Do not hire Eco Floors! First I spoke with Nate who was rude and said they would only come and give me a quote if I were to pay $100.00. I told him I have never been asked to pay a fee for a quote from any company. I finally agreed. His dad Scott came out to measure the house with a tape measurer and had over 2,000 extra square feet than what was quoted by another company who measured the floors with a laser. Nate had told me on the phone before his dad came out that they charged $5.50 per square feet. But when we got the quote it was $6.25 per square feet with many extra charges. When I asked about the difference in price and square feet Nate said "why was I challenging him on the quote" and that he now refuses to do business with me because I questioned their pricing. I am so thankful that I did not go with them. And while I asked to get my $100 back (of which he refused) I guess it was worth the money to find out what they are like and saved me from doing business with them. read more

We needed the concrete basement of an old house leveled as much as possible (had both low and high spots) before installing a new flooring material. Scott S. of Ecofloors came within a few days of our calling the store to evaluate the concrete and provide an estimate for a "hybrid" fix of grinding and liquid leveling. We accepted the estimate for the floor prep and also their proposal to install new flooring. Within just a few days they started and finished the floor prep. After the necessary drying they got the new floor in quickly. Both Scott and Nate S., and their installer Kier, were professional, skilled and kept us very apprised of their schedule. Didn't end up going with EcoFloors because I found their salesperson really difficult. They won't schedule any kind of home visit unless you visit their showroom, so I rearranged my schedule to show up during their hours. It seemed like I was interrupting the salesperson and when we did talk, they gave me all the reasons the product I wanted would be hard/difficult and a challenge for their installers - without having seen my house. They explained that their installers were busy and that I should do the work to follow up with them to make sure that they could get someone out to measure the spaces I want worked on. At one point I stopped and asked the salesman if they were actively trying to dissuade me from buying and installing their product. So glad I found EcoFloors! We have bamboo floors in a 20 year old house that were damaged by a leak in the roof. Trying to find a flooring company that would deal with bamboo was a challenge. But Matt at the shop was so helpful. Not only could they help with my questions on bamboo, but also had other environmentally friendly options to consider. I had a respected flooring company come to bid on the project, but found that they were relying on me to already know what I wanted. Re​pair was not an option or considered. I made an appointment to go to the showroom, but they had not scheduled it on their calendar, and so I was given only 30 minutes of their time, and no time to answer all the questions I had. Then Nate from ECOFLOORS came to the home to measure, and really helped me look at how I could repair or replace my floors. He was able to give his opinions about the options that I really appreciated. His suggestions included low cost fixes as well as ideas for complete flooring updates and replacement. By giving me a complete menu of options, and their pros and cons, I am left with a lot of decisions to make, but a much clearer picture of all the options I do have. The reviews don't lie on this company, top notch operation. We worked with Sam and David on reflooring our entire new house. Sam did a great job of directing us towards surfaces that met all of our needs (cork, hardwood, carpet). We wanted to work with all natural material, have dog friendly carpet, and other odds and ends. Sam had an immediate solution to all of our needs. They were extremely busy, but fit our project in, and got it done early. We even added a small project in at the end they were able to accomodate. All the employees were respectful to our home and to us and communicated with any questions on how we wanted the work done. Dave walked us through the different options, had plenty of samples available, and clearly explained the pros/cons of the various types of flooring we were considering. We chose EcoFloors not only because they had a great price (better than anywhere else in Portland that we talked to), but also because Dave deeply understood the products he was selling. For example, he had a lot of advice to offer about this type of LVP flooring and the pros/cons of using the "nose" pieces of their stairs vs. going with custom hardwood stairs. NIGHTMARE!!! I WOULD NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THEM!!!! I hired them because the said "we are professional floor layers and we take our jobs very seriously!" THAT WAS A JOKE!! They laid flooring that was from 2 dye lots (when the first line on the instructions sheet says to individually inspect each board before laying) then thet tried to tell me it was normal! Shaw hired an independent inspector and confirmed the color was incorrect, the floor was NOT leveled and the boards actually popped when you walked on them, the boards by my sink were seperated and would pinch your foot. I disputed on my credit card and they offered me free installation. Dave said " how about you buy some pretty little carpet runners and just cover the areas you don't like! ARE YOU KIDDING ME WHAT NERVE!! Since I disputed it they wanted to come immediately to remove my floor. I said for 2 months I've been sleeping on the floor and paying for a storage crate because of you so you won't be able to pick it up till after Christmas because I'm not having my holiday ruined. I have an autistic daughter that blows up and she destroyed my house on Christmas....I explained that to them and they said " I'm really sorry but we'll be there at 9am tomorrow to take the flooring" SO in removing the floor I discover their unique/ failed leveling system...THEY USED PAD SCRAP AND CARDBOARD BOXES TO LEVEL MY FLOOR!!! AND NO, I'M NOT KIDDING!!!! Then they come and take the floor leaving my daughter and I on FREEZING COLD CEMENT FLOORS (In which they "kindly" left the padding, lol) till I can find something else!! They have no use for that floor nor was there a rush to remove it. I have a tiny 600 sq ft apt and the flooring is now used so they can't even resell it! read more

Ecofloors' installer Mario did a fabulous job with the marmoleum click tiles he installed in our kitchen and laundry room. The seams are all but invisible -- you have to look for them, and he went the extra mile to get the flooring and molding to fit beautifully around all the weird jigs and jogs (It's an old house). He dealt with unforeseen problems -- some rot in the underflooring and an ancient piece of asbestos-backed linoleum under that -- in the laundry room. He also offered to put in some baseboard that the previous owners had never got around to installing. The job took longer than he thought it would, but he never cut corners or left off to work another job. He had no problem picking up a different color of threshold molding for me because I wasn't enthusiastic about the first one he brought over. Mario takes a lot of pride in his work, is very skilled, and wants the customer to be happy. The guys in the office are responsive and easy to work with too. Are there any downsides to EcoFloors? It can take a while for them to get to your job because they're in high demand, and a couple times I called to check on where we were in the process. No big deal. read more

I replaced my 1940 hardwood floors in August. When I started shopping, I thought I wanted hardwood, but surprised myself in going with bamboo. I checked with four different floor companies and chose Ecofloor, because 1) they had the product with the best color for me, 2) they had my quote promptly and answered all my questions and 3) I like to support local family-owned businesses when I can. The three installers worked really well together, cleaned up nicely, and were a nice crew.
