Really cool menu. Food is fresh, well prepared and a good value. The staff was very friendly and helpful. As the menu has a lot of options, I had lots of questions and the nice guy taking my order was really nice and patient. I really enjoyed the quesadilla and grilled sausage. I couldn't eat my sandwich so I took it with me after finishing the other food eating in. The sandwich was on point and tasty! The Halloween season decorations were fun but the lighting is a definite ambience killer. Place was clean but the partially lit bare fluorescent tube lighting needs replacement. That won't stop me from going back though. A few more tables or a couple booths along the wall would make it more inviting, but that's not what I go to a restaurant for, it's the food. We've been coming to this wonderful establishment since we bought our house in OP in 2018. The food is always on-point; we've never had anything bad from here [I don't think it's in their nature!] The minute you walk in the door, you're treated like family. The food is on-par with what my friends' mamas made down in the city back n the day. It's all comfort food, tbh. So much homemade stuff, too! Don't sleep on the gumbo, the BBDs [#iykyk, but they're beef dip sammies & they're amazing!], or the amazing salads! We're a fam of 4: 2 adults & my teen/20-something daughter. My older daughter is picky as heck & she still always finds something she loves to eat here. My husband and I are forced to eat on the healthier side bc of health issues & we're addicted to some of the salads. Everything is made with love & heart! You defo won't go hungry either! Overly expensive, food was a little small and dry. I expected super food considering the prices. I would not recommend this place. I got the 9 mile club, which had less filling than a homemade sandwich. My wife got the Big Willie Philly, which was tasty but also small. I love visiting this family owned business whenever I visit Detroit. Although wait times can be long if you don't call your order in ahead of time, everything is fresh and made with love. They are open until 8 PM today, Grill shut down by 7:30 PM. It's next to a sushi place. It's mostly a carry out spot. We ordered the Greek salad with grilled chicken, Greek dressing and a chicken Cobb salad with Vidalia vinaigrette. The cookies, brownie, parfait and muffins all look good. Keeping it simple since it's late and I am not terribly hungry either. The Cobb salad was good for my hubby. The chicken is cold and a bit dry. The Greek salad isn't bad. Same cold and dry chicken. The dressing is decent. The yellow pepper is potent and tasted a bit off to me, happy there was only one. I let the woman behind the counter know. Service is warm and friendly. Came in for a smoothie while waiting on my sushi next door. Wish I would have walked in here first. I ordered three smoothies and a banana pudding cheese cake. The cashier recommended my smoothie and it was perfect. (Tropical getaway) I'll be coming to try one of their big beef sandwiches for sure! I finally was in the area to visit Pik Nik Basket to see what the hubbub has been :). I didn't get the standard sandwich but, a veggie quesadilla. I wasn't hungry enough for the sandwich and the quesadilla was a perfect size. It tasted great! Plenty of spinach, some cheese prominent. What was a great surprise was I took away dessert, the red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting. Sinfully good!! I will return for a sandwich but, will be tough to decide which one!! Customer service is impeccable! Top tier. The menu is large enough for there to be options for everyone! And so many vegan options! I don't eat meat outside of fish so I love that! They are filling, fresh, and really get me through the work day. No additives, no sugared up fruit juices, no ice so it won't get watered down. Been 2x. Gumbo, pastrami & turkey sandwich, lemon/blueberry cheesecake parfait were all good and satisfying. The gumbo can be a tad spicy but once mixed well it wasn't so bad. Tried the nachos on the first visit, honestly didn't care for the tortilla chips used or cheese sauce. Meat was seasoned ok. But definitely will be back. We had the pita chips, tuna and beef sandwiches, and cookies. They make all of it themselves. The owners have been catering for years. Nice people. Great food, pretty good prices. There's nothing that can stop these guys. Great menu, food feels and tastes like your family made it, above and beyond excellent service. Stumbled across this place and was welcomed with opened arms. Mr. Will and Ms. Nikki and the family has generously given my family and I all the love they could possibly give inside each and every dish I've ordered. From the the Turkey Chili to Tomato soup, all have been made in house and fresh that day along with their delicious pastries like the Strawberry Cheesecake Muffin to Peach & Apple Cobbler. The space inside is roomy and even has a chess table in front of you ever want to spark up a game if you're waiting. I came in here one time for lunch from work, and instantly felt very silly due to the fact that it was looking like a children's play area/ immitation piknik area. I ordered a turkey chili and a Greek chicken salad, it took quite a while for them to have it done and I was the only one there that had ordered anything at the time, the other person there was already having there meal. Aside from the very long wait, the food was very bland and didn't have much flavors in it. The chili needed a lot of love and the salad too. They didn't have salt or pepper shakers for tables so she put some in a mini cup for me and I also wanted a lime wedge to try and doctor up the bland chili. It didn't work. The lady and other younger woman there were very kind, nice, and polite and their service was excellent. Unfortunately the food and silliness of the shop ruined it for me. read more

In search of something healthful, I found Pik Nik basket while searching Yelp. I had seen the sign on a small strip of stores on 9 Mile, but never ventured to see what it was. Boy, I should have. I've been driving further to get smoothies, when I could have been patronizing this little gem. I went in close to closing last night and was greeted by a lovely family who welcomed me warmly. We chatted about the many healthful options on their menu and even discussed several other topics while I waited on my order. The young lady who served as the cashier was very sweet and humorous. Stopping in made my night and absolutely sealed the deal for me coming back often. I ordered a smoothie which was chock full of goodness including peaches, spinach and kale. I can't remember them, but it also contained other fruits. The combination was divine and I can't wait to have another. I also had chicken salad on a croissant. The salad was fresh and flavorful. The croissant was flaky and tasty. The total for my sandwich and smoothie was about $12.50. I was very pleased with the entire experience and will definitely Yelp about it with folks who live in the area. read more

I've been a patron since they opened. I love their energy. My favorite item is their tuna sandwich served on a croissant with swiss cheese. I've never had a soup there I didn't totally enjoy. The gumbo is off the chain good. Their baked good are always a hit for me. No I didn't enjoy the seafood grilled cheese, but I knew when ordering I was a purist. They are on the delivery platforms. They do let you try the soup before you order it, plus! I had the turkey chili and it was very yummy. I just wish they offered a smaller size as they only come in 16oz.
