We came in about 11:15am for a late breakfast. Our first time here. We weee promptly seated and our drink order was taken and delivered in a timely manner. After a short time our waitress came and took our order, she was very pleasant. 11:30am - no food 11:45am - no food 12:00noon - no food, people around us are leaving, new coming in. 12:15pm - waitress comes to our table and tells us that "the machine" misprinted our order, our food should be out shortly. I'm sorry but this is very suspect to me, everybody else's orders were printed correctly and how does a machine misprint unless the operator mis-entered? When the food came it was good, but an extremely long wait, would have preferred to have just been told the truth....giving a rating of four but 3.5 is how I feel.

Can't believe I haven't left a review for this place yet..Lol.. My midnight crew from work and I would try and visit weekly on Fridays..well we all went to different shifts and that ended. So when my hubby and I go for breakfast we always forget this place. Not today!! Stopped in and were seated right away. The atmosphere is like 50's diner on the outside and inside. Red leather seats and old signs and the black and white check floor. I ordered the Breakfast fries but instead of fries I had them add their potatoes. Talk about yum! The eggs over hard on top of them with their gravy and the cheese chunks.. then I get some of their sourdough toast which is to die for. My hubby even ordered the same as I did and loved it as well. He even ordered a stack of pancakes which were light and fluffy. They have daily specials and a case full of goodies when you check out too.

I love this gem of an independent eatery! We have never been disappointed with anything on the menu. Their baked goods are amazing and they offer gluten free. If you have the chance to stop, your taste buds will be forever gra

Do not judge a book by its cover. This diner is a classic gem and a wonderful family-friendly foodie destination! The food is hearty and made with TLC. The space is very clean and well-taken care of. The is a ton of parking in the front and back. From the fresh coffee, to the fresh fluffy biscuits with gravy, all the way down to the potatoes, fresh fruit and blueberry zucchini bread, everything was tasty and delicious! We will absolutely make this a mandatory regular visit for future trips back to Ohio.

Breakfast: Let me tell you about breakfast~ WOW....Dive Ass Diner is what we found for sure! *Eclectic Diner & Sweeterie in Delaware. The service was great and the food, ohhhh the food was scrumptious. If you go, get the Blueberry Zucchini bread and when asked if you want it grilled the answer is YES I will drive the 90 min trip to go again!!

Great little eclectic diner off of 23, pun intended. I've driven by this place literally a hundred times never popped in and try it but now I can honestly say that I did stop in and I cannot drive by without stopping in ever again!

The food here is amazing! Definitely the best diner in town. We have tried their breakfast and their lunch and have loved every meal. You have to try their grilled cinnamon roll it is amazing.

And I think that might have been our downfall. We went the breakfast route and started with a Cinnamon roll made right on the griddle. It created this crispy char that gave the roll more of a funnel cake texture. Unique, and the icing definitely enhances it (as it does most cinnamon rolls). Their special breakfast sandwich, "The Morning Wake-up" touts a "2x the size English Muffin" and they were not lying. This sandwich had cheese, multiple meats and vegetables, and I needed to take half of it home due to sheer size. What it didn't have... sauce. What it needed... sauce, syrup, aioli or something to lubricate all of those toppings. The breakfast potatoes on the side needed salt/seasoning/sauce, too, to be more to my liking. It was a similar experience with my wife's Reuben and the fries that she ordered; the sandwich had its moments, but it made me wish one of us got a burger like most of the other patrons.

Backstretch is super casual (given Ohio Wesleyan is nearby - its almost a college/town bar) but great to come in a sit at the bar or one of their booths. It isnt big, maybe 15-20 bar stools and 12 booths and 1-2 tables. This time we picked a booth and a great server (Jacobi) helped us right away. Fun part of backstretch is the staff. Servers are friendly, you can watch the cooks prepare your food, and they have a full bar. Note they dont have many draft beer options, but servers tried hard to get us something we liked. Food here is fresh off the grill and tastes like home cooked food - from their Reuben(which was amazing) to Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (has kick but so good) - you cant go wrong. This time we added Tots, Mac and Cheese, and the Deviled eggs (most sandwiches are served with a deviled egg - tasty). We also tried Jacobi recommendation of Hencock Tots - wing sauce - cheese and bacon. Should have just made that my meal. Amazing. They dont take reservations but unless there is an event in downtown, you can usually walk in for dinner. This was our third visit in 60 days! Ready to go back - thanks Jacobi for a fun night and see you all soon.

I enjoyed the French omelette and the dressing on the side salad was probably my favorite part! My mom loved the smash burger and the waffle fries were amazing and crunchy. My dad enjoyed the country fried steak with egg and also liked the fries. My brother ordered the best out of all of us! The shakshouka was to die for! Definitely give that a try if you have a chance. Our server, Tony, deserves his own fan club. He was the perfect combination of kind, attentive, and genuinely funny--the type of person who could probably convince you to order a shoe if it came with the chef's balsamic reduction. Speaking of which, I had the filet medallions with said reduction, and let me just say: if I could marry a sauce, this would be "the one." My friend ordered the scallops with risotto, and she ate every last grain of rice like she was guarding treasure. Special shoutout to Matt, the manager, who went above and beyond to accommodate my many food allergies without making me feel like "that" customer. Instead, he treated it like a fun culinary puzzle to solve. Food? Phenomenal! Service? Flawless! Atmosphere? Just the right mix of cool and comfortable. Regrets? Only that I didn't take a picture... but that just means I have to go back.
