Amazing food and service! We got two "normal"drinks- normal size is a GREAT bang for your buck. For food, we got the queso fundito with chorizo and tortillas to start after the complimentary chips and salsa. The queso fundito was exactly what we wanted- cheesy, slightly spicy, very flavorful. For a main, we shared the molcajete with shrimp and steak per our waiter's recommendation that came with tortillas on the side. This was the perfect amount of food for two people. It was so savory and the perfect portion for 2 people. The service was fantastic- quick, helpful, and quality. Definitely would come back, best dinner we have had in PV! read more

This place is a great example of "check the bathroom before ordering anything." I'll get to that in a bit... It was our last day in Puerto Vallarta, but our flight wasn't until much later in the afternoon, so plenty of time for one last meal. Hubbers was in the mood for tacos, so what better place to hit than one called Taquito Lindo. We came through and was kinda disappointed it was no longer there and that this place now stood where it used to be. No biggie, I looked it up on Yelp and found some decent reviews. That said, why not. Party of 4, initially, which became party of 6 about 15 minutes after we got seated. (The 2 additions had other plans at first but decided to join us later...) Comp'd chips and salsa made it to our table rather quickly. So did my colada, so we were off to a good start. And that's pretty much where the "good" ended. OFF THE BAT: I want to mention that our server did his job: I really want to make this clear. The problem lies with everyone else behind him. It wasn't even busy (there was only another table of 8 - who were pretty much done by the time we were seated) so I'm not really sure what caused the issue. ONE: It took soooooo long to get our food. (Like over an hour long.) TWO: When the food finally got to us, it was all wrong. Someone ordered a carne asada burrito and got a shrimp burrito instead. Because she didn't want to risk waiting another hour for her meal, she decided to eat it. Someone who ordered fish tacos ONLY got fish, shrimp and marlin tacos. It was discovered at first bite when he tasted shrimp. It's a good thing he's not allergic to it, so they dodged a bullet on this one. I ordered the fish, shrimp and marlin tacos but got fish tacos only. Like the burrito order, I didn't want to wait another hour to get this corrected, so I just forced it. I had a clear line of sight to the cook from where I was sitting and learned he was working solo, but these kinds of food shouldn't have taken an hour to get to our table most especially when our server was back there trying to help him. I also noticed 3 or 4 other staff just standing around doing absolutely nothing except talking to (I assume) were friends. They had no intention of helping out even just a bit. At the end of our meal, someone in our party decided to make a bathroom stop before leaving because we planned taking a walk along the marina. She returned with a disgusted look saying how nasty and dirty their bathroom is. Another customer who just got seated said the same thing, which prompted her to up her company and leave to eat elsewhere. (We saw them somewhere else on our walk back an hour later.) If they cannot keep their bathroom clean, I can only assume they wash their hands in this dirty and disgusting bathroom or they don't wash their hands at all. And aside from the cook and our server, what are the rest of the staff doing just standing around doing absolutely nothing?! Go clean the dang bathrooms!!! FOOD: 2. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. SERVICE: 5 for the server and cook because they were hustling. 0 for the rest of the staff. VALUE: 1. Sooooo not worth it. PARKING: N/A. There might be street parking, but we walked because our hotel wasn't far. OVERALL: 1.75. It was not a good way to start our last day in Puerto Vallarta. If anything I felt bad for the cook (who probably got frazzled and confused) even more so for our server who was working really hard. I tipped well anyway in hopes that he got most of it. (I doubt that, but I still hope he did.) They are situated in a great location with great views of the marina. I really hope they get it together and take advantage of this. They can start by cleaning the bathroom and mandating those lazy stand-arounds to get some work done because they have plenty to do. Another one on my list of one-and-done. read more

There was only a few people seated when we got there so we thought perfect, this will be great cause we had skipped breakfast and were very hungry by this point. Started off great, got drinks and chips & salsa quickly. There were six of us so it did take a bit for all of us to make up our minds on what we wanted to order. The server came up to us twice before we were ready, again a good sign things will be quick. But we were wrong, once ordered it took a while to get our food that we all started asking each other if it had really been that long or we were just hungry. When the food finally came out most was correct, one person in our party ordered a quesadilla with no onions and unfortunately got onions, the replacement was relatively quick compared to the long wait we originally had. It's located at the north end of La Marina. Quiet, but very nice. Good food. We both had Pastor Burritos. I must say that I'm no fan of something sweet like pineapple in my Mexican dishes. However the chef knows exactly what he's doing by providing a spicy smooth salad which offsets the sweet and makes it wonderful. Highly recommend this little place. Steer clear of this place. At 11:30 a.m. I sat down and was given a breakfast menu. I told them I wanted the lunch menu, which they brought. I ordered a lunch chicken burrito that included beans inside and rice, guacamole and salsa on the side. There were no beans inside, instead it included a chopped egg-melted cheese mix. There was no rice on the plate. It's obvious I was given a breakfast burrito. I informed them and they claimed it was correct. I asked where the rice was and they asked me if I wanted rice. I said it was supposed to come with it. There was also no guacamole on the plate. They refused to make the order right. Instead of chicken I also think it had sliced pork in it, which I don't eat, and which is common in breakfast burritos. They took half an hour to bring the check and then had the audacity to ask me what percentage tip I wanted to include. read more

