My boyfriend and I went to dinner here on Sunday on our way back from the vineyards and we loved it! We ordered the pear gorgonzola salad as an appetizer which was great. For my entree, I got the stuffed flounder. My boyfriend got an awesome pasta dish that came with meat sauce. We both ordered speciality cocktails that tasted delicious and even ordered dessert. The espresso creme brûlée was amazing and I usually do not like creme brûlée. The lava cake was great too. I rarely give out 5/5 star reviews, but this is an exceptional restaurant with an amazing view. This is NOT one of those local joints that let the view surpass the service and food. Atmosphere: When driving in, we found a parking spot right away, despite the big crowd. There is a nice koi pond on the top of the stairs when entering the restaurant. The hostess stand is right when you walk in the door and you are greeted right away. The wine bottle holders decorating the wall behind the hostess stand are a nice touch. The dining room is entirely open with cathedral ceilings and large wood beams. The windows that surround the dining room over look the bay. There is also a nice balcony patio that I am dying to come back for when the weather is warmer. There are beautiful fish tanks that separate the bar area from the dining area and they were very nice to look at. The hardwood floors, wood tables, and chairs are gorgeous and comfortable. Service: The hostess was friendly and seated us right away. (We had a reservation). Our assistant waiter came to the table promptly with bowls of warm assorted breads and water carafes. Our water carafes were also filled throughout dinner (without us noticing). Our waiter was on point and friendly. He made some great recommendations and was a pleasure to dine with. Food: YUM YUM YUM! The food was fresh, delicious, and perfectly seasoned! I am a salt-a-holic and didn't have to use a pinch on these dinners. We ordered calamari and fried ravioli for the table. The appetizers were good sized and came out quick. They were delicious, although I wish they had banana peppers in the calamari (just something I love). Our salads were crisp, fresh, and delicious. For entrees, I ordered one of the specials: BBQ Pork tenderloin with an espresso BBQ sauce with roasted potatoes. I wish the dish came with a vegetable, however, the pork was so tender I didn't even need a knife to cut it. The edges had just the perfect amount of sear and the flavor of the sauce was out of this world. I was too full to order any dessert. My fiancee ordered a Cesar salad to start and it was divine! I don't even like Cesar dressing or salads normally, however this was exceptional. For his entree, he ordered filet mignon au poirve with the roasted potatoes. His filet was seared to perfection and the gorgonzola and brandy sauce was delicious! My mother ordered the lobster pasta. She absolutely loved her lobster. I tasted the sauce and the pasta and was surprised on how tender the pasta was and the sauce was a party! My future mother - in - law ordered the veal saltimboca and she enjoyed every bite. I had a small taste and already put it on my list of dishes to order next. My sister and her husband ordered the filet as well, which they both enjoyed. Bar / Drinks: They have a nice selection of wines and martinis. The beer menu is limited, however, I am sure you will find something that you like. When you eat at a restaurant and are already planning the next visit and meal that you want to have there, it is a great sign! It's not something that I have experienced much of since moving to the Hamptons. Actually, I had high expectations of the dining experiences out here and have been disappointed. I feel like most of the restaurants out here rely heavily on the fact that they are in the "Hamptons" and take advantage of their views. Most of our service out this way has been lackluster with mediocre food. HOWEVER, the Edgewater has given me hope and far surpassed my expectations. The only cons - make a reservation ahead of time or plan on waiting at least an hour to hour and a half on a Saturday night. Their dinner specials will sell out quickly. I actually ordered their last piece of BBQ tenderloin and our seating was at 6:30. That's strange to be out of a dinner special so early into the dinner service. Definitely make time to stop here for dinner if you are in town. I can see this place also being a great time for special event such as a rehearsal dinner, family get together, etc. read more

