Gorgeous food and a gorgeous view, love coming here! Can't wait until it's open again.

Ambiance is nice. They followed all COVID-19 regulations and we felt safe. But I expected more than what I received. There were 4 of us. Let's start with the drinks. Although the Edgewater martini was tasty, it had large shreds of coconut in it making it difficult to drink. The blue cheese stuffed olives in the dirty martinis were soggy and old. Grilled oysters were overly seasoned and salty but were consumed. Meatballs and burrata were passable but by no means "Italian". On to the entrees. My husband ordered the yellowfin tuna. It was cooked perfectly rare but the seasoning overpowered the taste of the tuna. It was paired with a few stalks of asparagus. Veal pizziola was plentiful and was enjoyed. The risotto with the Shrimp oreganata was dry and tasteless, not creamy as risotto should be. The risotto went uneaten. I ordered the from the daily specials. Sea scallops over roasted corn salsa with cherry tomatoes and white balsamic glaze. Scallops were dry and overcooked. Corn was not impressive. I did taste the sweetness from the balsamic glaze which I liked. All the dishes lacked presentation and were sloppy making it a disappointing dining experience. Our dining out in restaurants are few and I really was looking forward to having a delicious dinner and experience here. Sadly I was disappointed. read more

Don't bother- overrated. We had a reservation for 6 to celebrate a birthday and at the last minute one person cancelled (due to illness) and when we arrived we were given disgusting attitude by the unseasoned hostesses who thought we were trying to pull something on them. It ruined our friends birthday and the nasty hostesses seemed very happy to ruin our night. The birthday girl tried to get her husband to join us but the hostess happily said "we aren't holding your reservation for someone to show up" We asked to speak to the manager who didn't bother coming out. We left and went to Centro for a delicious stress free meal. Skip edgewaters as it's nothing to write home about! Go to centro instead for a delicious meal! read more

Great location and wonderful food, but the service we received was awful! Really ruined a perfect evening. After ordering, we received our delicious grilled oyster appetizers, but then it was over 30 minutes before we received main courses. No one came to explain or apologize and when food finally came it was dropped off with no apology or explanation. Waiter continued ignoring us until he dropped off the bill, again with no comment or pleasantries. We love this restaurant. Everything is great from the cocktails to the food to the view! The service was excellent. I made a reservation and noted that we had one person in a wheelchair and they were extremely considerate and accommodating. Order the corn salad special with the fregola - it's excellent. read more

Great food that's worth the wait. Quality meals and nice atmosphere. No matter what you get it will not disappoint.

From many people I've heard that the food is so good we are a couple that goes out to eat 3 to 4 times a week and I unfortunately have to say that in the last seven months the meal that we had was the second worst. Tuna appetizer was the High Point of the whole meal and it was excellent lamb chop lollipops had no mention that they would be breaded and they were a taste was very limited the breadcrumbs stole the lambs flavor the Crab avocado salad could've been excellent for some unknown reason they put vinegar over the top. For dinner I had a steak sautéed spinach sautéed spinach was so unbelievably heavy with garlic that had to move it to the other side of the table the steak was overcooked asked for rare came out medium had a large lump of unmelted Karlik butter on top again the garlic just took away from the steak and then for dessert I had a cappuccino with Sambuca that was also good atmosphere was very nice waitress was very accommodating. Again so many people have told me how good the food is here and I'm sure I will give it one more attempt in hopes that they can redeem themselves yet with so many other great restaurants around we will have to wait a while before we go back. read more

Such a great spot if you're looking for a chill spot to have dinner. It's not exactly on the water, it's across the street from the water, but if you're sitting on the patio on the waterside, you can see it! We didn't have reservations but we're okay waiting because we weren't that hungry, for 5 people on a Saturday night at 7ish the wait was about 45 min. The best part about waiting in the outdoor waiting area was the live music that was there! Steve Fredericks was there the night we were there and he was so amazing, we all wanted to just eat in the waiting area and soak in the goodness of musical abilities! The menu is expansive!!! They have everything! I had the crab bisque which was pretty good (not enough crab, but isn't that the story of every bisque?) and the meatballs which were super tender and delicious. They also have a KILLER BREAD BASKET. A combination of everything rolls, garlic knots and some other sort of garlic flatbread. read more

A really solid restaurant that is perfect for a nice sunny day out in the Hamptons. The menu is nice and simple with just enough selection to please everyone's tastes. View is truly awesome (obviously given the name.) As a party of 6, we were quickly seated. The waiters are extremely considerate and social if you want them to be. Food is fantastic; I got the pasta and it was exactly what I was expecting. Nice, simple, full of seafood flavor and not overly seasoned. I did get the expresso creme bruele and was not impressed but that was probably my fault. Overall, it's a very nice place with a friendly staff and a very relaxing environment. read more

