The hotel is nice. It has a lot of options similar to a resort. It had a very nice pool area. The restaurant, Jimmy's on the Edge, was convenient. The chips and dip were good. The bar area was nice. They have fantastic bartenders. The frozen drinks were so good. They have mini cars and golf cart rentals. The parking lot seems safe. The downside of the hotel was the long wait for the elevators. It seems one was broken. The beds were comfortable. The showers were nice.

    City view from balcony.

If you book through a third party they will charge you an extra $38.00 per night at the hotel upon arrival as an "amenities fee." It is a non-negotiable hidden surprise fee. That being said it a nicer hotel. It is walking distance from Pier 60 and centrally located. Maintenance seems a bit lax: broken bathroom vet, slow/ questionable internet driven smart tv. Good views from balcony.

Evacuation in the middle of the night, hotel with no power

I never write reviews, and I want to be clear I do not blame the staff about what happened. We had a fine time until the last night. Good location, cool pool, the room needs some improvement. However, the AC is placed directly next to the bed, so anyone sleeping on that side gets the AC directly to their face. Our last night, the hotel (and block) lost power for several hours. During the blackout, the hotel kitchen developed smoke and set off the fire alarm at 12am. We were evacuated with my 8month pregnant wife walking down 9 flights of steps. After sitting outside in the heat for 30 minutes, we were allowed to go back into the still powerless hotel. We all squeezed in shifts onto the emergency powered elevator back to our dark rooms. Within the next hour, the lights came back on. I ask the front desk the next morning if we could get anything at all in compensation for that hellish night. We were told they could not do anything for us. We didn't even receive an apology. The management could have given us literally anything for at least making us evacuate due to issues going on in there kitchen in the middle of the night. Not even mentioning the hours of lost power. Obviously we are upset with the lack of caring. Unprofessional and disgusting practice.

I couldn't say enough about this hotel from checking in to checking out. Our room was beautiful clean and kept very well. Quiet nights and slept great every night. Enjoyed the rooftop bar and the views. We watched dolphin's from our balcony. It's only a short walk to a beautiful white sand beach that looks and feels like flour, so soft. Plenty of shopping and restaurants all within walking distance. Can't wait to go back. Thank you Edge Hotel

The hotel is mediocre. The location to the beach is great. While it's not beach front, it's just a short walk that isn't bad at all. The staff members my family interacted with were pretty friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We stayed in a 2 queen room which was spacious, but the furniture seemed pretty worn and ready for an update. We found the beds to be slightly too soft and unsupportive. When booking a place to stay, we tend to prioritize a good breakfast bar and much like the hotel itself, we found this breakfast bar to be mediocre. The yogurts were barely chilled, the fresh fruit didn't look appealing, the juice options were extremely watered down and it was carb heavy. The only protein option was hard boiled eggs that weren't great. I was hoping for some scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon and some hash browns but those staple breakfast items were missing. This wouldn't be my first choice to stay at again, but if it were the right price and there were limited options I'd consider it.

Amazing hotel with breathtaking views!!! I switched to this hotel mid vacation because my hotel I started at was too noisy. I'm very pleased with the customer service. I stayed in a suite and holy crap is it beautiful. Definitely deserves 5 stars! Update: Loved this hotel, highly recommend to people of all ages, families too. Great food at Jimmy's, amazing drinks, great staff. Will definitely be coming back :)

We were in the area and decided to stay the night, so we stopped here and they had plenty of rooms available. The host at the desk wasn't the most friendliest person I've ever met, but it didn't stop us from staying. We asked for a wake up call for the next morning but never received one, thank goodness we didn't have to catch a flight. The hotel is in a great location with so much fun only steps away from the door. Plenty of restaurants, stores, bike rentals, scooters and bars. We loved this location and would definitely stay here again. Parking is easy and in a multi story garage. The bartender at the pool, Jordan, is awesome ! Great sense of humor, awesome vibe and great drinks. The pool is nice, overlooking the water and the sunset was an added touch. Our room was spacious, comfortable bed and a balcony to see the sunrise. The restaurant/ bar on the rooftop was fun and even when a storm came through they kept business as usual. The food was okay, but we also just snacked and had drinks. They do have a complimentary breakfast starting at 7am but we opted to head out and enjoy breakfast on the water. Enjoy!

I stayed at the Edge per usual ! This time I had a the most amazing bartender at the pool . Bobby went above and beyond out of his way. He made the most amazing drinks I have EVER had . I told him that I had a gluten allergy , which most people get annoyed with or don't understand . He looked up any ingredient going into my drink to verify it was gluten free .

