I brought my two dogs to this dog park (large dog area) and was pleasantly surprised. It was extremely spacious and pretty clean. I'd say there was limited seating relative to the size of the space, but I did a lot of walking around rather than sitting anyway. There's also not a lot of shade so if it's a particularly sunny and hot day, it may not be a good place to go. I liked that this park was flat and provided a couple of water fountains, a small dog agility area, several trash cans and different entrance/exits. I would come back! read more

Came here over the weekend for a sammy meet up! We arrived at 10am on Sunday. There were about a dozen or so dogs already there. But it quickly got filled up! The large dog area is huge! More than enough space to accommodate all the dogs and their owners. Several water stations around the park. My only gripe is that shade is sparse. If I came back during summer, I'd definitely want to come here at 8am or so. It was my first time taking our pup to a dog park since I've read many horror stories. I'm glad there were no unfortunate incidents today though. Owners seemed really attentive to what their dogs were doing, and only one out of the many dogs there seemed to be somewhat aggressive. It was nice seeing all the dogs sniffing and playing with each other. So much space to run and pee! The astroturf is definitely a plus. Just wish we were closer! read more

This dog park is very spacious! I like that there's a decent amount of seating and benches. The community in this area are very friendly, so it's easy for doggy parents to chat while the dogs play too. Definitely be prepared to share your dog toys though! FUN FACT: This dog park is also right next to a couple basketball courts and walking trails. There's two areas: + Large dog area: Fake grass that smells like dog pee honestly... but this space is HUGE and gives your pup lots of open space to run around, mingle, and play fetch! + Small dog area: Lots of (dead) grass and sidewalks for your pups to run around in. Placed perfectly in view of the lake! The turf is great for when it's more on the wet side - usually I'd go to Newark but even a morning dew will make it muddy there. THE GOOD - Plenty of dogs to play with. Never seen less than 5 - Most people have been friendly from my interactions - The turf, as mentioned - scenary - park and library close by for my kids THE BAD - No bags for poop, only scoops. Not my preference. THE UGLY - Because of the turf and lazy owners, there are poop smears and piles everywhere. - - even after the hard rain, none seemed to have washed away... One of my favorite dog parks in the Bay Area. This location is clean, has a small obstacle course, shade for owners to stand, and especially responsible dog owners. Everyone was welcoming and paid attention to their dog. It did get pretty crowded around 5 which is to be expected. We went for a nice walk around Lake Elizabeth too. This is a great huge dog park located near Lake Elizabeth. They have a small dog area which is grass/dirt with a paved side walk, and they have a large dog area which is artificial turf. It's great for rainy days but also kinda gross if a dog does their business. They also have an obstacle course in the big dog area as well as a bench. Small dog area has covered seating. There's always a lot of people at this park esp after work hours. They close pretty late, but lights will shut off after 10pm. read more

Love this dog park. There is a small and big dog park but I've only been on the big dog side. There is a small obstacle course and two water stations on opposite sides of the park. My only problem is that it's turf so sometimes there is smeared poop and it's dirty. I don't think they do monthly cleanings. There is a good amount of trash cans around the park (most of them with lids). They also used to have a rake and pooper scooper but since COVID it got taken out. The park provides poopy bags. WARNING: I have seen aggressive dogs at this park and have heard of some attacks happening from other dog owners but thankfully have never witnessed or experienced one. So go at your own risk. Parking is easy because it's a huge lot but it's also next to the police station and animal shelter. There's also basketball courts in the same vicinity. If the park ever gets too busy, I suggest a walk around Lake Elizabeth (which is behind the dog park. Be careful of geese poop everywhere though). There is two entrances to the park, a shaded area with benches (perfect during the summer) and one other bench. read more

Nice dog park tucked away on the North-West side of Lake Elizabeth right near the basketball courts. There is a small dog section and a big dog section. The big dog section is probably 10x bigger than the small dog section and is artificial turf, whereas the small dog section is real grass. I have a little chihuahua, so I spent time in the small dog section. Came on a Saturday morning around 9 am and there were maybe 10 other dogs there. Everyone seemed really nice and friendly. No crazy dogs. I am not sure if there are rules that constitute what is a "small" dog because there were definitely some medium to big dogs hanging in the small dog section FYI. There are a few benches under shade and a water fountain for the dogs. Plenty of parking right in front of the dog park. Overall a pretty nice and well-maintained dog park and wouldn't hesitate to bring my dog back here! read more

