And walking distance to anywhere downtown! And, the owners never had any problem with checking us in at 9am! Sounds like a sweet deal, eh?! Until last night, it was! BUT THEN LAST NIGHT, stayed in a room we've never been in and I woke up this morning COVERED in bed bug bites! WTF?! I am super allergic to most bug bites, so had to book it to the doctor as soon as I woke up. Called the owners later that day, and I didn't even get an apology. Nada. Nothing. I reserved a room on line here because nothing else economical was available for the date. The sheets and room surfaces were clean, The carpets however had not been vacuumed and was the filthiest I have ever rented for a hotel room. The overall look of the outside of the hotel is that there needs to be done a great deal of general maintenance. Stay here if you have to, stay somewhere else if you possibly can. read more

I have been told by many people this hotel has been awful to customers during this emergency. Our community has been through so much in the last several days it is sad how their management treats customers. I have heard they are checking to make sure no more people then what has been paid for are in the room. Checking cars on the way in. Checking rooms. Our community is devastated. Outdated rooms, no pool. Husband and wife team not sure if they own it or just run it, they watch from the window every single time you leave and return. Walkway upstairs looks worn and looks like it's about to collapse ( not unstable or wobbly just looks like it is) Several rooms were under construction , at night transients would sneak it through the window of the up stairs empty rooms and leave when the sun came up. PAPER THIN WALLS. Stayed here on a Thursday night and from 11pm-1 am there were a bunch of drunk bros broing it up as loud as they possibly could bro right above us (no big deal, I packed melatonin). But it was when the noise escalated at 3am when 2 (or was it three?) annoying chicks joined the scene and started running around the very small parking lot screaming "it's my birthday, it's my birthday". My wife and I don't mind slightly dumpy hotels, but I think this one is out of sorts. The beds aren't that comfy, the shower floods, and the WiFi is painfully slow. Ukiah seems to be a pretty cool town but the trashy nighttime riffraff needs to be dealt with... Yesterday. Spend the extra $15-20 and go to a nicer spot. read more

Where to start? I'm surprised this place doesn't have an hourly rent rate, with the pubic hair and glitter that was on the sheets, my wife and I luckily had blankets in the car. No smoke alarm, door was busted so many times you can see a huge gap,holes in bathroom door,A/C plug wire nutted together, floor hasn't been cleaned in eons,bed lumpy as hell. Booked this hotel on line for 3 nights.... after the first night my husband asked for a refund. They said, "you have to give 24 hour notice!" The outside of this hotel is very miss-leading it is really BAD in the rooms. The owners Sue and Chris do not care that we were very unhappy here. They would not allow our service dog to stay in the room.... this is against the LAW!! They have issues with dogs. What it comes down to it this room was not even good enough for a dog to stay in. Our rental car was broken into and damaged. Ukiah is a very small town... we told everyone we could how bad this hotel was. Sue and Chris - you should not be running a hotel! This place is good. I travel a lot & go to places despite bad reviews to check them out because people seem to review harshly in my experience. This place was decent, clean, quiet and inexpensive. The check in was fast, it's family owned & the lady was nice but not overly friendly. The bed was comfortable and clean. Furniture is dated but in good shape. Plenty of space for luggage & to hang your stuff. It's nothing fancy but a great place to crash on a budget. I felt safe and have no complaints. Stayed here one night & left super early the next day. An added bonus was the fantastic organic cafe across the street. We walked over & got some delicious take out! Four stars because it was perfect for what I needed. read more

Absolutely disgusting customer service. I reserved this room online and when I came in to pay the girl at the counter ran my debit card and charged me and then checked my ID and said because my ID was expired she couldn't accept my card which she had already charged. I am traveling (1800 miles from home) and have used this hotel via priceline with the exact ID I presented her with today without any issues (my current ID got stolen while traveling and I just pulled out my old one to use until I am back in my home state). I am now without the cost of the room for 24-48 hours and unable to get another hotel room because of it. What a piece of shit hotel. I am absolutely livid that they would charge me and then decide that my money was no good even though I have a photo ID that matches my description and the name on my debit card. I love coming here. It's not that fancy, but I am a student and I can't afford too much. This place always has really affordable rooms via priceline.com. My credit card company messed up and the office staff were really nice about it. I just went out for 30 minutes and when I came back the room was cleaned perfectly and it smelled really good. For the price it's really wonderful. It is safe, it has a fridge and a microwave in the room, the ceilings are hard wood in the room, and the wallpaper is old high quality stuff like you would see in an old victorian house. It is really interesting to look at. The fixtures are older, but they all work perfectly. Also the wifi is free and really strong and fast. I am a professional game addict and It's fast enough to play all my favorite 3d games. And it's great for doing homework, facebook, uploading pictures etc. read more