Do they have a monthly or weekly rate? I'm transitioning and need a reasonable place to stay while I get set up.

Do all rooms have a balcony?

most face the pool, some face the gulf.

Is it clean? Also can I walk to the beach?

It was VERY clean and it's about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach! Great location in my opinion.

How far is this hotel from the beach? Is it walking distance?

It's a block away. Edge hotel is not on the beach, but is very conveniently located on the strip.

We were on floor 16 which is the top floor. At first, I was worried I would be afraid going on the balcony because of how high it is, but it doesn't feel terribly high. I actually recommend asking for a higher floor because that's where the best views of the beach are. We only went to the Opal sol pool this time instead of Opal Sands. They have two pools, which is great because one felt like an adult pool whereas the other one felt like a children pool even though there was no designation. It made me feel better about my two children splashing about. There is also a pool by the Spa that I think adults should escape to if they want to get away from children. The one downside of the pool is they don't have many servers walking around taking orders. I ended up walking up to the bar to put in a food and drink order because the only server was on the far side of the pool the entire time. I tried berries and bubbles and a strawberry Mo-to-to, both were fantastic. We learned we do not like the chips and salsa. My older son did and liked the queso, but nobody else in the family did. We also love the hot tub and you can turn on jets if you want. Even though it doesn't feel like they have a ton of seating, we never had a hard time finding a seat, so people do a good job cleaning up after themselves if they leave their seats. They also have tons of towels, I never thought I would appreciate this so much until we were at another hotel that limited guests to four at a time, so I appreciate that you can take towels to the beach and then come back and grab new towels. The rooms are beautiful. They feel spacious and everything is still pretty new since it was built at the beginning of 2025. All rooms look at the beach, so it is nice sitting on the balcony and looking out at the water. One random criticism is that they don't have any non-caffeinated tea, all their tea has caffeine in it that they offer in the room. Room service is very quick. We got chicken tenders and fries and grilled chicken and fries. I tried the Ahi tuna starter and loved it. My younger son loved his grilled chicken and older son ate the fries. Even though the hotel isn't right on the beach, it is literally across the street from the beach so super convenient to get to. Clearwater beach is beautiful. It has powdery white sand, and there are ample amounts of chairs that you can purchase to sit on. They only have valet so the one downside is it takes a while to get your car, but if most of your vacation is on the beach, you won't need your car anyway. I also appreciate that they have snacks that they put out at 8 AM. They also apparently have cookies at 3 PM, but we totally missed seeing that. I forgot to bring the kids snacks so this was a lifesaver when the kids grabbed granola bars for breakfast. They also have Board games on every floor, which I think is a nice touch. I always enjoy our stay here. I would recommend.

The hotel itself is beautiful and centrally located on Clearwater Beach with just a short walk across the street to the beach. We booked two suites , a 2 queen private rooftop terrace suite with a full kitchen and a poolside king suite with a kitchenette which were spacious and perfect for our large gathering. The rooftop terrace was definitely a highlight, and the hotel is within walking distance to restaurants, the pier, playgrounds, and shops. I also liked that the pool is on the 8th floor with a great view and access limited to hotel guests only. Pool chairs were very comfortable, towels were unlimited with no towel card system, and beach cabana/umbrella rentals were half off for guests. The hot tub being on the 16th floor separate from the pool didn't make much sense though. Room service was daily, and I appreciated being able to text the front desk instead of calling. I highly recommend using the text feature and keeping everything in writing because there were discrepancies regarding credits we were promised. There were unfortunately several maintenance and service issues during our stay. The living room TV constantly glitched and wouldn't sync properly even after maintenance attempted to fix it. More importantly, the AC completely stopped working in the rooftop terrace suite for hours while we hosted about 25 guests for the graduation party. Everyone was hot and sweaty in almost 100-degree indoor conditions. Thankfully the terrace breeze helped, but being offered only a $100 credit for such a major issue during a once-in-a-lifetime celebration felt insufficient! The parking garage situation was also frustrating. We were told our vehicles could enter and exit freely with the resort fee, but every time we tried leaving, the room keys and garage passes failed. We repeatedly went back to front desk to get new passes and had to pay $40 to exit then contact customer service afterward for refunds such a waste of vacation time Customer service overall was very hit or miss. Some employees were wonderful while others seemed miserable and unfriendly. The onsite coffee shop was particularly disappointing I'd recommend walking across the street from The front lobby to the real Starbucks instead. At times it felt like the hotel relies heavily on its excellent location and beach proximity rather than consistent service standards.Coming from previous stays at Sandpearl Resort, I personally would still choose Sandpearl for smaller family vacations. However, I will say this hotel offers more flexibility for large gatherings and easier garage access compared to Sandpearl's valet-only setup. That said, between the AC outage, power issues in BOTH suites floor 8 and 17, lukewarm water, TV problems, phone problems, garage charges, and inconsistent customer service, I would probably try another Clearwater Beach hotel next time. We still made wonderful graduation memories and the location, spacious suites, rooftop terrace, and beach convenience were definitely the highlights of our stay.