Came on Sunday, December 5, 2021 around 10:30am to the big dog side. My dog was having fun saying hello to people and other dogs. A medium sized pit bull came in and my dog and that dog sniffed each other. The pit bull started to come towards me and I bent down to pet it. My dog barked at the pit bull and that pit bull started to get aggressive. I stood up and immediately blocked it as it lunged at my dog. The dog bit my arm and the owner grabbed his dog. Luckily, I was wearing three layers, but my forearm immediately was bruised, raised and stung. I was shocked what happened and what could have happened. My husband grabbed my dog who luckily was not bitten and we left to take a walk. The owner of the pit bull stayed at the park. If you know you're dog is dog aggressive, why bring it to the park? If I wasn't wearing layers or didn't block that dog, this could have easily been a worse incident. Since this is the second time I've had issues at this park I will no longer be going to this park. One of the only dog parks in Fremont that is so large; my dog and I have gone to Drigon (Union City), Foster City dog park, as well as some other dog parks around the bay area. I love Lake Elizabeth / Central Park and all the amenities (lake, aqua park, softball/baseball fields, basketball courts, police station, library, tennis courts etc). There are multiple parking lot options that are shared by the dog park and softball/baseball fields, so there is always ample parking no matter what day/time. We come to this dog park at least 3-4 times a week, and have never had a problem with parking. What I love about this dog park: there are 2 sides, one for smaller dogs and the other for larger dogs. Your dogs are allowed off leash and there are shovels/rakes to help you pick up after your dog, as well as multiple trash bins so you can get rid of your dog's doo doo. There are also many benches for humans to sit on while your dogs play. The small dog side is a lot smaller than that large dog side, and only allow dogs up to a certain size. My corgi is almost too big for the small side, but since he's short it's okay. Small dogs are allowed on the larger dog side, though, as long as your dog is not afraid of the larger dogs! :) I love taking my dog here to socialize - we always meet other dog lovers and have great chats. Once in a while there are some dog brawls, but as long as the owners take care of their dogs and are attentive to their dog's playing, everything is usually fine. We've come at night a couple times (8PM) when it's dark, and the park is still well-lit enough for the dogs to play. There are stadium lights that pour over from the basketball courts and softball/baseball fields. The only downside is that sometimes it's not bright enough for me to see what my dog is sniffing - much more of a personal preference though, I just like to make sure my dog isn't eating other dog poop. He LOVES eating other dog poop, and sometimes dog owners don't pick up after their dogs or they just don't notice when their dog has gone poop. Larger dog side is turf, smaller dog side is real grass. There are pros and cons to each of these: pros of turf is that if your dog has grass allergies (like mine kind of does), turf is much better. Cons of turf, however, are that all pee and poop kind of stick in the turf forever. My dog loves finding old poop/pee smells and rolling in them. It's gross haha. Real grass on the small side is nice and there is some shade provided by the canopy area and trees. Larger side does not have much shade. If you're a corgi in the area and come to this dog park, come on Thursday night's around 6 PM! We have corgi meet ups : )! read more

My dog loves it here! This is definitely one of the bigger dog parks I have been to. There is a separate area for big and small dogs as well. It's right by Lake Elizabeth, so you can take a stroll there after as well. I have seen that the owners are very attentive at this park as well, so that is good to see. My dog loves to run around in this park and play with the other pups. Since it's so big, there's plenty of room to roam. One of my favorite dog parks around. read more

A wide open space for dogs to run and play complete with AstroTurf (especially great on damp sprinkling days), scoops and garbage cans for pet waste, water fountain for pups and last but not least- two double gated entrances for piece of mind when a person forgets to close one- your dog won't escape by mistake! There are two parks here, one for small dogs and another for larger dogs. There's a "you must be this short to enter" sign on the small dog side. If you're entering from the side with the basketball courts, the large dog park entrance is on that same side. The entrance to the small dog park is on the other side of the basketball courts. LARGE DOG PARK: This side has astroturf, lots of benches, and training ramps. Small dogs are allowed, at owner's discretion. It's big! Large enough for a big dog to do laps. Sadly, there's also a lot of poop everywhere. When you bring your dog to a community park, you should treat it like your own home. Your dog can't pick up after themselves, so please do the courteous thing and clean it up for them. Wouldn't you hate for your dog to step in someone else's poop? SMALL DOG PARK: A few benches but no training ramps here. The bonus is that there's real grass. I imagine it gets messy on rainy days. I went on a weekday evening, and I thought all the dogs were very friendly. Most owners keep an eye on their dog, and I really like that everyone starts to get to know everyone else. read more

