This is a nice little park. It's very convenient and there's plenty of parking nearby. That's free. It's very close to Chabot College where I work occasionally. I'm here in the middle of the day on a Monday and there's hardly anybody here so I can't talk to the kind of people who come here or what their dogs are like. But the park itself is pretty nice. Eden Greenway has literally gone to the dogs. it's a small strip of land under some overhead power lines. 2 separate fenced dog parks. one for 32 pounds up. another for 32 pounds and less. the former park is very large. double the size of the one for small dogs. . not easily accessible from hesperian. one has to drive a block via Baton to access from a side street. there's a side stretch of land to the left with some concrete benches for non-dog visitors. haven't gone to enough dog parks to rate this dog park, it's small however. no parking lot. visitors need to park wherever they can. read more

This is one of the worst parks I've ever been to, HOWEVER, I do appreciate the dog park, no matter how sad this park looks. This ENTIRE park could use some serious grooming. Perhaps some new sow grass, add some lavender bushes, some colorful flowers, a few statues, a water fountain, nice trees and throw in some picnic tables? It's just a giant land of dried up grass with a cement trail. It's not very welcoming or aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. But onward to the doggy section... There are 2 segregated areas, one for small dogs under 30ish pounds and one for large dogs. Both sections have ample room to run, mingle with the dingles and play play play. I like that a lot! And the dog owners, so far, have been friendly and made small talk on our pooches. Dog owners love all dogs, of course!! The great thing about this park are there are plenty of benches to sit on to watch over your dog. There's a doggy water fountain and free poopy bags (don't bank on these, be sure to bring your own bag, as they run out). And I especially like the segregated play areas for small and larger dogs. I don't need to worry about big dogs running down my little dogs while I'm there. The bad thing are the patches of dirt and dried up yellow grass and of course the aesthetics of the entire park itself. And I did encounter a peculiar dog owner that may prevent me from coming back alone. The owner kept telling his dog to play with me, hug me, kiss me, sit with me... that was kinda weird and very uncomfortable. I liked the dog but not his owner, instead, I got the heevy jeevies! So, my recommendation, be on alert mode! But in the end, my dogs had a blast here and was able to release townhouse living energy here. My dogs wide open mouths with tongues hanging out and glistening happy eyes was all the look I needed from them... priceless! Happy dog, happy life, right?! read more

We brought our 3 month old puppy here to play with other small dogs for the first time. This is a really small dog park compared to some of the ones I been to with my other dog I had before she passed away It hsd no play structure just grass and a dirt area near the benches, The dirt area does get muddy after it rains. They don't take care of this dog park like they should. The people at this location that day was totally unsociable. They need to find a personality and sense of humor. Lots of these dog owners are not very friendly. They bring these little flea bitten mutts that just bark constantly and like to nip at other dogs These old ladies just give you that nasty stare down like "Go away" Grandma's need to stay home with those ankle biters and play Scrabble & Go Fish So if you see any old ladies here best to go to another dog park. read more

I wish I had found this dog park earlier. It's so close to my apartment and I could have saved some money coming here instead of puppy social! The park is relatively new in Hayward and it is POPULAR with the dogs! I came on a gloomy day after the rain and there were a lot of dogs (about 8-10 at the big dog area). So if you want your four-legged friends to burn off some energy, come here. The other dogs will definitely tire out your dog. It's split into two areas, big dog and little dog. It isn't like Drigon Dog Park where there is an agility course, just an open field with benches on the side for the owners. There is a poo bag stand, but it was empty (so -1 star). Great place to chuck a ball or frisbee for your dog. As I said earlier, lots of people, lots of dogs. And most of the dogs are friendly! Minus a few because one was a humping machine trying to hump many of the dogs there, and one was just mean and barking and lunging at other dogs... but otherwise, your four-legged friend will enjoy him/herself. Parking.. lots of it. You don't need to worry. And bring a towel for your dog. Mine was covered in dirt, mud, slobber.. haha. After nearly 10 years of my bitching about Hayward not having a dog park, we finally got one. And it took me over a year to finally visit it. To be fair, I didn't hear about it until a few months ago. But that's no excuse. I have Yelp, after all. We were in the big dog area, and there were not many dogs to play with. But the other owners were very friendly and considerate. Their dogs were nice, too. It's grassy, which is good. There are some muddy patches, not too many. Lots of benches and poo bags and parking. While I still love Drigon Dog Park, I'm very pleased to have this park in our home town, and it will definitely be our regular stop. read more

