Hands down the best customer service in the auto industry I've personally experienced in my 33 years. I enjoyed talking with Ed Hanson and Barbie Bates while a new catalytic converter was being installed on my truck. They made me feel very welcome and not intimidated, like most places do towards women. I was out in 30 minutes. Great price, service and very personable. Definitely will recommend their services to all my friends. read more

You simply do not find places like this very often, especially in California. These guys are friendly, very knowledgable and are masters of their craft. Took my Cayenne in and they did a superb job, followed that up with my Chevy truck. Both sound and look great. If you are in a hurry, go somewhere else (not saying they are slow, but good work takes time). I was lucky enough to meet Ed himself (made a cameo visit) and it was evident that he left the place in very good hands while he is retired. read more

Ed is just a great guy. Absolutely zero bullshit and you can have complete confidence that his staff can fix whatever problem there is. In my case it was a custom mid pipe for my Jeep to clear my front drive shaft. Not only was there solution a thing of beauty, but he helped me out getting new catalytic converters at cost. Now I can finally install the front driveshaft and get to wheeling. Basically from the simplest muffler jobs to jobs that require creativity and invention, Ed is the man. read more

Took in my 2013 Chevy camaro for an aftermarket exhaust, after speaking with the crew there, they were very helpful in helping me decide which exhaust and parts to go with.. The next day when I went for install they let me borrow a loaner car while they were doing the installation, very happy with my magnaflo exhaust and the clean job they performed, I will definitely come back, and refer ed hansons to everybody.. read more

Best servive and fastest work ive ever had on my car. They put an o2 sensor and new cat. I highly recomend this shop to anyone and everyone!! A+++ read more

World class muffler shop. I live in the area, and was told about Hanson's by my brother. I was weary due to the fact that it was right in my neighborhood and I had never seen it before. I decided to bring my 2009 Scion tC here to get a louder muffler put on it, and Ed did a magnificent job! I returned recently to get a muffler on my 2011 Chrysler and he amazed me yet again! Will definitely return for all my muffler needs! read more

We have gone to god knows how many shops trying to get my boyfriends truck working, went into Ed's shop to get a small part, he was honest and told us that won't work for smog and told us what we should do. Treats his customers like family and is SO knowledgable about cars, not just mufflers and exhaust. I will definitely support him, his brand and am not taking my car anywhere else! Thank you ed for your service in Vietnam and now for the public's vehicles. read more

Excellent service, saved me $1200 by Correctly diagnosing my catalytic converter issue.. Unlike the Chevy dealer. Thanks Ed!

No complaints here , the team handles everything beyond professionally every time , I've had my bmw worked on here 2 times and couldn't be more satisfied with the work done . They even send a thank you card after every job , thanks again Ed Hanson and team . read more

The Best!!! Mr. Hanson he is!!! I will always go to him for advice on mufflers and work done on all of my cars

The gang at Ed Hanson's fixed a problem for me FOR FREE when a lessor shop wouldn't stand by their work! I went back recently for a damaged muffler repair on a motorhome; great job, good price, done on time. I'll always go there to make all my pipe dreams come true. read more

Best people and repairs ever. Customer service above and beyond expections.

Before I went here, I read a lot of the reviews and they were right. I went there to get my exhaust installed. It took only 1 hour, which seemed to be like 15 min. The good thing is that you get to see the guys install it. These people really know what they're doing. Very professional and knowledgeable people who work there. I would have to say good customer service with no hassle. 5 Stars read more

Ed Hanson's came highly recommended and he lived up to everything and more. Excellent customer service, great price, and second to none workmanship. I will be telling all my friends and family to head down to Spring Valley and Ed Hanson's for all their exhaust needs! read more

Let me tell ya, there are not many people like Ed and his team in this world. I stopped in on a whim to inquire about a Magnaflow cat back system for my 2013 Sonic and didn't have high expectations for my visit. But boy was I wrong! Ed took the time to discuss and listen to what I was looking for and his vast knowledge of what would work best for my car came across genuine and with no arrogance at all. I had expected to pay big $$$ but Ed eliminates the middle man and builds a custome system for each car, in my case freshly bent pipe and Magnaflow components. Even gave me a couple options for chrome tips. At nearly half the cost of most online kits I couldn't pass it up. The install took about 2 hours but I enjoyed hanging out talking to Ed's wife who is an awesome person too so the time flew by. Also learned that the installer (can't recall his name) has over 26 years experience and after seeing his work I can see it in the build. When the job was complete I had a quality system, built locally by quality people, and it sounds awesome! A truely pleasant experience :) Thanks!! P.S. I observed how Ed and his wife interacted with other customers, and let me tell you, they treat all their customers with equal respect no matter how big or small the job. read more

