We are beyond happy with the remodel Alex and his team did on our condo. They are really amazing and did a fantastic job remodeling our three bathrooms, replacing the floor of the entire condo, and helping transforming our den in a guess room. If you want neighbors who speak to you after your renovation, I'd call someone else. The workers doing our neighbors add-on have zero respect for the fact they are working in a neighborhood. They start before they are supposed to, stand on our property line wall to reach work, block my car and allow trash to fall into our yard (specifically nails). This morning (Saturday) I woke up at 8:30 to wooden planks being thrown into the workspace. Work should not even start until 9 on a Saturday, and items can be unloaded with some consideration for neighbors. It has been weeks with little progress and all of it happening 3 feet from my bedroom wall (how the plans were approved that close to another structure I have no idea but that's obviously not their fault). Very highly recommended. Roy and his team at Eden Builders did a fantastic job remodeling a small bathroom for us in a condo building on the Westside. He is an experienced contractor, knowledgeable and honest, he won't BS you and will tell you upfront when there are difficulties or problems ahead. From the start, Roy gave us a realistic price, a written proposal that included each stage, and he met with us in person to explain every detail. He kept to the schedule and was also able to adapt to some small changes and requests from us that came up along the way. This was a small bathroom, built in the 1970's, with old plumbing and a complete demolition needed. We had a designer (Eliah Prichard from Ellow Designs, also an amazing professional) help us figure out how to make the best of a tiny space. Roy and Eliah worked well together to manage the project smoothly. Eliah is an experienced design and construction professional and she helped us select the best fixtures, tile, colors, etc, and coordinated their payment and delivery. Our building had specific requirements and our City Hall is known to be difficult when issuing permits, scheduling inspectors, etc. Somehow, Roy managed the entire process with a minimum of delays, lots of patience and a cheerful disposición that made everything so much easier. Eden Builders were also very responsive anytime we had a question, when we sent a text message or an email the response was usually within a couple of hours (even when Roy was on vacation abroad). They kept to their price and showed up every day for work when they said they would be there. We knew that Roy has some major projects in areas like Malibu, entire houses, very expensive construction, and that our bathroom was a minor thing for his company. We thought we might not have all his attention all the time. But somehow, he always made us feel like a million dollar client, he was very attentive and there when we needed to talk (not that much as the whole thing went smoothly, but it was still great to have him be so responsive). He understood that for us, this was a big investment; we felt he treated our project with the same consideration as he would treat a major client. All the Eden Builders workers were polite, professional and considerate. Sometimes they wouldn't even accept the small offer of a glass of water, out of politeness (we finally would just leave them a pitcher of water and some glasses there). The construction area was always clean and organized, they'd even put up new plastic dividers when the old ones got dusty, keeping tools and materials out of the way. Eden uses experienced professionals for every area, whether plumbing or electrical or tiling or carpentry (even the picky building inspectors noted that). We'd never worked with Eden Builders before and their estimate was about 20% higher than we'd budgeted for, so we hesitated, we thought it would end up being even more. But it was not, they kept to the budget, and it was worth every penny. Roy did not go over the proposed amount, he's an honest person, and he provides quality work, so this was an investment that has really paid off. We now have a beautiful new bathroom, with great plumbing. We hope to work with Eden Builders again for future projects. read more

This review is long overdue, and specifically for Alex Voloshin. If yelp would allow me to give Alex 10 stars out of 5, I would definitely give him 10 stars. Where do I start? From the get go, my husband and I had met with 4-5 other companies for our home addition. Every other company was a joke compared to Alex. They would give us a range of how much our job was going to cost without breaking down the details. When we received Alex's bid, I was so amazed! He listened and took down notes for every little detail that we discussed from the day we met, and broke down all the costs involved. Eden Builders was not the cheapest or the most expensive quote. But because of Alex's attention to detail and responsiveness, we decided to go with Eden Builders. Our whole construction process was estimated to take 5 months-and we literally pretty much took that long. During the process, Alex was patient and understanding with the quality of work we wanted. Nothing was approved by Alex to be finished unless it looked perfect. He came by our house every day that he had his workers there to check that everything was completed correctly. I don't know if Alex ever rests. He would answer our texts no matter how late it was at night. The end result was beautiful!! Now that we have moved in, it's bittersweet that we have to part ways with Alex. So, all in all, please do yourself a favor if you are going to remodel, and call Eden Builders. My standards are high, if I'm paying for it I expect the best. With a long over due kitchen and 2 bath remodel I met with several builders getting increasingly frustrated