LOCATION: Near a police station adjacent to Lake Elizabeth. When you walk the trail around Lake Elizabeth you can veer off and walk to this dog park. There's also a parking lot of its own. PARK: Astro turf fake grass = stinky. Pros and cons of fake grass is you don't have to worry about mud when it rains, but yet it stinks because poop and pee residue is stuck on top (not sure how well the drainage system is under the fake grass). Makes me feel gross walking around knowing that excrement is probably stuck on the bottom of my shoes. Somehow when it's real grass I feel like the dirt and grass absorb it so less gets on the bottom of my shoes. But then again fake grass it's easier to see poop versus grass and dirt is harder to see. Big dog and small dog separation. Although I still see little dogs in the big area, which from some people it's bad etiquette because some big dogs have a high prey drive including small dogs. My dog is okay with small dogs, but I have seen where a small dog might be barking at a big dog and it starts a fight then starting a chain reaction with the dogs around. SEATING/ETC: There are two covered seating areas, which is really nice in the big dog area. There are a few agility equipment such as a tunnel and A-frame ladder. Two gate entrances to the big dog area are double fenced to prevent escapes. WATER: Two water fountain areas. I like that there is a lower bowl and two top fountains for humans or for dogs like mine who can stand up to human height. I wish they had a better drainage system near the fountains because this area gets very wet and mushy. TRASH: Pooper scoopers are super gross, but what do you expect it's a pooper scooper haha. I would prefer to bring my own plastic bags rather than use the scoopers, but that's just me. OVERALL: 3 stars for A-Ok, I'm not in love with this dog park, but I don't hate it either. We only come here when there is a husky meet up. read more

People need dogs - I just saw this magazine while in line at Safeway - and this was the premise. All the things they do for us - including sniffing out cancer before it is diagnosed formally by a physician. I recently lost a friend to liver cancer because it wasn't diagnosed in time and I couldn't help but think if only it was caught sooner.... So maybe you've got a dog named Baby Wrinkles or Little Sweets that is sitting at home waiting for an outing... well, guess what? They would love to come visit this park and socialize with others of their own kind. A beautifully maintained park overlooking Lake Elizabeth and next to the police department gas station, jail and animal shelter. Lots of parking and your pups will approve. For all that our dogs do for us the least we can do is take them out and let them sniff a variety of places. They love that. read more

I wish I can give this dog park a 5 star rating but here are my reasons: 1-DIRTY, I've been to several dog parks in the Bay Area and I have to say Fremont needs to take care of the park. Leaves, poop, debris just all over the turf. Such a nice park and yet dirty. I even stepped on poop since some owners don't clean up after their precious ones... 2-WATER, from what I've heard some dogs there cough (Husky..) tends to pee in the water dispenser. Not sure how to resolve this but if you are the owner of the dog please TEACH them not to pee in the water dispenser. 3-SIZE, the size of park is fabulous but I think it's also one of the reason why the park is so dirty. Maybe put a fence in between to provide two separate spaces for the dogs. This way owners have better sight if your dog have an accident anywhere in the park. Several folks there including me were picking up other dog poop... Please FREMONT, do something otherwise this beautiful dog park will go down hill... read more

WONDERFUL dog park! I've been coming here with my pup for nearly 2 years now. Great people, great dogs. Only complain I have is all the new dog owners who don't understand dog play...Had a young asian woman yell/swear at me because my dog ran up to her dog (beautiful golden pup) while walking in the middle of the big side of the dog park...her dog was on a leash and she had just finished screaming at the poor thing, I heard it from the other side of the big dog park! Leash aggression is a thing. Please keep this in mind. PLEASE. NO leashed dogs inside the dog park! And if you end up having to leash your dog due to recall issues, don't complain when your dog freaks out at other dogs coming up to it while on a leash. There's a sign about this right next to 2 of the entrances to the big dog park. And there's no need to yell at your dog at the top of your lungs for everyone to hear... Aside from a few mishaps (which are nearly ALWAYS due to inexperienced/uneducated dog owners), I highly recommend to this park to all of my fellow dog lovers. read more

The big dog side has what looks like felt, like carpet. There were also three obstacles on the big dog side. Dog fountains available. Pet parents seemed responsible and watched their dogs. Undecided at the moment but, can't say this is one of my favorites. There's real grass in the small dog area and Astro turf in the large dog area. Large dogs have a little obstacle area but, I guess Blitz will visit that at another time. In the meantime, this is only for the small dog area. It's pretty small in comparison to the large dog area but, average to other dog parks. The grass area is surrounded with a cement walkway and yea, I'd be kind of sketch to walk into the grass anyway. It doesn't look too well kept and after watching a few other owners, doesn't look like they're pro active or, at the least attentive of their own dogs. Another owner had to point out to another owner that the was taking a . On the bright side, there is a scooper as well as shovel available for a quick pick up. We Live in Union City so our Park is either closed on Mondays or Rained Out and to open it has to completely Dry A few days, so this is Are New Favorite Dog Park & Destiny Loves it here We bring our own water bowl now due illness of other dogs but Glad she has all her shots and can still come & Play Everyone is always Nice. We love this dog park. We found it when we moved to the area and have enjoyed many days here. Our dog Suki is a small female Boston Terrier and she tends to be pretty shy so I love that they divide the small dogs from the big days. Some days she feels like a thug and is ready for the big dog side but some days she is not feelin it and wants to chill with the other little nuggets. Everyone is friendly and they all seem to pick up after their dogs. There is a local vet right across the parking lot and they offer cheap shots twice a month. We will definitely keep coming here! read more
