Went on a shop excursion here and it was amazing. It is quite a hike so bring water and wear comfy shoes. Highly recommend

I booked the zipline tour with Ecoquest Experiences & Tours via Carnival Cruise Lines while in San Juan. There was a lengthy but smooth bus ride over to the location. Once on site, we had a few minutes in the Margarita Bar to take a bathroom break, grab water or snack, etc. Then we went to another area to get our gear put on and then headed to the first line. Before getting started one of the guides gave instructions on what not to do with the gear, how to hold on and how to pull yourself in if you don't make it all of the way to the next platform. Next the adventure began. I don't recall the description saying that there were open-slated wooden bridges to cross or slightly steep and possibly slippery hills to climb. I can say that my nerves, glutes and hamstrings got an intense workout. lol. The last line ends back at the Margarita Bar, perfect for if you need a shot after. The guides help you get all of the gear off. The views were great, and I really did enjoy myself. I made it across successfully on all 5 lines. It was more work than I bargained for but I'm glad that I went and would consider doing it again. All of the tour guides assisting us were great and everyone in our tour survived the experience. read more

The grounds were gorgeous - it was great walking / hiking thru the natural landscape to get to the 5 lines. The lines were shorter than I had hoped, but we still very much enjoyed ourselves. Check in was simple and quick, a little hard to find if you're not familiar with the area. Had a nice outdoor waiting area with a bar and gift shop. I went with the 2-hour Horseback riding group, and the guides were extremely helpful throughout the entire trip. Helping with Hard headed horses, getting onto the horses, teaching how to lead them, stop them, and how to ride the different terrains. They were very friendly as well, making jokes and having conversations with the riders. I got lucky with my horse, Napoleon. Very well behaved, gorgeous, and trained very well. I have had previous riding experience, but for the ones who hadn't, seemed fairly confident by the end of the trip. I recommend this for young, or older people. Even if you have never even been on a horse, I still highly encourage you to try out this experience! There were a wide variety of people, along with a few children! read more

Such a fun experience!! The tour guides were funny, helpful, and friendly! 5 zip lines was plenty, starting lower and ascending with short hikes in between. I arrived at 1:15 for a 1:30 reservation. We waited by the bar until around 2:00 for the actual start. At the end of the tour, we enjoyed pina coladas and empanadas! Such a great day! Highly recommend! read more

I think this was one of my favorite part of our mini trip to Puerto Rico. Bae and I got the Campo Rico: Cave Rappelling and Zip-lining Safari. I totally recommend doing this. It involved a three hour adventure which includes a fun almost roller coaster like ride on an 8x8 vehicle. A hike, which involved eating fresh fruits like passionfruit and seeing new insects like scorpion spiders. A exciting walk into 3 canopy bridges. An exhilarating zip lining experience, all varying in height, length, and speed. Lastly, involves a delicious lunch on the mojito bar. Our tour guide: Alex and Darwin were both great. They made sure that our tour was educational, fun, and safe for everyone. And their picture game is strong. They made sure that you leave the place with memorable evidence. One thing I REALLY wanted to do in PR was zip lining in Toro Verde (the monster) but while Toro Verde was $135 just for one zip line, Ecoquest offered us so much more for only $129. Our package included 3 ziplines, 3 canopy bridges, cave rappel, small hike and 8x8 vehicle ride plus our guides were so nice and taught us a lot of stuff. Puerto Rico is rich in history, nature and adventure. Our tour had such impressive experiences from zip lining crossing waterfalls in a rainforest to cave rappel in a subtropical forest. Just wow. Great experience. I recommend bringing comfortable shorts, lots of water, sunblock, mosquito repellent, good traction shoes and small backpack. No flip flops are allowed. Our guides were Jose and Brian, and they were great. Early morning hotel pick up with ~15 people in our group. That meant for anything we did we waited for everyone to do their thing and it didn't get to a point where we had to wait suuuuper long to get everyone through, but kind of when we were zip lining and rappelling. Such a fun day and the guides were so helpful in taking photos of people. Also, great meal at the end. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. read more

