important. And now to the most important part of my experience at this location was my stylist. Her name is Adrianna. I have been getting my hair done by Adrianna M for a while now. I am a loyal client because she is amazing at what she does. She truly listens to what you want and always puts her best efforts forward in order to get the look that you want. She knows me so I trust her opinion and her taste. She is also very accommodating with my schedule and makes sure we have our appointments because she knows how important hair is and how important my hair apts are to me. :) We worked together about 2 to 3 times altering a color formula to get it closer and closer to the exact color I was wanting and when we found it we were so excited. She saved it and now I have a perfect, custom color that I have used for about 1.5 years! I love aveda products and what the brand stands for, so naturally when it was time took find a hair stylist in my area I searched yelp for an aveda salon near me. I was able to schedule my appointment on their online platform which was super easy to use. They even send automatic reminders and confirmations, super convenient. I had a basic idea of what I wanted. I showed Adriana some inspiration photos and she started her magic. I chose my stylist Adriana from photos I saw posted on this page, and I'm so glad I was able to book with her. She was super sweet and gave me great recommendations. Her technique was amazing and my hair looks flawless. Services received were ombré, cut and blowout. The process took about 2.5 hrs but seriously time flies when you're having fun! Bad experience with this place. I showed up on time to my 1st appointment with them and then my stylist was late 30 minutes for the appointment. I let it go at the time and gave them the benefit of the doubt, i waited patiently for her to show up. The second appointment with the same stylist my hair turned out white instead of blonde so i had to go back to get it fixed. This 3rd and last appointment i had i showed up 15 minutes late and was told i had to reschedule even though i waited for a half an hour the first visit and didn't make a big deal about it. I went here on a whim (after I had read all the reviews here on Yelp). I wasn't looking for a new salon, just somewhere I could get a good cut and on short notice (same day). I called and was booked with Danny. I actually asked if anyone else was available because I had never had a guy cut my hair. However, they didn't have any other openings when I wanted it. So, I went. Danny was very kind, and listened to all my weird explanations about my head of hair. He took into consideration the thickness of my hair, how much I have, and really, everything that makes a difference when getting your hair cut. He was patient, and walked me through what he was going to do. I don't want this to get too long, so I'll cut it short... He did an amazing job. You know when you're getting a haircut and you can't really tell if you like it or not when it's wet? Well, I could. Even when my hair was wet I could tell that I liked what he was doing. The layers were perfect and perfectly placed. He took into consideration where my hair was fuller and where it was not, and cut accordingly. And this is what really impressed me: The way he styled my hair. Normally, after I get my hair done I go home and wash it out. And that's ok... No one else knows how I do my hair. But this time around, once all was said and done, I looked in the mirror and was floored. My hair fell perfectly. It wasn't flat and he didn't try to force hairs over where they didn't belong (bangs specifically). I actually came home and didn't put it up in a ponytail or hop in the shower to restyle it. I left it the way it was. Ok, so I guess this review isn't as short and sweet as I said it was going to be... But, I wanted to express how happy I was with my appointment. I would highly recommend Danny. He took my normal head of hair that was just "meh", and gave it bounce again. Without lopping it all off. And he listened! Before I start I must say I only get my haircut once every 2 years or so to cut off all the dead ends. With that said.. the Echelon salon is a nice little place. On walking in however, there was no one at the front desk and I had to wait a few minutes until one of the stylist called to the receptionist who was hanging out in the back. Once greeted and seated I was offered coffee or water which is very nice touch. I'm not sure if the stylists are independently contracted or how it works, but I was set up with Nicki. She ended up coming in 15 minutes after my appointment time, smelled of old cigarettes and looking as if she just rolled out of bed. She was very nice, however. I was given a choice in scented oils and had a little shoulder and neck massage, a shampoo and blow dry. I showed Nicki the V Cut style I was going for but ultimately gave her the free reigns to take everything dead off the ends. As with any haircut, I always feel that more or taken off than needed. Although I'm mostly happy with my haircut, I do feel like too much was taken off but I suppose I'm the only one to blame for that since I told her to take everything dead off. I was nicely surprised, however, that first time visitors get $25 off making the $75 haircut $50 along with some sample sized hair products.
