For starters, my family and I were subjected to the owner of the property frequently stopping by uninvited to ask questions like "How is your husband doing at work?" and generally being nosy. This happened at least a dozen times in less than a year and yes, it made me feel very uncomfortable. There were significant issues with the house that were never repaired. One shower upstairs was unusable because it would leak through the kitchen ceiling. I told the owner directly since he made it so convenient for me to talk to him. I also reported the issue directly to BCI Properties through their own client portal. The gas fireplace was supposed to have a safety barrier installed so our baby and preschoolers wouldn't 't burn their hands on it. Promised before we moved in and never happened. The dishwasher had a broken spring on the door so it would dead fall with enough force to bruise my legs several times and it took 9 months to get that fixed. The dishwasher was broken for a month and during that time the washer died too. What are the chances? Most of these issues were 1st world problems so if that isn't compelling enough I'll share the best part about this whole circus. When we moved out we expected most of our security deposit ($2,650) to be returned because we left the house in great condition and deep cleaned nearly ever surface. What we received was an invoice for around $5,000. Long story short, I took them to small claims court and won. Not only did I win but I asked to court to double the deposit BCI had fraudulently kept and got that too. BCI appealed the decision and again they lost. Interestingly, our property manager, Naomi Burke quoted RCW's to the commissioner as if she understood the laws. Clearly she didn't. . If you have the misfortune to be renting with BCI now, do yourself a favor and document everything. Take pictures before and after you move out. Take a screenshot of your repair requests on their client portal (You will be locked out as soon as your lease is over.) for your records assuming you'll be in court and need to prove their negligence. Also, texts are admissible as evidence for your case. You can win against them if you are willing to play the long game but better yet, don't do any business with them and save yourself the stress.

I would not recommend working with Darcie. We trusted her to properly vet tenants for my parents'…read morerental property, but the experience has been extremely disappointing. The tenants disclosed that they were smokers and stated they would only smoke outside. However, this should have been a significant concern and was either overlooked or not taken seriously during the screening process. After issues arose and we reached out for assistance, there was little to no accountability or support. Since moving in, the tenants have openly bragged about having been in prison and have exhibited behavior that has made us feel uncomfortable and concerned about their stability. While everyone's past is their own, these developments have raised serious questions about how thoroughly the screening process was conducted. A realtor's job is to help protect their clients by carefully vetting prospective tenants and identifying potential risks. In our experience, that did not happen. We are now dealing with the consequences of what appears to have been a lack of due diligence and poor judgment. Unfortunately, this has been a costly and stressful experience for our family.

Today I inquired regarding a property that was listed for rent. I asked one simple question…read more Would it be possible to tour the property prior to putting in an application? Within an hour I received a form email regarding the property having an application pending. Ok, but I am now curious regarding other properties. I have questions, and since the email was clearly form, I call. Stacey immediately assumed what my question was. Inaccurately. And would not let me get a word in edgewise. I tried this twice. Never got to ask the questions, and I can not imagine how impossible this company would be if they were managing a property that I cared about. Can you imagine renting from someone like that? Not me. We will not suggesting this company to anyone for management of property nor rentals, and will be avoiding any dealings with the same in the future.

He screamed at me when we signed up another realtor to sell my mom's house when she died at the request of her attorney. He delayed getting another property rented for 5 months not notifying us that his handyman had left the job so getting it ready to rent was severely delayed. He caused problems between me and my sibling business partners by not taking responsibility for his behavior saying we just don't like each other.

I gave it two days and called them on a Tuesday to be told they were done with the verification process on Thursday (5 days prior). I then reached out to the number listed on google that populates when searching the name of the David Reames company (253) 302-4290. No one answered or returned the call. I called David back on his number and did not get an answer. I waited a couple more days and finally got him to answer. He issues me an excuse on why he has not reached out (2weeks has gone by) and says he will call me back. I Wait yet ANOTHER week and don't hear back. I am now on almost 4 weeks of no response on the status and see that he has now posted the ad back on craigslist to prowl on another innocent renter. At this point I could care less if he calls back as I would not want to rent with someone who cannot return a call on an application status. That right there says a lot about his company and I will not be referring him to anyone.
