Lots of parking by including the parking garages located near the restaurant. My first impression was that it was a little empty but that did not resemble the service or food we received. The food was phenomenal! The staff were friendly and quick. We ordered an appetizer and then our dinner. This restaurant is served family style so be aware if one prefers steak and the other, a different meal. I ordered the filet minion with garlic mashed potatoes and Brussels with bacon. I also order the sweet and spicy shrimp as an appetizer. Dinner didn't disappoint! Enough space to have parties or any other engagement. Not what it use to be. Had reservations, but didn't appear to need it. Server wasn't very attentive and kept pushing their wines and disparaged the selection we made. Had to flag her down for refills. Others in my party ordered filet and they looked good and cooked perfectly, but they said the flavor was subpar. My prime rib-eye was supposed to be medium rare, but was more medium. Flavor was good, but not outstanding. Brussel sprouts were decent, but creamed spinach was like a glob of cheese. I came here around 3pm today and was the only customer here and it was absolute nightmare. I waited 30 minutes for a dozen oysters than came horribly shuck. I then had to wait another 25 for an undercooked steak. Everytime I come here they completely drop the ball. The "manager" Rob, does everything else but manage the restaurant. We love going to Eddie Merlots. The food is always top notch and the service never disappoints. The afternoon of our dinner the manager called saying he saw a note on our reservation about our table placement and wanted to make sure they had the one we liked. This is the favorite place of my friends for happy hour, but this last time was so different. It's like they completely forgot what customer service is. We were served late - food was cold - a waiter filled my water glass and then he walked away with it. A few months ago, we ordered cappuccino for end of the meal and they said the machine was broken... Guess what? We ordered this time too, and the machine is still broken! It's like their focus is somewhere else and it's not just one person - it's everyone. Recently dined at EM for my bday. Unfortunately, the third time wasn't the charm. I chose EM's based on my past two experiences thinking "How could I go wrong?", especially for my bday. Bowie to Ashburn is quite a drive for a less than exceptional meal, and that is exactly what we got. The spicy shrimp tempura was okay, but quite greasy. The crab cake entree was not good, but the best part of my meal was the King Crab and Corn Bisque, that was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered a steak (well done), and was going to eat it until I had to insist that he let the waitress know that he asked for well done, not burnt -- which I emphasized when he gave her his order. She tried to explain that well-done to the chef means "charred". Well that very well may be, but the chef should know that a $79 steak should not be charred to inedible! Another steak was brought out that tasted so bland we just decided we'd box it and season it at home for leftovers. Maybe the chef was insulted? Who knows, but white linen dining should come with exceptional service and food to match. We got neither. Again, the best part of the meal was the bisque it was so good I took a pic, didn't want to take a pic of burnt steak), so order more at your own risk. Oh, and the ambiance was very nice. Doubt if we'll take the drive again, just for bisque. :-( One more thing, "Maddie" (sp) the hostess who welcomed us in was very polite and professional! read more

My friends and I decided to get together and sat in the "lounge" area. The steaks were average and overpriced. My friend ordered the Wagu Ribeye and it was extremely full of veins and fat. In the past he had had Wagu and if aged it does not have this texture. The buffalo filet was not seasoned and bland. On the positive side the Brussel sprouts were wonderful. The mashed potato's and broccoli were not seasoned (one would think a basic veg would be?). Not recommending it as our server was consistently absent and when we needed service. Look for somewhere else to go for the dollar $$$ price point. read more

