A door-to-door solicitor walked into our driveway and turned around to try to leave. It was really strange. When I hailed him down i asked what he wanted. He tried to pull the typical "I do your neighbor's pest control down the street and it's a lot cheaper if you sign up today while I'm here." Very aggressive sales people. The salesperson lied about our neighbors signing up with him (I confirmed they did not) and then repeatedly came back to our property after I asked him not to. Hours later, his crew came out unannounced to perform the first job, and unapproved. The next day, bugs and rodents were still there. He kept saying to call the office to get more visits for free, but the office barely speaks English (overseas) and is of no help. It took me hours to cancel as they are very stubborn. We have a "No Soliciting" sign posted at our door. Not only are we not interested in being sold face-to-face, but we work from home, where our three dogs and our infant are. When someone rings our bell, especially during our workday, it's incredibly disruptive. Today, we had a sales rep from EcoShield stop by to sell us. He rang the bell, despite the sign, and woke our sleeping baby. Now, we get to spend the rest of the day with a crab who won't go back to sleep, while trying to juggle our own work. I get that everyone has a job to do, but "No Soliciting" signs are there so neither you, nor I, have our time wasted. In ignoring one, it's considered trespassing. My husband spoke to our village, and it appears that EcoShield did not properly register with the village for a permit for door-to-door sales, which is required in our community. Please, be respectful of people's homes and private property! I've worked in sales myself, and it's difficult, but don't waste your own time AND disrupt someone's privacy in their home when they've explicitly asked you not to be there. read more

Responded to a door to door salesman, signed a contract with a discount fee for initial visit every subsequent visit was 200.00 a bit pricey to have someone spray for spiders around my perimeter and wipe away spider webs by the door. I reconsidered the service and went to cancel further services which were scheduled out to thru December. A wasteful service since we usually have extremely cold temps and insects are non-existent. Eco-Shield charged me an additional 200.00 to cancel my service. Short sighted sales tactic. The service that was being provided was rudementary at best - spraying at opening of garage and around the front and back door. Pricey for 200.00 Something to think about when signing up with this company. Additionally, if you were to have any other pest concerns it's an additional fee. I didn't need to spend $600 for bug protection in October, November or December with temperatures that usually reach 30-40 degrees. Something to think about. read more

First service was fine. Second service the tech did not knock on the door so they could not come inside to do the windows, which was the only reason I hired them. They would not refund the visit. When I tried to cancel future visits, they wanted to charge another $150 on top of the $150 I paid for the visit where they didn't come inside. It is impossible to get on the phone with them. I have reported them to BBB, but I really just want to let them keep the $150 i paid for the service they didn't complete and not pay another $150 to part ways. I would consider staying with them but it's been so hard to work this out that I just can't imagine doing it again with any other issue. Edit to respond to business response: This response is not consistent with what the salesperson told me. I told him that my concern was spiders inside our window wells and that we really had no other problems. He never said that the inside service was a complimentary add on and was not actually the service I was buying. I would not have bought it if the sales guy explained it the way the company is now. I also don't know what else I could have done to tell them prior to scheduling. I mentioned it to the sales guy when he was there and the tech on the first visit. They scheduled the second visit automatically and texted me that they were coming. So no real other opportunity to talk in advance of that. Poor customer service. We received treatment around our home and tree which had carpenter ants. Following the first treatment, the ants moved inside our home. They came a second time to spray / eliminate outdoor nests and the indoor infestation has worsened. I requested cancellation of contract as we don't want pesticides/further treatments inside our home. The customer care representative argued for 30 minutes that we were under contract and could not cancel without penalty. We are not recommending EcoShield to our friends and neighbors. read more

One of the sales rep pitched the service as an ANNUAL subscription service not a quarterly one, however once the second service was done I noticed they charged my account once again at a higher price. BEWARE!! DO NOT GET INTO BUSINESS WITH ECOSHIELD!!! TERRIBLE JOB and CUSTOMER SERVICE. We were out of town when ECOSHIELD did their very first service on our home. There was a card left on our door saying the Service was completed. However upon inspection the WASP nest that is in our corner roof is still there. It was a pretty obvious WASP Nest as it was even pointed out by the ECOSHEILD Route Manager (Connor) when they were selling their service to me (Saying that they will take care of that). However, since the person who came and did the service did not remove it, I assumed that NO-SERVICE was done. I got in touch with the Route Manager to complain and he said that they will send someone out to address the current week. However after a week, nobody came and no one even reached out to us to re-schedule the service. I WAS SO DISSAPOINTED AND ANGRY with the Service (or lack of) that as done, so I decided to terminate the service. However with the 1 year contract that was signed, and even after already paying the initial $200 for the "Non-Service", I got a NEW bill for additional $300 with is the discount that was subtracted for the "Service". BUYER beware and it is not WORTH the paying $200+ per quarter with a VERY VERY POOR SERVICE (OR NON-SERVICE). Bottom line is, I am now out $500+ and I still have a WASP PROBLEM!!! read more