Nice little dog park frequented by fairly friendly pets and owners. Most of our visits were fine except for the couple of times when a poorly trained pooh incited a growling, fur flying ruckus. The small-dog area is grassy and the large-dog area is part grass, part mud, so be warned. Otherwise, there was space for my Sweet Pea to full on sprint for balls. read more

The park was okay. Patchy grass. Mostly dirt. We brought our husky (looks intimidating but completely harmless) and he was immediately attacked by one of the dogs. Some lady explained that the dog was a regular here and just didn't know our dog. But that's not an excuse. the owner was friendly and did apologize. A few minutes later a different dog tries to attack my dog. And that was it for us. We had to leave. Never coming back. read more

So happy Hayward has a dog park now, even happier that it is walking distance from my home! The larger dog area is decent sized, big enough for me to throw crazy far tennis balls with my Chuck It and not hit anyone or have the balls go over the fence. I bring my two mixed dogs here to play, it's a nice, quiet area of the neighborhood, lots of benches and grassy areas. I do notice the people here are relatively friendly and pick up after their pets. Overall a cool area to come and hang out, wish they would have made it bigger though there is still so ,much more grassy room! read more

We visited this park for the first time today as our local dog park is closed for the next couple of months. My furbaby seemed to enjoy exploring the small dog park, I found it to be okay. We visited at 8:30 am so there was absolutely nobody there, which I think is just fine with my little one as she seems to like to explore rather than play her first couple of times in a new place. There is nothing about this park that makes it really stand out above the rest but I can say that it is better than some that I have visited. It really is quite decent, it just doesn't have much personality. I can't really say that there is grass, it is green for the most part but what's there cannot be described as grass. I only visited the small dog park area (under 35 lbs area) so this review is only regarding that area of the park. The park was fairly clean with the exception of the area along the back fence. It was apparent that this was the area that dogs appear to slip their humans notice and do their business, or their humans are to busy to notice. (Please clean up after your dogs, don't be that rude person who thinks the rules don't apply to you!) I don't like my furbaby sniffing around other dogs mess so I cleaned up as much as I could find. That being said, the park does provide poopy bags and there is a sealed garbage can in the park. The small and large dog areas each have their own double gated entrance and there is also a single gate that leads from one side to the other. On the plus side, I love that this park has so many benches. There are plenty of seats to everyone. It's a decent size park, plenty of room to run around. The park also has a water fountain and doggy bowl. There are also picnic tables just outside the dog park along the path that runs along both the large dog and small dog parks. I love being able to meet up with friends for a play date with my furbaby and then being able to eat lunch together and visit the dog park. I will definitely be visiting this park again. I hope that there are some friendly doggies here the next time we visit. read more

There's a lot of pot holes and dirt. It shouldn't matter but someone or someone's dog can or will sprain an ankle. I personally like turf, since my dog is white, she gets super dirty with the dirt. I really think they should put up light posts for nocturnal goers. read more

There's a small hole of sitting water and now mud next to the water fountain area. Besides the two issues stated above, I actually like this dog park because it has natural grass and not artificial grass or only dirt like some other dog parks. The fences are low enough so that the small breed dogs don't get out, its a well constructed park. There's also more grass in this park then the other dog parks that I have visited in Hayward. I just went there and I kept hearing the power towers that are right there. Also saw a girl getting high on weed( that turned my stomach). The maintenance guy was there to clean up SO the place was def very clean. It's a bit on the driving for me to take my girls BUT I have yet, another choice. Great park!~ quiet neighborhood. I brought two of my labs there, no issues with other pittbulls. Very safe park and area. It's my regular stop for my dogs now. However, they could use more grass and more dog slides etc. like the dog park in Union City. And more of a well lit area for the evenings. read more