first time in Puerto Rico , went ziplining and the views were amazing. Definitely a great experience. Fernando was very knowledgeable of the area assisting with facts along with Alex, who also assisted on touring of the place and joking along the way making it a good time throughout the trails. Both were great guide! Wish I did bring cash to tip them more. Felt bad. Make sure to bring some cash to tip them because they are great people helping one have a good time. Also I didn't get to do the ATVs but that looked really fun to be able to do if you get the chance to do both. Looking close to 250 for both. After tax. Bring something for gratuity. I wore shorts, crocs, and a comfy t. It was hot and it had some hills, rocks, branches and coral along the way. Going to one of the lines you have a long steep trail up along some steps. Waivers were quick. Got there at the start of the session. Went through the trails beating the rain. There is a bar. They ask to keep it to a 2 drink max. Also mask along the trails. BRING WATER! What a fun time we had at this place Campo Rico. The one negative thing I would say is that the signage is pretty poor and trip advisor's directions did not help. We had to call the establishment and they talked us in. Regardless we had a blast. We decided to do the ATV's and it was so much fun. You also have the option to go horseback riding or even a tour which is on a long golf cart. While waiting to go on your tour they have a snack bar which serves alcohol. They also have a small souvenir shop. I highly recommend you bring some bug spray becario are traveling through plenty of brush. Our tour guide was great. He gave us a few breaks along the way and spoke about the history of the hacienda. If you are into interactive fun then this is a place for you read more

We had a great time! Jorgito, Fernando, Ed, and Hector were terrific guides. This is a lot of fun, even if you are nervous to try it.

This was a really cool excursion while in San Jose, Puerto Rico. We were shuttled over to the zip line location which had a bar, grill, gift shop, and some cool animals to look at. The zip lines were scattered through this forest, and you could see iguanas (some were on the treetops as you were zip lining), geckos, and millipedes in the forest. The staff members were fun to be around and gave us clear instructions in terms of safety and what to expect. We had a mini zip line and bridge before the real ones, and there were small hikes in between each zip line location. I had a great time here and would love to come again if I had the opportunity. read more

My wife and I did the Eco-Offroad UTV Experience with Ecoquestpr.com. We had an amazing time! We drove two-seater Can-Am Maverick 700s. Our guide, Chris, was very funny, personable, and full of facts about the land we were driving our UTV's through. He took us for two hours all over the trail system at Hacienda Campo Rico, a 2,300 acre estate in Carolina, PR. He also gave us plenty of stops to switch drivers if you wanted to. Also -- Google the pics of the old mansion on the property they use as a wedding venue, and you will recognize it from Wakanda Forever. The only thing I wasn't prepared for was how dirty we got :). The staff up at the mojito bar and store were very helpful showing us where the sinks and towels were to clean up before our Uber came to pick us up. BTW - the bathrooms are gross. BUT, you only need them for 2 mins out of 120...so don't stress. read more

Small group, but it was great! We saw a lot of wild life native to the land and some other things that came "after' and was not there "before". My only complaint was the younger gentleman with us ( a tour guide) he was working with Fernando that day. I can't remember his name, but it started with an H and they told us to call him Ito at the end of the name which means boy. An experience I will NEVER forget. I did this zip lining, rappelling, and hiking adventure with a group of six girls, and we enjoyed every minute. In the beginning of the hike, we were extremely scared, and didn't think we'd get through, but our tour guides (Fredrico and Juarito) were so encouraging and helpful. They were readily available throughout the entire hike and reassured us that we were safe. The hike is a bit strenuous if you haven't hiked before, but it's definitely possible. There are 5 zip lines, which are all fun and exciting. The views are so beautiful. Fredrico and Juarito (probably spelling their names wrong :/) are always willing to take pictures and take the time to make sure they're perfect. After the adventure, they provide a lunch, which was so good. We had chicken, rice and beans, potatoes, and flan. Our favorite part of our entire Puerto Rico trip! read more