An absolute favorite of mine. Staff and food are EXCELLENT!!! Unfortunately the fellow patrons leave alot to be desired. So what happened you ask??? TWO cases of HBB! (Hamptonites Behaving Badly) Incident #1 I arrive with my family and there is a wait of 15 mins per the very nice hostess who recommends we wait at the bar. They don't take reservations for a party of 3 (My only complaint about Edgewater but people probably screw them on reservations all the time so I don't blame them). A party of 4 shows up. Dressed very formal. Its a Birthday for his Mom, he is about 50, with wife and his Mom and Dad. They are 30 mins late on their reservation and lost their table. They are told the same as we were of the 15 min wait... This guy freaks out and ACTUALLY GOES TO PHYSICALLY STRIKE THE HOSTESS!!! Needless to say I had to put him down and convince him to behave himself. It was the behavior of a child you would expect at McD's for not getting a toy in their happy meal! Incident #2 My Parents took me here for Dinner again and we are seated promptly - a table over there is a couple, her parents, and their young child (maybe 2 or 3 years old). Suddenly, I hear it start... Clang clang clang. ClangClang Ca-clang...!!!! A fork, smacking against the side of a water glass! Its going over, and over, and did I say over??? So I figure - WOW that little baby can keep a beat like that??? TALENT?!?!? NO - It's DAD!!!!! Distracting the child? NOPE - Entertaining himself! Soooo... we asked the waitress to say something so she in turn told the Manager who then did nada as the beat rolled on. God, do I love this place. We come here multiple times a year to celebrate birthdays. Huge menu, yet everything is delicious. The one place where everyone in the family gets appetizer, entree, and dessert. Drinks are awesome and strong. Waitstaff is always wonderful. We were out riding the motorcycle in the hamptons and were looking for a good seafood restaurant. Well this is the place! I looked up the reviews on yelp first. Edgewater had 4.5 stars! This encouraged me to stop here. We were a little under dressed as the atmosphere is a little more dressy then casual. The waitress was very attentive and sweet. I ordered the Seafood Stuffed Flounder and my fiance had the Lobster pasta. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The stuffing was all seafood almost no breadcrumbs and the Lobster pasta had a full lobster in it ! I have visited Edgewater several times this summer. The food, service and atmosphere are top notch. Their 2 for 1 specials on Tuesday and Wednesday are not only great value, but offer a wide selection of entrees to choose from. They do a great job with salmon, chicken, linguini with red or white clam, and too many others to list. Salads are big enough to share, and there are excellent appetizers and smaller plates. Soups are excellent. Outside dining is terrific when the weather permits. My new favorite place! read more

Went here with a big group. Made reservations 2 months in advanced and they tried to sit us at two different tables initially. They got us a table all together. The food was pretty good! I had the seared tuna with asparagus. The only other thing that really bothered me was that my friend ordered oysters and she has Celiac disease. We made sure the waitress knew this before she ordered and the waitress even told us that a few people on staff are gluten free and everything would be fine. Well the oysters came out and there was bread on top of them. My friend kindly explained to the man who brought it out that she couldn't eat it because of her disease and that the contamination would kill her - she still wanted it and he said he would have another one right out. Well no one ever brought anything else out and the waitress basically avoided us the rest of the night until it was time to pay the bill. No apology, no comped drink (we didn't need anything free but it would have been a nice gesture) or anything. We said something at the end to her and she apologized but it was really weird how they handled it. read more

Literally just walked out of the restaurant and can not say enough about this place. My wife and I enjoy a night away from the chaos of life and spend the night in lovely Southampton. Our usual spot recently changed and needed a new place to eat. After reading such rave reviews about Edgewater it was a must. Fresh seafood all across the board. Clams oraganata was probably the best I've ever had along with the char grilled oysters. Tuna app was as fresh as can be and the crab avocado salad... speechless. Our final dish was the au puave filet mignon. Butter!!! Cooked to perfection, and the veggies were fresh and flavorful. Melissa our server for the evening was very friendly and in conversation with her turns out my wife and her have a family friend in common! Wish there was a spot like this where we lived, I'd be there almost every night!! Don't pass on this place people, it will NOT disappoint!! read more