Folks I am truly struggling at how to approach this experience with also attempting to give my 18 year old son a wonderful culinary experience on his 18th birthday I got to to tell you that it is shameful to have such brands out there that reflect and advertise the upmost culinary experience with numerous $$$$$$$$ signs but the execution and product delivered end up sooooooo below average !!!!!! From start Had to get up and prompt a passing by waiter for attention as the wait for anyone to check in and take a drink order should be the expectation Then the red wine ordered was out of stock while being suggested a totally different red for an additional 15$$ Then come the appetizers Beef carpaccio lacking lemon, olive oil and true Parmesan and or Pecorino Romano then get this ; served with potato chips wow the nerves.... Fried tenderloin pot stickers squirted with a horrible sweet and non spicy Asian sauce which seemed to be delivered by some broad line distributor as a ready to fry frozen appetizer Oyster Rockefeller tasted descent but lacked lemon wedges Then came the Wagyu meatballs which, in all honesty looked like two Angelina frozen meatballs from Harris Teeter licked with a bland tomato concoction and a sprinkle of this concrete textured like Parmesan shredded cheese As we all disputed the idea of settling the bill at that moment and possibly walking across the street to a Matchbox to enjoy a burger and or Pizza and wings; for the sake of our 18 year old's request to proceed with ordering dinner we decided on the veal porterhouse medium but served mw , a 12oz prime strip and the 16oz prime strip with truffle French fries (frozen fry sprayed with Home goods truffle oil .... ) This is enough reality !!!! Two of us went there for dinner last night. While the servers were courteous, it took them a very long time to bring our orders and to even notice if we needed anything. We had to ask for them a couple of times. Our drinks came after we got our appetizer and salads. Not desirable! After about 35-40 minutes, we got our dinner. We had been there once before at the outdoor seating. While the service was even more poor then, the food was good. I cannot say the same for this visit. I was supposed to get blackened shrimp, they were anything but! Just sautéed in butter with NO hint of being blackened. One shrimp had some Cajun seasoning, that's all. I asked for them to be correctly made. When they were brought back, barely "blackened, but with more Cajun seasoning on all of them. My mashed potatoes were dry and tasteless and not at all soft, fluffy or flavorful. My daughter's loaded potato, had about a teaspoon of grated cheese on top, a bare sprinkle of bacon bits and that was it. So our meal was EXTREMELY disappointing. She also got her glass of wine after we complained to the management. The only good parts of the meal, were the salad, bread and dessert. Hardly justifying the 3 figure cost of dinner! The Prices are high, the service was slow, the pacing of the meal was slow, and the food was warm at best (not hot) and under seasoned. I think my biggest problem with this place is that it is very over priced for what you get. I went with a group of 6 people and we split a lot of the apps and sides so I think we got a good taste of a lot of the dishes. I tried the bison filet and ordered it medium. It came out with no pink in the center at all and dry as a bone. It was a 6 oz cut but it seemed much smaller, I think I could have finished it in 5 or 6 normal bites, and it was $50. A few of the people in my party got the Wagyu ribeye which is a $100. I tried a bite and it was a good steak but far from being worth $100. One of the apps we got was the charcuterie and cheese board which is $20. It had very little cheese and meat on it but a lot of grapes and apple slices. I specifically order the cauliflower au gratin and I was a little disappointed. It was basically cauliflower with some cheese sauce on top with a bit of bread crumbs. I was hoping it was more like a mac and cheese but with cauliflower instead of noodles. In summary, the food isn't bad but it isn't great and certainly not worth the price they are asking for. Steak places are a dime a dozen and the only reason this one stands out is because of the cost. read more

We went for our anniversary tonight. The food was amazing and the server William was outstanding. I can't remember the last time we had service that good. We had appetizers, salad, dinner and dessert. We had the steak which was phenomena. A few of us had seafood (ahi and sea bass) that was really good. We had dinner at Eddie Merlot's in Ashburn on Christmas night. Yet, I need to add what the experience was like... (Please follow) Our reservation was for 5:30 pm We arrived at 5:20 pm Sign on the center of the entrance door read "Proper Attire Required". My Stetson sat on the chair to my right (I was always taught that all hats were removed at the dinner table) At the table directly beyond us; 2 of the 3 males (party of 5) kept their baseball caps on (reversed) throughout. We were given wine lists and menus As the server(s) asked for our drink selection  ...we had 3 (2 wait staff and 1 bus) throughout the night each trying to take our order and not duplicate or miss what the other had done It wasn't working well I ordered iced tea, Huixin ordered "hot" water please We were asked for our dinner selection... We asked for a few more minutes to decide One of our wait staff came back shortly and took our dinner order I ordered the Prime 16oz ribeye, med rare Huixin order the Lamb chops that were prominently displayed on the front of the menu We were then told that Lamb chops were not available (Would have been nice if we were informed 20 minutes earlier that the Lamb Chops were not available that night) Several minutes later the 2nd of our wait staff returned to take our order I ordered the 16oz prime and Huixin ordered the 7oz wagyu fillet Subsequently our drinks arrived.  My iced tea and Huixin's "hot" water ... we paid no attention as the drinks were being placed as we were in conversation A few moments later we addressed our drinks... Huixin's "hot" water was in a cold water glass with condensation covering same It was ICE water... sans ice It then took nearly 15 minutes to find a bus staff to address this inconsistency for us The first of dinner then arrived... approx 6:41pm  (note - our reservation was 5:30pm - Eddie Merlot's puts it in print that they allow 90 minutes per party) 3 times different wait staff came by our table carrying trays of food for other diners, above their shoulders (we were seated in the center aisle of the back dining room.  There were 2 other lines of tables, one on my left against the window and another on my right against the wall with a total of only 3 parties for both lines) Each time the serving staff carrying the trays over their left shoulders passed over Huixin's head. This concerned her a bit and we asked could we be seated on the line to my left against the windows. We were informed that ALL the tables were booked and this would not be possible The entire line of tables against the window received NO more diners for the duration of our stay,  and as we were leaving it became evident they were closing that portion of dining for the night. As we had been begun to dine, 10 minutes in to meal, with our mouths full, a gentleman in a suit decided to ask how our meal was going. With my mouth full I just nodded and shined him on. For nearly and hour and a half no one had taken any interest into how our meal was. A few moments later Huixin looked at me and our table and asked me if we could get some "paper" napkins? I know this is not unusual for her, so within 10 minutes I found a buss staff to address this issue. We were informed "Yes, right away" By now our meal had lost all of it's inherent heat. 30 minutes later there were still no paper napkins. We then found one of our wait staff to address this issue, While at the same time, Huixin asked why did her wagyu fillet look identical (except for size) to my ribeye. We showed the last few slices of each to our wait staff (and to us, they tasted the same) There was no definitive answer. Eddie Merlot's may have wonderful dinners and service at other locations, But for us; this location is still trying to find it's identity, All of the procedures fell apart. Huixin was very upset (That means I take the blame). But in fairness, my 16oz ribeye was nice As for ASHBURN - Eddie Merlot's I can never take my fiancée there again. We recently visited Eddie Merlot's for dinner and drinks as part of a friends birthday celebration at One Loudoun. It is within easy walking distance from the hotel we booked for the night (Tru by Hilton) but, even if we had driven, there was plenty of parking. We had reservations and were quickly seated when we arrived 15 minutes early. I have to admit, the table setting was kind of insane. Maybe a little overkill. But I get it, they want to present as upscale. Our waitress was a attentive and knowledgeable. Although we didn't get steak this time it was nice to learn they have their Wagyu selection back. I had the Mojo Shrimp and Scallops and my husband had the Sea Bass. Both were divine! Aww didn't get any appetizers as we chose to just enjoy the Old Bay dusted crusty warm bread. But seriously the best part for me was the White Berry Martini (or three) that I ordered. Fresh fruit, appropriately strong, and with a sweet (but not overpoweringly so) taste. Seriously, I highly recommend this cocktail next time you visit! It was a great evening in an inviting atmosphere with cozy chairs, and great company. We will definitely be back. read more