This was my first time here and my first time have any sort of custom muffler work done. I have to say that I will NEVER take any of my vehicles to another shop for muffler work. Ed and his entire staff were friendly, polite, helpful, and most importantly, made me feel right at home in their shop. Ed even sat down and explained to me the benefits of a certain size of piping, muffler choices, reasons behind changing out the exhaust, etc. The tech took the time to slip on different mufflers so that I could listen to each one and decide on a muffler that produced the exhaust note that I preferred while still improving the performance and efficiency of my vehicle. Everyone was so helpful and nice to me that I just have to say it twice, this is HANDS DOWN the best muffler shop in Southern California and quite possibly the state. Now onto my new muffler. I went with a 2.5" catback system with a magnaflow muffler and stainless tip. The system not only sounds amazing (head and shoulders over my old, rusted out stock exhaust), but the quality of the work is great too. The welds are neat and even, the exhaust is hung correctly, and the truck sounds great now whether at idle or with a WOT. In summary, if you are looking for a top-shelf exhaust system with friendly customer service and no BS then look no further. Ed Hanson's is the place for you. read more

I have been coming back to Ed Hansons Muffler Service for 6 years now, and I have always been impressed with the quality of the work and the quality of service. I have had mufflers swapped, catalytic converters installed, and most recently a full 3 inch cat-back exhaust for my GMC Canyon. Kevin provided advice about which system, and which mufflers I should choose. I was very cautious, because I did not want a super loud or raspy V6 noise. After hearing my input, Kevin suggested that I use 2 Magnaflow mufflers instead of 1. The price for the whole cat-back , as well as the additional muffler was extremely reasonable. This was less than what the brand-name pre-fabricated exhaust systems cost. Let me tell you, the sound is absolutely perfect. Not too obnoxious when just cruising, and gives you great feedback when you get heavy on the pedal. Kevin and Rebecca both provide great service, and great conversation while while I wait. But it takes a whole team to make the dream work! Thank you to the whole team there at Ed Hanson's! You can tell that this business truly cares about its customers. I will never go anywhere else. A++ Thank you! read more

Perfect service all the way across the board. I had a full custom cat back exhaust put on my Hyundai Tiburon for 600$! I got to listen to different mufflers on my car and pick the one I wanted. Now my car sounds beautiful, and gets better mileage.. Also, Ed is prior military and gave me a great discount for being in the service. Worth the drive from miramar. read more

Wow, I had heard friends rave about the service but never needed such service. It may sounds crazy but even though I work some 20 miles away and live 60 miles north I will find a way to get back to Spring Valley when I need any exhaust system worked on. You all are Great, thank you. I'll be your customer for Life! read more

Ed and his team are wonderfully pleasant and professional. During my most recent experience (installation of dual-exhaust tips), they attended to me quickly and applied the utmost care to my car during service (thanks Kevin). The quality of products and workmanship can't be beat, and their pricing was very VERY attractive. When I was searching for someone to do this work, everyone with whom I spoke pointed me to Ed Hanson's Muffler Service ... and they were so right to do so. read more

Brought my Taco in for new cats to pass smog. The team had me in and out in no time with no appointment. Great team from the receptionist to the owner down to the techs. They made me feel at home the whole visit. First time there and not my last. They won me over as a customer. Thanks! read more

I came in with the wrong catalytic converters Rebecca suggested that I get them replaced. Great place! Excellent service, fast, reliable, and the most outstanding customer service I have ever seen. I felt like I was back in the 70's or 80's by the way I was treated. I even had Mr. Hanson's wife offer me a ride home. Now that is something you do not get everyday. I will recommend him to everyone I know from now on. He made my Mustang Shelby GT500 sound like a classic all around American Muscle car! Once again thank you so much Mr. Hanson! read more

Anytime I have exhaust work that needs to be done, I will always go to Ed Hanson's. They recently installed a Ford Racing Dual exhaust conversion on my 2009 Mustang V6. Sounds and looks great. I was invited into the pit to look at their work. I could've stayed under the car for a week admiring their work. Great craftsmanship. This is the fourth vehicle i have brought to them since the late-90's. They have a knowledgeable, professional, friendly, helpful staff. Thanks Ed! read more

Five Stars aren't enough. Ed Hanson has been a part of our automotive family now for 20+ years. He doesn't get a perfect score because we've known him for so long.... We've known him so long because he's always earned perfect scores with us (and apparently with so many others). Had an issue with my custom exhaust system that the dealer couldn't fix. They referred me to Ed Hansons in Spring Valley. When I called, the lady that answered was pleasant and told me to come on in, even though it was 3:30 in the afternoon. When I got there, they got right to work, welded the problem area, and I was on my way in less than 1/2 hour for only $65. Took the dealer 2 days and $115 to figure out they couldn't fix it. I would definitely go back. I also liked their office. It really showed that they support the community, veterans, and car shows. Really nicely decorated. read more

I had a problem with the noise level of the exhaust on my car. It needed to be quietened down considerably. After speaking to Ed, and explaining that it had to be quietened without a loss in performance, he designed and installed custom made pieces into the system.
