Met a client for breakfast. This place is a local chain with lots of Auburn and Bama stuff. Had a great breakfast consisting of Southwestern Omelet, Potatoes, Rye Toast and Bacon. Enjoyed breakfast! For those folks who complained in their reviews about the nutritional issues - bakery = butter sugar etc. just saying... Husband'a veggie quiche was delish (note that we realize quiche in any format is not overly healthy, even with veggies). I had the all American breakfast and everything was cooked exactly as ordered. We bought a couple of pastries for takeaway too. I didn't give that last star for a series of small things- the dining room had so many tables in it you really couldn't move, cleaning off of tables took too long, napkins no where to be found, slow ordering process etc. but all in all, we will return. read more

Lovely and worth the trip! Beware, they close at 6:00pm. Amazing chicken salad croisant, baked potato salad, and red velvet petit four. I usually get dinner here nightly when on business and staying at the Hampton across the street. This week, I was in Trussville and drive 42 miles out of my way to get my Edgar's fix. In town on business. This place is right across from my hotel and yelp reviews were relatively good, so gave it a shot. I had a spinach and feta croissant which was good not great. It was more bread than spinach and feta, not that I'm complaining. The variety of bakery items from biscuits, croissants, pastries and cupcakes is amazing. I will try this place again on this trip. I can't believe I never went before. I visited for the first time last weekend. The eggs Benedict were delicious. My fiancé ordered pancakes and they came with a sweet vanilla sauce that was super good. The server said that most people don't even use syrup just the sauce. The pancakes were also super tasty just by themselves because of their buttermilk-y goodness. Recommend! read more

I got a cake for my son's birthday. The day of his birthday, the cake was dry and the butter cream icing was wwaaayyyy too sweet. The decoration on the cake was OK, but not what i wanted it to look like. For a cake costing 75.00 you would think you wouldn't have to worry about how it tastes and looks. They used a neon green, when my colors were dark green and light green. It has been couple days since the birthday, and the cake has become moist, probably soaking up moisture from the inch of super sweet icing they put on the outside. I could have done a better job of making a cake for much less. Horrible job, Edgars. Very disappointed. I've heard nothing but good things about them, but my experience did not go well. Everything always looks better than it tastes. It's not bad, it's just that if is not mouth watering. Staff is friendly but after lunch the place is a mess. They need more staff to keep the tables clean. We couldn't find an empty table that didn't have dishes or food left on it. read more

I want to start by stating that Edgar's is one of my favorite bakery's and almost always delivers to my expectations. This particular time I've visited this location, their employee Victoria has had an unnecessarily nasty attitude. Not only did she roll her eyes at me for asking for help but also tossed my receipt on the counter in stead of handing it to me and had the audacity to toss the baked goods as well. I usually wouldn't put a name with the review, but I want to warn any one else who deals with this employee and her nasty attitude that this is not her first time. Please check who you hire to work at your establishment. She was the only one working so I was unable to speak to a manager. I do not think that she meets the standards that the rest of Edgar's employee do. read more

This place deserves NO stars! My FIRST time going to Edgar's in Patton Creek will of course be my last! I walk up to the door and an employee locks the door in my face! It wasn't even time for them to close yet...a couple more minutes or so, but come on! I work in retail too and we never do that to CUSTOMERS even if it's right at the time we're supposed to close. What a warm way to welcome someone new not only to the bakery but also this state! I've never been to an Edgar's before. Very few times in my life has a restaurant so expertly FAILED at customer service. Not only did I wait for forty minutes to get a sausage biscuit the staff was so rude every time I inquired about my meal; I kept hearing, we don't know where it is and just wait a minute and well we have to cook lady. I was then rudely tossed my bag as they said oh sorry..... Never have I ever been so annoyed with a restaurant. I will make sure that everyone I know hears about this. EVERYONE! We stayed in a hotel nearby and decided to stop for breakfast at Edgar's. The store area is adorable and fun to browse while waiting. The case of treats and baked goods is hard to resist. We got the breakfast ham, egg and cheese croissant and it is something I would go back for. We also got an orange roll and the ham and cheese croissant from the bakery case and they hit the spot. Every time I go into this place it is extremely busy. Which is not a bad experience. The bad experience is when there is only two workers that can actually help people. The manager will stand around on her phone or sit in the corner eating her lunch while these workers struggle to attack the line. I run my own business and I can say that the manager who runs this place does not care about her employees. read more

The interior is very simple and it's actually really cozy inside :). V and I usually order ice cream and then sit in his heated car to eat it, but I wanted to stay and eat there because it was so cozy. And that was a great choice because they serve their ice cream in the store in a chilled bowl so I can savor it. read more

I left a review on the Patton Creek location December 5 and said I was not going back there for the 3 time of bad products. Today @ 10 am I stopped here to get cinnamon rolls and orange rolls as presents to my doctor's office. The warm rolls thin and just a few. Two people in line to order and pay . I decided to pick up two tins of the ready to go orange rolls because they were big and pretty like they all used to be . I went to pay. I couldn't pay at cake pick up so I went back to the order pay line. Same two people waiting. The ONE woman behind the counter was slamming things and literally stomping around making a coffee order. I committed that she was pissed. Having spent over 15 mins with the same two people in front of me and now several behind I put the rolls up and left. I am really upset with Edgar's because I have always bought so much from them and now I don't know if I'll go back. read more

I will never go there again. The staff in the deli are rude and the food was lukewarm and terrible. I ordered cheese grits and there version of it was to put a few shreds of cheese on top of slightly warm grits. The bacon was as tough as beef jerkey. read more

The bakery is breathtakingly beautiful and the displays and cases are packed with delicious looking baked goods. We ordered coffee and danishes and had such high expectations! The danish was cold and tasted 3 days old. It was incredibly stale. If I worked there and knew the product was old, i would at least offer to heat it in the microwave.