John did an amazing job. Seemed very hard working. Actively sprayed multiple areas in the house that were problem spots and did not try to get out of work. Some of the technicians display a lack of interest in the job and barely spray much. John was very engaging and actively made an effort to ensure he addressed not only problem locations but even spots that have not been as bothersome in the house. My wife and I were very happy with John and hope he continues to service our house as he did a tremendous job. Overall we have been happy with ecoshield. The good thing about them is they have their guarantee so even if we see bugs they always come out free of charge subsequently. Have not had that many pests overall though. They do an inspection for anything you find inside or outside your house and then want to charge you an additional $500 to treat it. The door to door sales person lied to me and did not tell me the entirety of what the service was. They withhold information from you on purpose to get you stuck in a contract and steal your money. I called to cancel and asked 5 times to cancel and even gave a counter offer of what I would be willing to pay to keep the service going they said no. So I asked a 6th time to cancel and they finally did for a $201 cancel fee. They have horrible customer service and scummy sales folks selling their service. My husband didn't realized we'd used them before and had cancelled our service because of lack of availability to retreat when ants would be in our house between quarterly appts. A sales guy came by while I was gone this week and told him they'd never serviced our property when they had as recently as April 2023. Dishonest or disorganized of them? They won't let me cancel on the phone or my husband cancel via email (he's tied up at a work event all day). They told him they'd cancel our other pest control for us and I got a recording of that cancellation where the man pretended to be me (a woman), using my name, and lied about "us doing the pest control ourselves." They want to charge us to cancel our contract early. I believe impersonating me and to cancel another company and then not letting me cancel with them has to be highly illegal and certainly unethical. read more

DO NOT use Echo Shield! We entered a contract with them for general maintenance around our home to keep it pest free. Eco Shield recommended that we remove all of our old insulation in the basement and replace it with new insulation as it appeared to have signs of pests (mice) from the previous owners that had occupied the home. We agreed and spent over $1,800 on the service. The technician that came out was by himself. He came in with all his supplies and left with all of his supplies including any garbage that needed to be removed that of which included the old insulation. My father in law was onsite to monitor and update my wife and I as to the progress. My father in law also offered to lend a hand and help with taking out the garbage after he had completed the job. The technician was adamant that he and only he handle the garbage. My father in law thought it was strange that he did not want any help but never the less did not argue and or insist on helping further. A few days later I noticed a pair of shoes missing from my storage space where I keep them. I do LOVE shoes and have some VERY nice pairs! When I could not find the specific pair I was looking for I just thought maybe they were somewhere else in the house. I decided to wear another pair, but couldn't find that pair either, weird. I continued to inspect my shoe collection in the storage portion of our basement where the technician spent the majority of his time only to find out I was MISSING 4 pairs of shoes totally over $700 in retail...that does not account for buying them from a third party retailer! Nobody outside of my immediate family had been in our basement. Eco Shield refused to pay for the stolen shoes. They refused to refund us any money from the services they performed. We have since ceased working with them and terminated our contract. BOTTOM LINE IS...THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM! I should note, this matter is STILL under police investigation as I did file a police report against Eco Shield! read more

I wish I had the money or Home Owners Insurance covered it b/c I would use them regardless of what everyone is saying and here is why: 1.) Very affordable the whole house inside and out $179. the great price they would even do the shed for free getting rid of all spiders, ants, bees, wasps, and bugs. 2.) Very knowledgeable and friendly Sam took the time to explain everything. He said what they use is eco-safe and safe for pets and kids. 3.) Not pushy at all I told him I'd have to let my dad know he asked if we could get in touch right now and I told him he was working. So he gave me his business card. 4.) Yes he said he was out of Columbus Ohio and doing the whole neighborhood well that makes sense to me. He said after the 1st treatment they would keep up with coming back in 90 days. He said they have to get rid of the parents and then the offspring from them which again makes perfect sense. I had huge big black ants in my cupboard where the sugar and baking supplies are. My mom told me to put a dryer sheet in there and that did the trick gone. I know you can use Citrus and Eucalyptus and other safe home methods to get rid of bugs. Since I don't have the extra money that is what I am doing presently. I wish I could afford to have an exterminating company come out.