After paying to check in, I'm told about the pet policy (NO PETS) and that my best friend, my African Grey Parrot, had to spend the night in the car. It was hot today but not as hot as the room. The internet is still down...it was mentioned 5 months ago by another member...has it been down for 5+ months? The shower sprayed the wall and barely flowed out to be useful it was all plugged up. The carpet had some serious abuse and was just nasty. Don't look behind the fridge for a plug, it's nasty also! One TV remote was broken (I even tried my own fresh batteries and checked for a flash using my camera phone), the OneForAll needed programmed. Luckily, I had internet on my phone! I was able to get it working. And the night is only half over. There are many other places to stay, keep checking. This place is WAY overpriced. Overall...it was quiet and outside was well lit. NO STARS IF I COULD!!! First, when I came to the door, there was no one at a desk. I had to wait like a minute before the mgr/owner/whoever let me and my wife in. It was like 100 degrees outside! (This is when all of N CA was having like a week of 100+ temps). Secondly, when I got there and was let in, the guy said, how many in your party. I told him 4 (which is why I booked to Queen beds). He said the reservation said 2. I asked if there was any difference to the payment. He didn't say anything. I even wrote 4 on the little registration slip. Still nothing said. He gave me a key, told me the room number. It was upstairs, which is a whole different experience (I shouldn't feel the ground "give" or creek walking to my room. My 2 friends, who we were to be sharing the room with, came up when they started saying my wife and I go up. The guy called the room and said how many in the room. I told him 4, just like I told him 2 minutes ago at check-in. He asked for all of us to come down stairs so we can show him ID. Not a problem, we'll be down in a minute we tell him. He calls again, not even a minute later! "YOU NEED TO COME DOWN NOW!" (yelling at me). At this point, after looking at the VERY OUTDATED ROOM, the fact that there was NO POOL even though it says there's a pool, and this guys attitude, I decide, it's not worth it to stay here. So I am polite and ask about getting a refund, he says no. I am frustrated (because I have to eat $83), but I tell him I not staying here because I don't like your attitude and service and throw him the key. As I'm turning to go out the door he says "You know what fuck you". Worst 15 minutes and shortest stay ever for me at a hotel. NO WI-FI. Nada. Mr. Hotel Guy, please don't tell me you have wi-fi if you do not. Besides this being a total dump, you and your wife/partner couldn't get your lies straight about the ghost wi-fi. With no options available around I settled for this place. Was a total nightmare. Was on the 2 level. The floors were so bad that when someone walked outside, the bed shook. There might have been someone in another room having fun, but it constantly shook my bed the entire night. I'd rather sleep in my car next time. read more

What a strange experience! Coming back from a tour we found this cheap room along the way. 50 bucks for a room is not a bad price...but you get what you pay for. The main door lock didn't work, the mattress had tons of stains, pillows were flat, the shower didnt have a nozzle, dead roaches under the sink, the toilet leaked a ton whenever you flushed it, the carpet had some plastic crunch sound to it when you walked. This place is disgusting and looks nothing like the photo shopped picture that comes up under Google. We had booked a room sight unseen - we usually never do that. What a huge mistake. The rooms were filthy. The carpet was so disgusting I didn't take my socks off. When we woke up in the morning, there was an odd chirpy, squeaking noise that quit when we started talking. We booked this room thru priceline $89.99 with taxes $100. We went to check in and I asked how many stars does this hotel have and clerk said 2. I asked if we could still cancel and he said he would allow it and that we could look at the room 1st before we decided. It was on the second floor with rotten plywood on the deck on the way to the room. Room was disgusting with warped carpet. We went back down and told the clerk "no thanks." He proceeded to lecture us about how we seemed too good for his hotel. Then told us that his hotel rents by the hour! Hey buddy maybe you should post that as an amenity on priceline. The friendliest staff of all the hotels i have stayed at in ukiah and they hooked me up with the best deal.