They were all very informative of the natural habitat of the area plants and animals, as well as with my teenage daughter since this was her first time ziplining. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to zipline with experienced tour guides all of them seem to be well versed and knowledgeable. They were all super sweet and nice as well as funny. I am an experienced kayaker as are my adult children. This should have been a peaceful evening kayak. The instruction for the trip were non existent and needed for people who have never been on kayak. The canal leading out to the bio bay was so packed in either direction with inexperienced kayakers that were hitting into each other. I was hit it the head with a heavy oar by an inexperienced kayaker that was unable to handle the current on a narrow bay. The tour guides did not assist the inexperienced and control the situation. I Never write bad reviews but I thought it was critical for those considering this overrated experience with younger children. They need to decrease the number of people per evening, stagger the groups so they don't hit into each other, and give some basic lessons on kayaking with a partner. I am surprised there was not a serious injury the evening we went. Honestly should have asked for my money back. Please insure that you get instructions and are prepared. I didn't end up going on the excursion, but my experience with them was wonderful. I came to Puerto Rico and the regulations for Covid had changed, I didn't feel comfortable spending the day in a group so I called to see if I could cancel. This was in under 24 hours so I was expecting them to refuse or at least a 20% fee (that is the policy before 24 hours) but instead they gave me a full refund. I'm throughly impressed with this company and will use them when I return. They excellent reviews here make me excited to come back soon for hiking, ziplining and other fun stuff! read more