I take my bichon/poodle to Drigon park normally. he loves it there because the dogs are very friendly and playful there. this dog park is bigger and has the poo bags and water as well as benches but the dogs are extremely unfriendly. i have no idea why. if you have a pair of dogs maybe it would be better (safety in numbers) but my dog was actually getting bitten by a dog which incited other dogs to pick on him. i've gone there 3 times and the same thing. the park is great but the dogs are pretty mean. too bad because i live close to this park and Drigon is a bit of a trek but i know my dog will be safe and be among friendly playful pups for the most part. read more

A nice new dog park, went there on a Sunday afternoon, several dogs in both the big and small dog area. All the dogs were friendly. My two dogs had a blast. I have one for the small area and one for the large area so me and my boyfriend took each to their respective area. The ONLY reason it doesn't get five starts is I wish it had a human restroom somewhere nearby! The dogs could have stayed longer! read more

I decided to visit this park on New Years Day 2013. It was interestingly hard to find. The directions that is provided on Yelp via Google is incorrect. The location of Eden Greenway Dog Park is located at Boca Raton St and Contessa St off of Tennyson. Now, to the park. The dog park is small and quiet but nice. Divided into two sections; one for small and one for large breeds. Both sides were pretty clean with doggy poop bags provided. The only downside is that the park is small-medium (about 30-40 yards long by about 20 yards wide for the large dogs and about 20-10 for the small dogs). Dogs there were friendly. There's a lot of pot holes and grass isn't always kept up but the worst part is everytime I go there's always that one person with an overly aggressive dog and they are on the other side on their phone and I have to hold their dog back. This is a dog park. Not a place to take your kids unless they are just interested in the dogs who go here. There are benches and open space and it you have a big dog, or a dog who can go on the big dog side, there will be some shade. The small dog side only has one bench under an overhang so it can get a little warm there. There are no lights so cooler evenings or early mornings are the best time to go during summer. They have a drinking fountain for humans and there is usually a bowl for the dogs too. It's a good place to meet dogs and their owners in a very friendly open place. They only got 3 stars because the water is on always working and people will sometimes bring large dogs to the small dog side. The large dogs can have an occasional fight however owners are usually very quick to stop it. People are friendly and dogs are too. read more

I love to take my doggies here! I have 3 !! 1 Pembroke Welsh Corgi, 1 Corgi/Beagle and 1 Corgi/Chow.. They love it here and so does my hubby and two daughters. There is enough play space for the pups to run and play. There are two sections, one for the big doggies and the other for the the little doggies. We go to both, my dogs aren't afraid of the big guys and actually have fun with them. We meet lots of nice people and dogs whom are mostly regulars .. There some grass and lots of dirt but I mean it's a dog park .. What grass is going to survive in that type of environment? (doggy pee pee spewed hundreds of times a day!) There's also water fountains on both sides and good amount of benches along the perimeter of the fence and some shady spots for those HOT days .. There is also poo poo stations to pick up and dump your pups poop.. :) over all I'm glad this park is here .. Nice to take the dogs once a week to socialize and exercise and just have fun! read more

So I took my little wheaten terrier puppy there today. Was very nice was a little weeded which sucks because he is a wheaten and has hair and the fox tails stick to him. But there was water and enough room. The park is separated by big dogs (32 pounds and greater) and small dogs (32 pounds and smaller) which I never really like because the dogs usually bark between the fence and show signs of aggression. This park is located near my house which is a plus. My small dog loves this park! There is grass and friendly dogs which is my top criteria for my little one. People are friendly and clean up after there pups. There isn't much to the park but all my doggy wants is a place to run and a safe environment to socialize. I've been to other parks in the area that are nicer but the dogs are questionable and the owners do not pick up after their animals. We have been going here for over a year and my pup enjoys himself every time. read more

I'm actually torn in writing this because I'm thrilled we have a dog park in our neighborhood....I just wish it wasn't in such bad shape. Overall, it's a nice park. 2 separate areas for big/small dogs, plenty of benches and lots of room for the dogs to run. Most of the dogs and owners are nice. there's plenty of parking and the bag dispenser is always filled. The problem is it's more dirt than grass and there are gopher holes everywhere.