until I met with Alex V. from Eden Builders. Alex was upfront, no bs and no game playing with the numbers. I had a few brief meetings, he emailed a detailed proposal and construction began. Jose and Beto were the best! 2.5 months later I have a modern state-of-the art kitchen and 2 beautiful bathrooms with custom tile and glass (will post photos shortly). Now that the project is completed, we can share that this remodeling provided us an unexpected pleasant experience - shocking we know! What a breath of fresh air! Dealing with Ron at Eden Builders has been an overall great experience. We enclosed an existing balcony to become a functional indoor multipurpose room. My dad is a general contractor but did not have the time/energy to do the project and I was worried that another contractor may not do as good of a job. You can understand my high expectations and Eden builders went above and beyond. From our first meeting until final, nothing has been too much trouble. I also really appreciate how flexible they were with timing. Not only that but their communication has been really great. We recently completed a house remodel through Eden Builders, and as my wife and I walk through our house, we are stunned by the attention to detail and incredible high standard of work that was done. It is nothing short of beautiful down to the last square inch. For about five years we talked about remodeling the house, making lists of what we wanted done. But horror stories from neighbors about their remodeling experiences and excuses like timing kept stalling out the project. Our kids went off to college and we still didn't do it. Then we went to my sister-in-law's house-warming party following their remodel job with Eden and I was literally shocked by how beautiful it was and satisfied they were. We finally decided it was time, and we contacted their contractor, Roy of Eden Builders. Roy is sincere, punctual with military precision, humble, and incredibly knowledgable about what a job will entail. He knew exactly what issues some of our requests would involve, such as the removal of a 1940's floor heater and restructuring of a sheer wall in our house. Thanks to our early meetings with Roy, we knew EXACTLY what to expect for the duration of the work. Years earlier we had contacted another contractor and the very first thing we heard was all about the money and the payment schedule, and not the work. With Eden Builders, we learned about the timeline, the game plan, and how to do things right without wasting money on some of our original plans. When the work began, about two weeks after our first meeting, the demolition team was incredible. They were early every day, considerate of the parts of our house not getting altered, clean, and friendly. They were professional and polite, and it at times felt like they were house guests. From there the rebuild team came in and there was literally not a down day in the process. They worked long days and got things done efficiently. I cannot say thank enough to Luis and his coworkers. Next came the electrical work, and Emerson and his team hit an even higher level of professionalism and expertise than the first team. Again, there was not a missed day, as people showed up every day at 7:00 AM ready to work. We had original wiring from 1941 in our house, and they managed to update everything in record time. As we walk around reveling in our new found arsenal of working outlets, we can't help but smile. After that came the floor guys, and Jesus and his team were perhaps the most attentive workers ever. Our floor was the original hard wood floor, or so I thought. I was dead set on wanting to keep that part of the house, because I believed wood from that era was better. As they went to work, we discovered that patch work had already been done and that the previous work had been a mix-and-match of wood that in may spots had not matching slotting. Jesus and his team removed bad planks, the poorly seemed replacement wood from maybe the 90s, and pieces in squeaky areas. When they finished, I stood their shocked at how beautiful the floor was. They replaced the floor with wood better than the original wood and there is not a squeak to be found anywhere. The painters followed and they fit the high standard we had grown to expect. Bryce and his team came twice, once to pre-paint and a second time to finish of after the construction work had been completed. It looks like a brand new house. What really added the right touch for us was that Roy sent in cleaners at the end. These people could make a sterile cleanroom cleaner. So as we look back at our completed project, a few things really stand out. 1) The attention to detail of every team that was involved in the project. 2) That Roy met with us weekly throughout the project to keep us updated. 3) That everyone we dealt with from Eden was professional and polite. 4) That the project finished faster than we had expected. It took the exact amount of time Roy proposed, but based on what we had always heard, we expected it to take 50% longer than proposed. 5) The positivity of everyone who came to visit our house and help make it nice. I cannot thank you guys enough, from Roy, to Carlos, to Luis, to Emerson, to Jesus, to Bryce, to Barbara, to every member of their team. I contacted five companies for an overhaul of my entire house and garage, and Eden builders came up with the best ideas for my kitchen, which included moving a window and a wall I wouldn't have thought to move. I ended up redoing the entire kitchen, garage, bathrooms, getting built-ins and a new fireplace surround in the family room, replacing the carpet in the living-dining, bedrooms area with hardwood, and repainting the entire house. There were no major problems and any minor issues (mostly paint touch-ups and small repairs) were resolved immediately, with no impact to the schedule.
