Came out for inspection and identified the problem and fixed it with no issues. Had them perform a maintenance to make sure everything else was running smooth and to also check our heater issue, so we will be good for the winter. Repairs cost less than the portable AC I was considering buying and done in a timely manner. So nice to be home in a cool house! Great communication, letting me know all the issues and the cost up front for approval to move forward. Highly recommend!

Called the company to do a repair and they were not really excited to come up from Fresno to replace the switch. At least that was the vibe I got from the woman who I spoke with. Right away I was not happy with their customer service. I checked Yelp and saw Cosmic Comfort installed whole house fans. I called and the woman who assisted me was upbeat and positive that they could fix my problem. I scheduled an appointment and Adam came out. Nice kid. Climbed in the attic and confirmed that the unit was good and needed a new switch. I decided to get a hard-wired switch and an appointment was scheduled. One thing I really liked was the communication through text messages. They also send you a photo of the technician that is responding to your house. I appreciated that and it makes good business sense. Issac and Freddie came out a few days later and completed the project. They were professional and the installation looked good. Isaac tested the switch and showed me how to use it. He had a tablet and processed my credit card through it. Easy peasy. Let's face it, electrical work is not cheap, but I felt it was a reasonable price especially considering my wife would stop reminding me that we needed to get it fixed before summer! I was happy with the whole process.

The tech who came to do the quote was supposed to be at my house between two and four. The company texted me at 3:30 to tell me he was running late; by the time he got to my house it was 4 PM. He was a very pleasant young man. Definitely respectful of the property, but in having him give me a quote, the methods at which they said they were gonna get power was just weird. They wanted to go through my fire extinguisher in my hallway instead of using the electrical receptacles that were already in my walk-in closet. It was quite odd to be honest. And then on top of that, the quote they gave me with asinine. Over $800 to put in one receptacle? This wasn't a complicated case. When he saw me balking at the price, he said well, we also do heating and cooling so if you want to sign up for $299 a year, we can give you 15% off the receptacle. I almost laughed. How ridiculous was that - trying to upsell me even more? Not only that, but according to this boy, they would probably have to cut through my drywall and have a patch job. I didn't realize it was a full company; otherwise, I would have not even contacted them. They were great at following up for the business, but not at the price at which they were quoting me. I found a contracted, licensed electrician who did it for me quickly and for less than half of what they were quoting me, and did impeccable work.

I was told then that the capacitor would probably need to be replaced in the next year or two but otherwise all looked ok. I bought and replaced the capacitor myself a few weeks later. $20 part and takes 2 minutes to replace. This year first my refrigerant went out. They came out the next day and refilled it and the bill for that was between $200-300. I'd have to pull out my checkbook to see exactly how much. I don't know the current cost for that service so I shrugged and went on about my life. That's the life of a homeowner. A month later, beginning of July, my motor started a loud squealing. A quick google search told me that when an a/c unit starts squealing it means one of two things - either the belts bad or the bearings in the motor were going bad, and that means the motor needs to be replaced. Since I don't have a belt it was the motor - common sense at work. So I called Jims again and they came out the next day. By then the ac wasn't working to cool the house anymore so I shut off the power to it. They showed up just before 5pm. I had to call around 4 to make sure they were coming at all since I never received a call confirming an appt that morning. They stayed for 5 mins and replaced the capacitor and said goodbye. I was unconvinced that the problem was solved. But since I didn't have a hvac degree I took their word for it. The house didn't cool down very well but I thought since it was over 90 degrees in the house maybe it was just taking a very long time. By the next night I realized the house was hot and went outside and what did I see? An ac unit running but no motor spinning. Yay. Not trusting Jims any longer I ordered the motor with overnight shipping (approximately $200 total) and replaced the motor myself. The whole replacement took 30 mins, two tools, and two zipties. I've since received the bill for the capacitor I DID NOT need and that bill was $200.41. They charged $60 just for the capacitor. Remember when I said I bought my own for $20? Yeah, not happy. Though this information has zero bearing on my experience I thought I'd include this little tidbit, I'm a 40 year old single mother. So I'm editing my review because now I'm even angrier. I paid my bill and a few weeks later got another piece of mail from Jim's a/c. In it was my check and the statement with an apology. It didn't solve my problem but it went a long way to soothe the irritation. Who doesn't appreciate someone apologizing even if they didn't personally mess up, right? Well now today I get a new statement with PAST DUE on it and a late fee. Saying I'm not happy would be a gross understatement

He came out and looked at the unit was very honest and said you have nothing wrong with your unit so I would highly recommend Jeremy patches heating. He's reliable and honest and doesn't want to just sell you something to make money like Lee's plumbing and heating. I would never advise anybody to buy anything from them. They are not honest and all they wanna do is sell you a new unit for 20,000.