Came here for breakfast had breakfast for champs - chilaquiles were perfect, the steak so soft it melts in your mouth like butter! and the huevos divorciados ... perfect breakfast to start the day; the view of the marina was a plus. Amazing food! We got the red enchiladas, fried fish taco, and molcajetes. I asked for the fish taco - fried in tempura batter but you can get it grilled too. It was amazing and comes with this sauce to put on top. White and green bottles. They have a beautiful waterfront view. My husband and I were looking for a later dinner near hotel and this place was amaaaazing. We are so happy we came here. They serve you free chips and salsa as well. The salsa is super fresh and i loved the flavors. I had some complicated questions about the menu and they brought out someone to help me. I have my favorites here in PV after 18 years. But it's always worth trying a new place. So we tried this one. While service was fair, the menu was limited compared to other Mexican venues in the marina. Drinks were not all that well made. My mohito had mystery plant life in it, and if it was mint it certainly wasn't muddled. My partners Piña Colada had a nice coconut blend, but the Rum was MIA. My partners coconut shrimp was decent. My Portugede shrimp also known as shrimp garnidino was small shrimp, over cooked in bacon and was disappointing. Free teqilla shots at the end don't make it right. Just copy cat on the late Victor who in his place cane out and did shots with his customers. I won't be back. You want good Mexican in Puerto Vallartas marina district, Walk a little further to VICTORS. Victors TaCuba is still the best. read more

This restaurant was exactly what we wanted and it lived up to our expectations. It's one of the last businesses on that stretch of the marina, so keep walking and you will find it! I was after a yummy, traditional Mexican meal and my husband wanted tacos al pastor. We started with the steak quesadillas (a meal in itself) and two Corona Lights. Then, for our entrees, we chose the enchiladas Rojas (I subbed shrimp for chicken) and the tacos al pastor. We had two delicious mango margaritas for desert. The restaurant was quiet. The service was good and attentive. It's not super upscale, but exactly what you can expect from a nicer Mexican restaurant in the marina area. Not 5-star, white-glove service, but very good experience and exactly what we expected. The presentation and quality of the food was awesome. We will definitely return! read more

We went here for our first night in PV. Food was awful. Many items missing from plate. Had to ask to get the missing items. Told the waiter we were very disappointed and he said there was a new cook. While I can appreciate that, it does not explain having to flag him down for everything, including the bill and never checking on the food or if we wanted another drink. Very disappointing. The portions of these dishes were huge! We ordered two things of quesadillas and ate about a single plate's worth of food, and it was not too expensive either! It was also amazing, specifically the plain one, and tastes like the first authentic tortillas we've had so far in Mexico. The staff was nice enough to make quesadillas even though they are a lunch option, so don't be afraid to ask! You also receive complementary chips and salsa as well as tequila shots after the meal. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the service was a bit slow for the amount of people there. The couple that own this restaurant and the little boutique next door are amazingly warm and welcoming people! The food at Mariachiles was outstanding! I had the molcajete with chicken, steak, shrimp, chorizo, nopales and cheese. The sauce is rich and has such a deeply luscious flavour. My partner and i dined at Los mariachiles last night based on a recommendation from a neighboring tour guide whose rapport we quickly built. We are visiting from the states and are on the lookout for delicious, authentic Mexican food. We sat around 6:45pm. Wait staff was friendly. We asked to put the NBA finals on the tv and he accommodated us willingly. Our first issue was the wait time for the food. We were only one of two (or possibly three) tables in the entire restaurant. We received our food around 20-25 minutes later. The wait time was awful. I know this because we commented that we will be missing the sunset. They forgot my dipping sauce and when i asked the server, he said "they will have to make it." Which took another 5 minutes so i couldn't eat my shrimp and they got a little cold. (Shouldn't the dipping sauce come with the dish?) My boyfriends enchiladas were bland and not impressive. The guacamole was also lackluster and seemed like guacamole from a bag with lime juice only, no onions, cilantro, jalapeños. We paid 820 in pesos and we felt it was overpriced for the quality and the lack of appropriate time considering it was slow. We won't be back when we come next year. read more

A nice local spot in the marina. It's a short walk from the Marriott. Everything was fresh and home made. The chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful. The guacamole was tasty. I had the Molcajete and it was very good. My wife had the ceviche and she said it was the best she's had here. The coffee is also really good. The staff was friendly and they take credit cards. Plus they give you a shot of tequila On the house after your meal. Nice touch. If I'm back in the area, I'd gladly go again. read more
