Punctual and provided excellent service. They educated us on what they were doing prior to doing it. I'd recommend them and use them again.

    Ask the Community - EcoClean

I live in a condo. How long does it take for the carpeting to dry?

Hi Linda! The dry time is about 4-6 hours.

Can area rugs be dropped off for cleaning?

Yes of course! All we ask is for a courtesy call to be made into the office line. We tend to step out from time to time and we want to make sure someone is here to retrieve your area rug!

    Do they move furniture?

Yes! Just nothing too fragile or too heavy. Anything we can move we will move out of the way, clean underneath it, and put back where it was on foam blocks. Anything we can’t move we will just work around and try to get to as much carpet underneath… Read more

The Grout Medic of West/Southwest Chicagoland

    (94 reviews)

I hired The Grout Medic to replace the caulk in my shower, but what I got was an entirely new…read moreshower stall. They not only took out the old caulk around the tile and replaced it, but also the clear caulk between the glass and the framing. And not only that, they cleaned all the tile, grout, and glass surround. Pete was meticulous. He did an even better color-matching job of the caulk than what was there originally. He also found some areas under the entrance to the shower stall that had never been caulked. You had to lay on the floor and look up under the doorway to the shower to be able to see it, and he found it and fixed it. Their service isn't cheap, but you know what they say, you get what you pay for. With The Grout Medic you get MORE than what you pay for! I highly recommend them.

The grout medic couldn't be more disappointing with their service. Joe was a terrible salesman and…read morecould not honor the proposal that was laid out. The proposal had the following written down: "remove existing caulk and loose crack grout in seams as necessary". Their job was to remove old existing caulk and lay down new caulk. When the technician arrived, he said that none of the old caulk would be removed prior to the new caulk being applied. He was simply going to caulk over existing material. I immediately postponed the project and contacted the project rep (Joe) for clarity. I've had caulk jobs completed in my old house in the past; never once did they suggest that this was acceptable practice. Old material has to be removed prior to laying down new silicone. For a company that specializes in these types of projects, I was shocked that Joe was vouching for the technician. He was unprofessional, agitated, and made it sound like it was my fault that I was adhering to the proposal that he laid out. Do not do any caulk jobs at this company. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who wants a job done right. EDIT (11.30.25) Since Joe (or whoever else) is choosing to incorrectly describe a situation they were not there for, I'll reiterate the following: -Pete, the technician who was present, HAD ABSOLUTELY NO INTENTION OF REMOVING ANY EXISTING CAULK. HE SHOWED ME EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO WHEN HE APPLIED THE NEW CAULK DIRECTLY ON THE OLD CAULK. I EVEN SAID THE FOLLOWING BEFORE STARTING: "MY DAUGHTER IS SLEEPING RIGHT NOW, BUT YOU CAN START UPSTAIRS FIRST, SHE PROBABLY WON'T WAKE UP", TO WHICH HE REPLIED "OH DON'T WORRY, THIS WON'T TAKE TOO LONG. I WON'T BE MAKING MUCH NOISE AT ALL, IT'LL BE OVER PRETTY QUICK". I've removed caulk in the past, and it is not a quiet job. It takes elbow grease and effort to remove old caulk (hence why I made these statements about my daughter sleeping in a room across the bathroom). -The color caulk statement is completely inaccurate, as I told them multiple days in advance that I wanted mapei avalanche to be the color (see attached e-mail). There was nothing to discuss on the day of the job as it relates to the color. There was nothing to sample, as everything had been picked already. -I asked the technician point blank: "ARE YOU NOT GOING TO REMOVE THE OLD CAULK?" He replied with "NO I AM NOT. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO DO THEN?" I followed up with the statement "LET'S HOLD OFF FOR NOW UNTIL I CONTACT JOE ABOUT THIS, BECAUSE THE CONTRACT SAYS SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN WHAT YOU'RE DESCRIBING." They are trying to make it sound like I wanted to waste MY time and their time the day after thanksgiving. Trust me when I say this, I've never had to ask a contractor to leave my house for a job prior to this. I don't gain anything by "lying". I don't gain anything by them not finishing the project. I shifted my entire schedule to make this happen. I was extremely disappointed they did not honor their agreement, as this pushes the project timeline back even further. -Since we're talking about inconsistencies, here is another one: the technician mentioned that the weep holes in the first floor shower SHOULD NOT BE CAULKED. Joe, the rep, said the COMPLETE OPPOSITE when he came by for the original estimate. The tech looked at me flabbergasted by these statements that Joe made. Again, this is another example where they weren't even on the same page at all. Even now, I don't know who is correct on this matter. They talk about "being in alignment with NTCA practices", yet they aren't even in alignment on this particular issue. I am laying down the facts and have the evidence to support my statements. This isn't hearsay.
