After an early dinner on our first evening of vacation we decided to walk here to check it out and enjoy a beer or two. There is an awesome mural on the front of the building along with a nice courtyard out front with picnic tables, umbrellas and beautiful trees. The indoor space is gorgeous! So wonderfully designed and decorated! They have some tables and chairs, two separate seating areas with couches and chairs along with the seating at the bar. I peeked out back with it's much larger than the front outdoor space and had seating as well. The stout was awesome (I'm a stout person)! Here is one of the best things that we did not know when coming here, they have cats! I think one lives inside, Patrick, and they take care of 15 cats that live on their property. I am a cat person, so walking in and seeing a cat inside, I thought I was in heaven! Patrick sat on my lap or with us during both of our visits. I seriously couldn't have been happier. A fantastic brewery stop on our NOLA run. The outdoor space is divided, with a rather open front space lined with greenery. I'll call it the catio. This may be (no surprise) my favorite part, tho the library toilet gives it a good run. This is where the cat shelters, food & water are & you can expect to be able to spot at least one kitteh, probably more. Some will think pets are a good idea, while others may react like they've never seen it a human before. I love that these guys are caring for the local cat population, including vetting. Inside is warm & welcoming, with staff that are happy to help you pick your poison. Out back, you'll be in a lush garden-space. They even have a can of insect repellent to prevent the mosquito buffet. The icing on the cake, the beer was good, too. We liked it enough to go back the day before we left! read more

Ecology Beer is an interesting new brewery that has a good combination of indoor and outdoor space. My friend that brought me here for the first time told me that the owner was also a landscape architect so that is a big reason they have laid out such an interesting place and space. The design here also includes several very different and very interesting looking bathrooms here. My friends and I meandered here after the CCC race in New Orleans, and it was absolutely wonderful. The indoor space is large and airy with tables and some comfy chairs and a couch. If you stay around long enough, Patrick, the beautiful orange tabby, will decide your lap needs warming and will take a nap for a bit. The outdoor space is just perfect, large and shady with a lot of seating. We relaxed here for a while. Behind the bar, well, you couldn't find a more helpful crew! I threw out the mood I was in, and I enjoyed two different beers - one IPA and one coffee porter, both hit he spot, and were both nice to budget. I hope to make it back to try more of the brews and maybe just sit and enjoy another beautiful day! read more

I can't believe it's taken me so long to try this brewery! This has instantly become a brewery that I will be visiting when I'm craving a good IPA. This brewery has a gorgeous space both inside and outside. There are lots of places to sit and outside space both in front and in back. Definitely a wonderful space to chill out by yourself or hang out with friends. The beertender was super friendly and knowledgeable. He's been working there since they opened and knows the beers well! He made some solid recommendations and even let me try a few before settling on an IPA. They are also big lovers of the stray kitties and have a few locals that hang around to socialize with the guests. There was also a fundraiser going to help one of the stray kitties! We love exploring the brewery scene in NOLA. We decided to check this place out and had a great time. The service was top notch. Although I love the brewery vibe and experience, I'm not really a beer person, but I was able to try their hard seltzer, which was a muted cherry lime flavor. It was refreshing. My spouse had a beer. The weather was nice so we were able to go out and relax on the patio. The interior was really cute. I loved the eclectic bathroom! The BEERS are clearly thought out. Beers very clean, and all brewed in a non-gimmicky way while being unique. Personal favorite included a a crisp yet flavorful pilsner and their farmhouse ale. The space- fun sort of oasis. With a giant palm tree in the outdoor front courtyard. When you walk in, it is low tones and not over stimulating. There is a wonderful back patio. Gorgeous downtown, lower garden district building. Brick walls, lots of wood. Diego Rivera adorns the wall as you come in, promising a safe space for the working class to relax and enjoy themselves. The service is quite decent apart from the social distance the bar tenders demonstrated to me. They catered to one particular person and literally ignored others. My wife and I had 24 hours in New Orleans. Looking at local breweries we settled on this place and headed over. They've got a huge front patio with picnic tables and palm trees. The back patio was in use for a private party so we didn't get to see it. We sat inside and enjoyed the Bird Song Belgian Tripel. The furniture is cool and the interior is very clean.