We reserved a room with 2 queen beds on a hotel booking site. The confirmation said the room will have 2 queen beds. About 30 minuets after booking, we got a call saying that the only room with 2 queen beds was up stairs. The drive from Los Angeles was long and exhausting. Here is what the room was like: The power outlets in the room did not have a ground, the doors still use keys, the only lock on the door was a deadbolt that looked very flimsy, and the beds were full instead of queen. We felt unsafe, and we were uncomfortable. But we were so tired, we decided to make the best of it. In the morning, we went down to office to ask for $20 back, because the beds were full, not queen. We were charged $80 for 2 queen beds, so I think it's fair to have them refund $20. The managers were angry with us for being unhappy with the hotels crappy accommodations. They demanded we write a letter, and took photocopies of our ID's. Then proceed to say that they will make trouble for us on hotel booking sites (good luck with that). Then they had the gaul to say, you are never to stay here again because we don't want your kind at our hotel. We will NEVER be back. Save yourself the hell and torture of staying here. We were detained on Ukiah after our car collided with a deer on Highway 101, and booked a hotel room for the night through booking.com. The owners couldn't have been kinder. They gave us a ride to the Hertz car rental office about 2 miles away. They are very knowledgeable about Ukiah and its environs. And we had a nice conversation about their native city Mumbai which we happen to be familiar with. In the end, because I had to rush off to my job, we trusted them to hand over our car keys to the towing company. To us, excellent customer service and small-town friendliness are priceless. Recently, we had been staying in Holiday inns and Raddisons in large metropolitan areas and were less than happy with the impersonal treatment. This experience restored our faith in humanity. For the unbelievably low price point, we even got a small refrigerator in our room. Great trustworthy family, and exceptional small town hospitality! read more

DO NOT STAY AT THIS INN. I stayed one night just to sleep from a long car ride, and the couple next to my room with paper thin walls, fought all night long. I didn't sleep one bit. The inn did nothing about this couple. When I told the owner what happened, he called me a liar, said I SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE POLICE, and didn't say he was sorry it happened. He also threaten to CALL THE POLICE ON ME for complaining. The owner is from the Middle East which I didn't give a second thought until he treated me, a 63 yr old woman, like scum. I cringe when I think of the two nights that I stayed at this craphole. This hotel is simply awful and should condemned. The clientele is seedy. The building is rotting apart and will likely fall down in a strong enough earthquake. My rooms had 4 locks on doors. The box spring was stained with blood. Blood!! This should be a $30/night room at most but they were charging the state rate of $90 plus tax. After a tough shift at a wildfire nearby I didn't much care about the condition of what room was to be my home for the next 6 hours, but thinking back on it I hated being at the economy inn in ukiah California. I feel terrible for those firefighters that had to spend their 24 hour off day in this dangerous, disgusting motel. Shame on the management of this motel for running such a filthy place. read more

My husband and I were evacuated due to the Valley Fire in Lake County and booked a room at the Economy Inn in Ukiah. The lobby, swimming pool area, and grounds were clean and well maintained. Our king room was clean, quiet and comfortable, and we were able to feel like we were at home in a dire situation. We were able to check in with a very supportive staff person who cared about our situation. Staff was friendly and helpful and gave us the lowest rate around town when other motels were raising their prices because of the fires. We have stayed here for six days and will continue to stay until we can return home. This is our home away from home. In addition, the motel is within walking distance to a Round Table Pizza, park, and library. (Restaurants, stores, art galleries, and a brew house also within walking distance.) Easy access on and off the 101 freeway. read more

He never made it to a room but... 3 amazing gals who are very supportive members of our community witnessed a man collapse the other day and stopped to help. He was sweet and polite and homeless. Not the "drug addict" type or "crazy" but he does need dialysis. They offered to get him a hotel room for the night so he could rest and take care of himself until his appointment. When they all tried to pay with cards, each at a time, they were refused. Not because of them or their cards but because this hotel didn't want to rent a room to a homeless man! This man took the rejection with complete politeness. I wouldn't have! I don't understand how a hotel can justify not renting a room to someone who has a credit card down, isn't high or acting like a nuisance and is having medical issues even if he is homeless. I will not recommend this hotel to any friends coming to the area or any of my family when my wedding date comes up and I have guests in the area! I simply cannot waste anyone respectables money on such an entitled establishment... especially since they aren't exactly a fancy place to begin with! I sure hope that treating a decent human that way is worth the thousands you are losing as this story spreads through the area. As it has to a few hundred people already. read more

Do NOT stay here! BED BUGS !!!!! Check in late on August 9, 2013. Inside looked kind of old, but thought it might be ok. We stripped the bed covers off. Didn't see anything..... Should have flipped the mattress!!!!!! Woke up the next morning to bites and blood on the sheets. Even smashed one of the little suckers!!!! I took pictures, so I do have proof! We snatched the kids up and put them in the car, grabbed our belongings to get out of there fast! I took the sheet up to the front desk and told her they had bed bugs!!!! She did not act like it was a big deal. I told her I wanted a refund and they needed to clean up the place. She offered me half a refund. NO THANKYOU. She did refund all my money, but still didn't act freaked out about the bed bugs. We drove straight to a laundry mat and spent two hours of our vacation and $40 washing everything!!!
