I was so excited to find this place on a random Saturday adventure out of Montreal! For me the dark beer was ok (I've had more interesting ones) but my boyfriend really enjoyed it! As did he like his fresh white beer! We had the rustic burger with fries and it was DELICIOUS! Not spicy (as was listed) but soooo good. (And HUGE!!) And the French fries?! Gah! So good!! Great ambience, great modern décor, excellent food and lovely locally crafted beer. The beer is from the West Shefford brewery and I really like it. I had the sampling flight of three. I actually really liked the "rousse". The dark was also intriguing with hints of chocolate and coffee. They offer beer based cocktails (European style) as well. The food we had was amazing. The braised beef is cooked in the red beer and is flavourful and tender. My daughter's spaghetti was yummy too. The menu was a mix of pub and full dinner meal options. The server was very nice and attentive. We recommend this place for a family dinner or gathering of friends for some good food while sampling some very good beer. read more

After reading reviews of this place I definitely wasn't sure about it. However, we had a great time and excellent service. Came with a group of 10 and our server was still awesome and made sure we got everything we needed including beer top ups and water refills. Hubs and I had the duck poutine (huge portion) but super tender and delicious. Also had the goat cheese and mushroom app - it was super flavorful and delicious. Our server recommended it and we were not disappointed. Also had the beef tartare which was delicious. Other dishes at the table included the club sandwich, Caesar salad, spaghetti, burgers etc. everyone's food looked and tasted great, and I even ordered the carrot cake dessert to go. Carrot cake was awesome but whatever purée of raw carrots or something watery underneath could go. Loved the use of fresh carrot but the purée was too much. Overall though it was an excellent slice of cake. The place has lots of different seating from low tables, bar tables with high tops to outdoor patio seating. Speakers on every wall and while it did get a little loud for our little one, overall it was still a great place to go. They so have a happy hour that we just missed, but beer is cheaper. Great beer selection - something for everyone. Extensive menu with different types of food. Cute interior and everything was clean and organized. Great place to stop if you are in the area and want to try some local brews and good food! read more

Ok - so this wildly popular restaurant is not my favorite. I was there with a group. The place was packed. Between the music, the crowd, and the acoustics, it was hard to have a conversation until the crowd thinned out. The food was good. (I had one of the burgers, excellent!) The server was surly. The décor was perfect: it really is a beautiful space. Would I return? Probably not. This is a personal choice, not a criticism of the restaurant. This restaurant is not a good match for my personality and what I want out of a restaurant experience. Would I recommend: This is a perfectly good place to eat, so yes, I probably would send someone there, if I thought they would enjoy the atmosphere that this place offers. read more

The braised beef melted in your mouth, didn't even need a knife, however lacked a bit of taste. It came with a side of puréed carrots and mushrooms. Over all I give it a 4. Great atmosphere, good service!!! read more

This is probably the most difficult restaurant to make a reservation. I called about 2 weeks ago to make a reservation, but didn't receive an email and phone call, which meant according to them the reservation was not confirmed. When did this become a rule? When I confronted the hostess, she shifted the blame on us that we didn't confirm ahead... Looks like Edgar has their own rules, not sure about what rule they follow in the kitchen?!! read more

Surprised no one had a review of this great place!! specially that their bar in Montreal is quite popular!! so stopped there after a nice day of skiing at Bromont. it's a resto/pub, they make their own beer plus have popular brands on tap too i was a bit disappointed with the red ale they make (thought it would be more bitter, but it had a maple finale that did not please me. the blonde ale was very good though) the menu offers a variety of great classic choices: calamari, wings, poppers, tartare, burgers, mussels, fish-n-chips, etc good ol pub food!! we went classic with the burger wich was very tasty (double patty, melted cheese, bacon... ahhh bacon!) served with a load of french fries that were perfect too! You want to experience a proper supperclub vibe? Then make sure you come on Fridays and Saturdays evenings. The resident DJ's are really something to get you unique! Great atmosphere! got pushed into a corner because we didn't have a reservation. My food was ok, no English menus, so I thought that the salmon salad had a fillet of salmon on it, nope, smoked salmon. Very disappointed but ordered an extra $9 CD fillet that was very good. I love the feeling this place has when you walk in the door. Wood everything and super lodgey looking it would be a great place to hang out with friends. Our waiter, however, ruined all these good feelings about the place. After waiting at the table for a good 15 minutes he finally showed up and asked us for our drink orders before even giving us menus, then made us wait for the menus while he made the drinks. When he came back with the drinks and menus he gave us 5 minutes to decide our orders, which obviously wasn't enough because it was our first time there. He then came back about 20 Minutes later to take our order, the worst part was that we believed we were his only table so it wasn't like he was rushing from table to table. After about 45 minutes of waiting for our food and watching other tables get served who had arrived after us, the bartender walked into the kitchen to get our food and bring us our plates, while our waiter was playing on his phone in the corner... We were not impressed. The food was good but we were in a terrible mood from waiting for so long. The bartender, however, was extremely friendly and we wished we had chosen to sit by the bar. The kicker was when I gave the waiter money to pay for my bill and asked for my change, he replied with "how much would you like back?" I was so taken aback by this question and amazed how someone could assume that he would get a good tip after his miserable performance and I'm a waitress myself. Called two weeks in advance to book a reservation for New Year's Eve. When I called to inquire about the menu the employee told me there was no reservation made and began to shift the blame on me. She was very rude and unapologetic. Atrocious lack of respect to customers. Absolutely unacceptable. Confirm multiple times before booking with them, they will sweep you under the rug. As good as it gets. If you love good food and handcrafted, micro-brewery beers you MUST eat here. Close to the mountain, on the main mountain road. Very busy Thursday-Sun, reservations are a must. The Caesar salad (which was $3 extra) was the lowlight: no bacon, barely any dressing, and the romaine lettuce was browning. Tried 3 West Shefford beers. The ambience and decor of this place was through the roof! I would go back just for that! I started off with their crispy Caesar, it's called that because it comes with bacon. It was very good. Then I ordered the fajitas wrap. It was good, not amazing. It could of used more flavours and pizzaz. My friend had the tartar and said it was great. She also had the chocolate cake and that was AMAZING!!!! I had the brownie, it was good but not as good as the cake. The service was excellent. All in all I'd go back. I'd order a burger though because they looked amazing. read more