I wish there was a 10 star option! Ecoquest made our trip to Puerto Rico truly unforgettable! I can't recommend this tour group enough. They were accommodating to the last minute. Originally booking another tour with a different group that had no space for us, we scrambled to find Ecoquest who offered a similar tour for a cheaper price! We booked a Sunday tour and Ecoquest contacted me (I made the first initial contact because my email said "reservation pending") multiple times to update me since they needed a minimum of 4 people for the tour and we were the only 2 booked for that day. We arrived in PR (Thursday) and was still able to call Ecoquest and change our tour booking for the next day (Friday). I don't recall the names of the ladies I spoke with but they were easy going about changing the reservations and made it simple. I received a confirmation email with details of what to pack and where we would be picked up. Luckily for us Ecoquest picks up at major hotels in San Juan. After all the participants were picked up we drove to San Salvador Rainforest where they parked the van at an abandon school house with toliets and changing areas (keep in mind this is a rundown facility). We were able to keep our belongings in the locked van and only carried necessities on the tour (water, waterproof items, etc). They also had a waterproof bag that they store stuff in like fruits and cameras. Our tour guides Willy, Jorge, and Lugardo assisted us with our harness and helmets that we wore during the entire duration of the tour. They are an extremely fun and personable bunch. We started the tour with some hiking through and up streams and up and over huge boulders and refresh ourselves by sitting under waterfalls. Our guides would of took a million pictures for us if we wanted them too, that's how we were able to capture so many amazing moments on the trip. Due to the weather (heavy rain) we went rappelling first. THIS IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP. I would like to think I'm a dare devil for these kind of things (even thought I hate roller coasters). Attached to our harness were two lines: 1. that we control and maneuver down the waterfall with, 2. is the safety line that our guides control. Everything we did our guides practice safety first and showed us the safe way to do it. It took awhile to get everyone going and down, and when my turn came I was eager and excited to tackle this 80 foot waterfall. To rappel on my own was daring enough and when I hit the splash of the waterfall I knew this was one of the craziest, funniest things I've ever done. I can't describe in words how awesome this was and can only say you must do it yourself to understand. After the waterfall rappelling we got to go on not 1, not 2, not 3, but FIVE zip lines. Each time was longer and faster than the last. On our last zip line the guides were able to stop us before we hit so we were able to record ourselves, which was really cool. Zip lining through the rainforest was breathtaking and beautiful, a great way to end our adventure. Once we got back to our van, we were able to change and dry off before we walked across to a house (in the rainforest!) where we would have our lunch. This was a true Puerto Rican lifestyle experience. You had a small but comfortable home in the middle of the rainforest with an outdoor cooking area and patio. We were served our meal by our guides (thank you!) and chit chat with other participants while we ate. We had pollo con arroz with bean soup. It was simple, but homey and comforting. I can't thank Willy, Jorge, and Lugardo enough for making our Puerto Rico amaze-balls. We will be talking about the memories we created for years to come! Amazing tour from the beginning to the end. Tour guides Luda and Brian did an excellent job keeping us informed and preparing us for our adventure. We did the Amphibious Off-Road Caving Adventure which included riding on an 8 wheel amphibious vehicle, rappelling into a cave, cave dwelling, crossing 3 suspension bridges and completing 3 zip lines, round trip transportation to and from my hotel and a lunch at the end of our adventure (rice & beans, baked chicken, salad and fruit) which was welcomed because after hiking for hours off terrain we were all starving. It was pricey but it was so worth it! Luda was the lead guide and he kept us laughing from the moment we got there and throughout our entire tour. He was very well versed and gave us a little history about the forest we hiked through with every turn. This was my 5th time to Puerto Rico and I'm mad that I've never done this before. When my traveling companions said we needed to start looking into excursions for our upcoming trip to Puerto Rico I was all aboard. I don't know what I was expecting from the last minute little think-tank we had just days prior to our trip, maybe I thought we'd sail out on a boozy catamaran or jet ski in the clear blue waters of the tropics. Needless to say, I was absolutely floored when they told me that we'd be kayaking, hiking, zip lining, and canopy bridge traversing bright and early on the first full day of our vacation. By nature I am a worrier, why on earth would they choose to have us sign our lives away the day before our best friends wedding? Why couldn't they choose something I would have had more time to research before settling on a company who I would entrust with my life? Fast forward a few days, it's Friday morning, we're all packed up for our half day of happy nature wandering, and up pulls Ludgardo to our hotel ready to take us to our impending doom. With mild trepidation but smiles on our faces we chatted in the van about what we did for a living, he gave us some history of the island and the agricultural changes of the last few decades, we were given recommendations on where to go on the island during our stay, just kind of broke the ice and got the conversation flowing. After signing our lives away and promising to follow the rules, we met up with two other ladies from Orlando who would be toodling around the trees with us. We all plopped into a few kayaks and headed off on the first of our mini-adventures. Ludgardo told us jokingly that tandem kayaks are more commonly referred to as "divorce boats", a term I totally get since my co-pilot had a hard time understanding that you paddle right to go left and left to go right. After a few minutes we were all under control and were on a roll singing Pocahontas' "Just Around The River Bend". If anyone wanted to jump ship on the days activities at that point, it should have been our tour guides. Here we met with Hector who continued on our tour with us leading the way back toward the beginning of our hike. For us city folk with limited outdoor experience, the hiking wasn't nearly as bad as any of us imagined it would be. At more difficult little rocky passageways there was always a secured rope to grab onto to keep from losing balance and there was always a helping hand whether you really thought you needed it or not. The ziplines upon first inspection seemed far more daunting than they ended up being. We were shown the science of the lines and harnesses, how we would be hooked up, what signs to look for at the end of the ride (though I still managed to screw that up the first go-around), and how to break. With that, we were hurled over the trees and on our way. After the initial few seconds of sheer terror wore off it really turned out to be a ridiculously amazing and literally breathtaking experience. I can only imagine the kind of satisfaction that Ludgardo and Hector get on a daily basis watching the kind of transformation that goes through their participants from start to finish, it must be the best feeling in the world, because we were amazed. This activity is one that everyone should take the time out to do if they find themselves visiting or even living in Puerto Rico, this is not just a day trip for tourists. Included in the cost of the package is round trip transportation from a large area around San Juan, a homemade meal at the end provided by the loveliest of Puerto Rican ladies, and for a small fee you can tack on a fabulous mojito while everyone is decompressing from the morning's activities. When you factor in two of the best looking and funniest guys around, you find yourself not even batting an eye at the money you spent. My only qualm in all of the craziness was not making time in the trip to do the full day repelling excursion, but hey, it gives us reason to visit again. Yes, it is more expensive than other tours on the island, but what you will walk away with will be far more valuable. read more

My mom and I just got back from Puerto Rico. It was her first time back in 30 years. The one thing she wanted to do for sure was go Zip-lining . She has always been scared to do this and is not athletically inclined whatsoever. So she was a little nervous. However, Alex and Pedro made the experience so great. They were very interactive, funny, and patient. We loved the rappel, the hiking through the beautiful land, and of course, the zip lines. The ride out to the trail was fun too! We stayed in San Juan, more towards Viejo San Juan, and it only took us about 20 minutes to get there. Another big plus, is Alex and Pedro both spoke Spanish and English. We are both bilingual so it was nice to be able to switch back and forth. Pedro, is also a great photographer. He will stop and take your picture whenever and wherever you want. Since the tour does not provide pictures, this is a nice alternative. All in all, we would go back 100 more times and would recommend that you do too! read more