We have been going to Edgewater for YEARS and have always had great food in a beautiful atmosphere. My favorite app is the duck & Farro salad. All of the food is fresh. Drinks are great. So so disappointed... I was there for drinks and dinner and hoping to have a great experience and find a new spot. The drinks came and I was immediately disappointed. The menu said muddled berries. Well, Im not sure what that was but def not muddled berried as there were none in the drink. It was my mistake not to return it. The appetizer was just ok, meatballs and burrata with just a sliver of burrata (seriously). Then my meal came and it looked like when you go to a bad catering hall and they made that a week before and it was in the back of the fridge- veal saltimbocca - just awful and cold to boot! So I returned that and got the Veal Milanese. My husband and I had stomach problems immediately but I suffered for 24 hours! Stomach went crazy and have been sick. Oh man...never again! read more

Stopped in after a few hours at Cowfish down the road. Great local place to have a good craft beer, or a tasty cocktail before a very satisfying meal. Bartenders are pleasant and the wait staff was very nice and helpful too. I had the Striped Bass and it was excellent and my girlfriend had a pasta dish which I forgot the name of, which she said was very good also!Be forewarned this place gets crowded fast! It opens at 5pm and there is already a waiting line and list! We tried to get a reservation by phone but I think reservations are only for parties of 5 or over. The place has a very nice view of the Shinnecock Bay- if you're patient and can wait a few extra minutes, grab a seat on the outside porch-it'll be worth it! If memory serves me correctly years back this was Jeremy's Ale House, spent a wonderful Summer coming here- alas it was only open fir 1 year-it was nice to come back to a friendly place, good food and that view- many good years ahead to Edgewater!!! read more

Came here for dinner the other night for date night it was my first time here my bf has been here twice before but some time ago. The staff was very friendly checked on us enough times it was a hot day and it wasn't very cool inside where we ate that is probably my only complaint seeing as how I am pregnant I was hoping inside would have been kept cooler. We ordered two starters the calamari which was good but kind of small I have had bigger calamari and paid less but still tasted good and so did the sauces that came with it and we tried the Gnocchi in pistachio sauce which we should have thought better about because it was very warm and made it warmer it was okay didn't taste like pistachio but was still good. I then got the 16oz ribeye with fries the steak was cooked perfect and delicious but my eyes are bigger then my stomach and didn't realize how big 16 oz was lol so ate half and took home the rest which was still delicious the next day. My bf had the Grilled Filet Mignon Au Poivre which I tried some and he will agree was delicious again cooked perfect and tasted great an because its date night even though I couldn't finish the entree we decided to order the white chocolate bread pudding which we both thought was very good over all the food was good I may go back but I am looking to be wowed and I wasn't I guess I am looking for more creative menu choices but if your looking for a perfectly cooked meal this is def a place to try. read more

This place is a hidden gem!! Its such a perfect Hamptons Restaurant! The food here is amazing! My favorite was the penne vodka and thin crust pizza. The taste is very flavorful and the pasta was cooked well. Our drinks were on the strong side ( we got raspberry cosmo ), i couldn't finish it. There menu has lots of different options and regular Italian food. We also got chicken parm and that was delish also. It was three of us and we split everything & still had left over.. Will be back next summer when im back in the Hamptons!!! read more

Great food. When it's busy get ready for a helluva long wait, which is pretty usual in the hamptons. Great hot bread at the table, garlic knots, generous amount of butter. Drinks are nicely sized. We ordered: 16 oz prime rib (ordered medium, came out a little on the well side, but was still great), son had this great lobster pasta dish with generous amounts of whole lobster pieces , and daughter had linguini with white clam sauce . The linguini with white clam was prepared with a lot of red pepper flakes; I didn't know they put red pepper flakes in white clam sauce, (apparently the waitress didn't know either. ) Anyway, brought it to the busboy's attention, and he was gracious, apologized it wasn't right, took off into the kitchen and was back quickly with another lobster pasta dish.