And not one spider or bug on that balcony the whole week we were there! Five stars just for that! All staff were very friendly, in fact I believe it was a manager that bought me and my husband drinks after we walked down 15 flights of stairs during a fire alarm. (I swear nobody else even heeded the alarm, we were the only one in the stairwell). We only ate breakfast in the main restaurant (which was good), but we did have room service a couple of times and enjoyed the rooftop bar, The Tropico, for food and drinks. (The kids menu burgers and fries was plenty for me!) All were good experiences. Hotel is in walking distance of so many restaurants, shops and of course, the pier. We only hung out on the beach one day with the loungers and cabana. I was a little disappointed that they weren't included in the stay. The cost was $30 per day. Otherwise I was content to hang out on the loungers at the pool. A store called Surf Style is just a couple of doors down that has besides clothing, your snacks, drinks and all the tourist goodies.

The front desk experience, however, fell well short of that standard. Before arrival, the resort offered pre-arrival text communication. I requested a top-floor room and received vague, unhelpful responses. On arrival day I was told the room might be ready early, but when I asked to be notified by text so we could time our drive, I was told guests must be physically present for updates -- which defeats the purpose of pre-arrival texting entirely. The top-floor request was denied at check-in; the room had already been assigned with no attempt to honor the request. Midway through our stay I discovered I had booked two nights instead of three and asked to extend. I was told our suite type was unavailable and we'd have to accept a room without a Gulf view. The morning of checkout I checked the hotel's own website and found our exact suite type listed as available that night. When I pointed this out, the explanation was that an incoming guest would simply be relocated or upgraded. That same consideration was not extended to us -- on our 37th wedding anniversary. When management responded to my initial rating and asked to have someone reach out, I replied that I would welcome that, but only if they actually reviewed the communication failures and committed to addressing them. I have no interest in apologies or compensatory offers. I want assurance that someone in leadership will look at how the front desk operates. No one from management ever followed up. The property has genuine strengths. That makes the front desk failures more frustrating, not less. A better-run operation would have kept us another night. Instead we left with a poor impression of an otherwise fine hotel.

There was just too many things that left us disappointed on our first trip here. There are 2 EV charging spots which was a lifesaver this trip and being a trolley stop was absolutely amazing for getting over the bridge into Clearwater Beach stress free. We saw pictures of a tennis and pickleball court online but those have been demolished and replaced by a grassy area :(. Thankfully sand bay tennis park is less than a mile away and the trolley does stop there. 3 volleyball courts which were great and sunsets 10/10! The Easter Egg hunt was a fun and unexpected treat for the kids :) well organized. I checked in early on the app, knowing it was a holiday weekend and there may not be rooms available early. We were able to pick up wristbands right away but we later found out these were not watched or enforced anywhere. In fact, you do not even need a key to enter the building from the pool/beach. I believe this added to the insane crowding at the pool. Could not find a pool chair at ALL - very stressful and had to set our belongings on the ground in order to swim. They could not keep up with the towels either and by 3-4PM, you could not get one at all. The pool bar had short hours and the line was insanely long every day. The pool bar shared the same line as ordering the food truck food which added to that chaos as well. On Friday the food truck shut down early as well. There was one water dispenser in the lobby but it was always empty. I felt like a bother asking the mainstay tavern for water. The food there was very good and we ordered to go. The gym was amazing 10/10. The beds were AWFUL 0/10 they are on a platform with absolute no give at all - ROCK hard!!! Had to walk across the street to the other Marriott location to get espresso coffee. The extra charges are too much - says $30/night to park but after taxes and fees it is $35 a night and $25 a night for the resort fee which doesn't cover anything but bikes as the trolley is already free. It is $45 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella at the beach. The resort fee should offset this cost!!!!! The location is amazing but these extra charges are just too much and our stay left a lot to be desired. I also had a fraud charge immediately following paying for parking even though I used the QR code at the front desk and have not used that credit card for any other purchases - I wish this was charged directly through the hotel instead. It is not gated.