Very disappointed in this restaurant. It's definitely, no Eddie V's! The server didn't seem knowledgeable of the menu, and didn't seem to be able to answer our questions regarding the menu items. The Waldorf Salad left a lot to be desired. Very sparse on the pecans, apples, and blue cheese crumbles the menu promised. It took 25 minutes for the filet trio. The oscar was the best since it had a few pieces of crab. The Cedar Plank Salmon was okay, but nothing to write home about. The Jalapeno Scalloped potatoes missed the mark. They like the asparagus and much of the other food lacked seasoning. Overall not a great experience. The sweet and spicy shrimp was the most flavorful thing although it was soggy and all of the tempura batter fell off when we tried to pick it up with a fork. The ambiance was the best part. I do wish it was dimmer and had candles on the table. The valet walked over to our table and said "I'm about to go home, so here are your keys. Your vehicle is parked out front". The restaurant wasn't closing for another 30 minutes. I usually go to DC Prime, but made the mistake of switching to this restaurant. I won't be back. read more

My friend and I decided to try this restaurant as we like steakhouses and the chance to have a leisurely meal to catch up. The first thing that was really off putting was the decor. This is a very expensive steakhouse and the decor was worse than a Cheesecake Factory. The Ashburn location is extremely badly designed with any prime booth seating being between both ends of the kitchen. The restaurant wasn't busy, but we couldn't get a good seat anywhere. I had the corn/crab bisque as a starter. It was buttery and ample, but lacked any real crab and corn-mostly liquid. My friend had the fried oysters and said she had definitely had better. We had drinks and I have to say it was one of the less good cocktails I have had out in a while. The liquor tasted old and as the bar was hidden off in a completely different room (another design flaw), there was little way to actually ask for something better. For the main, I had a filet and my friend had a filet, and asked for some scallops on the side. My filet was burnt on the outside. It was a good piece of meat, but tough on the outside because it had been set on the grill too long. For the price paid at this location, the meat should have been perfectly grilled, and it was far from that. Whoever cooked it hadn't cooked it with any love. The only saving grace was the waiter. He was extremely good and accommodating--just working in the wrong place. This is an expensive place, but not worth the expense. read more

Wonderful happy hour! Spiced cherry mules were delicious. The tempura green beans and wasabi dip were terrific. The waygu cheeseburgers were juicy and flavorful. The fries and chips were excellent. The creme brûlée - on the house for my friend's birthday - was a lovely finale. The weak item was the tomato burrata salad; they definitely could have done more with the tomato prep. Went to Eddie Merlots for dinner with a friend for the first time Saturday. First off - those Who have never been do not follow the directions that yelp has to get to this place. The yelp directions had me out in the middle of Ashburn Road and Hay road and the restaurant is not there - it's at one Loudoun. so for the first few minutes I had to explain to my friend why I was 30 minutes late - luckily we had a reservation and she had a fruity drink to keep her company. I knew it was a la carte and expensive- but very excited that another good restaurant had come to Ashburn with prime steak. Dinner was delicious- I had the filet with asparagus and hollandaise. My friend had the sirloin with broccoli, and we split a Caesar salad and mashed potatoes. Did I mention food was delicious? All veggies very fresh. Potatoes a little underwhipped and chunky but a lovely meal. Kenneth was our server and he was great. They were slammed. Ken didn't check on our meal til we were mid through. So, had anything been wrong I would have been frustrated but there wasn't. For dessert we had the carrot cake. I don't recommend. Too huge and too soggy. It can feed a table of four. I don't like big chunks of pineapple in my carrot cake, so not great. I will say the caramel sauce around it though was delish! Will come here again for certain, but I highly recommend sharing sides. My 7 oz filet was $42. With the hollandaise. They should not charge extra for the sauce for god's sake. When I come back I will order something that is less expensive for certain. The restaurant itself was beautiful. Well decorated. The lobster bisque was tasty and the mashed potatoes and asparagus were good. The ribeye however was disappointing. It lacked flavor and was pretty fatty. Did not taste like Australian wagyu. Just a plain old ribeye. There's so much competition in this area.