Everything here is so good you really can't do wrong. Excellent quality and genuine nice servers. I usually go for their pasta dishes (pasta al forno and lobster pasta being my favorite) unless a daily special really sticks out to me. Also, they have a great Sunday brunch with bottomless drinks that I don't know why more people don't take advantage of! And the lovely view of course. Thanks Edgewater for being a great staple all year round. Only warning would be to expect a wait on weekends or during the summer, like anywhere else in this area. read more

This place exists only for the view...the rest is absolutely disaster!! We made reservation and our table was promising us in 20 minutes which actually was 40 min because we pushed the hostess to clean it cuz everybody walked around and didnt buss it and the place wasnt even busy on a thursday night. We ordered the drinks and came after clock in 20 minutes!!!! Tuna tartar taste horrible and looks in the plate like it was chopped with the hammer!! I was pouring my sparkling water by myself cuz our waitress was dissapearing . The other meals were tasteless. We tried to specify our waitress that our dinner was not good and she smiled ...without any excuse!We will not come back in this place...horrible meals..unprofessional service...very dissapointed!! read more

When it comes to Italian in the Hamptons, look no further. Great food in a lovely setting right on the water, as the name states. The decor is nice and classy, and the service is great as well. I went for the mushroom risotto, which was great. The rice was a little bit underdone but the flavor made up for that. Really tasty!! The fried calamari appetizer was also very good as well as the caesar salad. The pasta dishes are supposedly very good as well according to others at my table. Another interesting dish they have is the pistachio gnocchi, very different but delicious. Overall this is definitely one of the best places for dinner in this part of the Hamptons. I came to Edgewater restaurant on my birthday as a spur of the moment thing......I loved the look of it but had not read reviews but was confident it would be nice and it exceeded my expectations:) The waitress Crissy was so accommodating and friendly. The food and the white sangria was great and we loved the atmosphere! Most of all we were still eating and gabbing past restaurant hours and no one was rude or upset that we were still there celebrating!!:) We appreciated everyone's patience and hope to return again soon. I live in the area and love coming to Edgewater. I love being able to get a table on the newly renovated outside deck. Food is delicious and so is the service. I try to go during the week because on Tuesdays they do 2 for one entrees which is an amazing deal! read more

Beautiful location and a staff who cares. But the food is disappointing. I had their signature linguini with clams. The clams were minced: strike one. Too muck oil: strike two. Sand and more sand. Im writing this review BEFORE after reading the one negative review i saw today. I will be dining at Edgewater tonight and eat here periodically throughout the year, some during the summer season and some during the off season. The food is always outstanding and so is the service. The chef is outstanding and so is the rest of the staff here. I live in the area and often look to choose a different restaurant for our occasional dinner outings. Often we find ourselves coming back to Edgewater. We have never been disappointed, other than having to wait for our table on a busy summer night. The wait is actually comfortable when you are sitting on the patio sipping a cocktail. By the way I will be dining there this evening.....again!! read more

Had dinner tonight for the first time and the food and service was excellent. We enjoyed the mozzarella sticks for the kids, crab and butternut squash soups to start. Dinners were the short ribs, shrimp oreganata, chicken meatballs and a pizza. All were great. Only issues we had were 2 of the entrees came out cold but they got new ones to our table right away that were very hot. Cocktails were on point as well. You need to get here. EDGEWATER has so much to offer. The view is stunning. No matter where you sit, inside or out, you can see the Shinnecock canal . The staff is spot on and very friendly. We ordered a really good 31.00 sonoma cab to go with a caesar salad that was perfect. A special of soft shell crab was served with a fresh corn, grape tomato and a ricotta salata salad was so delicious. I took home tomorrow's lunch and simply had no room for dessert. A second trip is planned so that we can dig into what looked like a funky napolean with fresh strawberries. We took the rest of our wine and sat outside on the patio. A great guitar player finished off the night. This is a very unfussy and non pretentious place with good food, beautiful view and a very cool vibe. Enjoy! read more

Although this is usually my favorite restaurant, I had an unpleasant experience my last visit. I made a reservation with a few friends (5 others) and unfortunately 2 of them had to cancel because they weren't feeling well. Now instead of receiving a table, we have to place our names at the bottom of the waitlist because our original table sat 8-10 people (even though the reservation was for 6). The hostess said we must wait for a 4 person table to open up. And it's raining. read more

We have a lovely time at Edgewater. The place was very pretty, outside and in. The service was attentive without being annoying or making us feel rushed. They had a baked clam special that was excellent and the flounder and salmon were both very good as well. A great spot for a summer night on the water. read more

Let me preface this with the comment that initially the food and service was good. This place was highly recommended by my husband's coworker rather than Cowfish. However after an incident that occurred tonight as we celebrated my birthday I am deeply disappointed in the management and staff. Here's the backstory - Two waiters walked by our outside table, one was carrying a large tray held up high containing another table's meals. As he walked by, the steak knife that was on the tray flew off, hit me on the back of the head, skimmed the side of my face and bounced off my shoulder. I caught the knife in my hand before it hit the table and handed it to the waiter . The waiter did not say anything, the second waiter said sorry and walked away. NOTHING ELSE. Our waitress came over and had not realized anything had occurred, we told her, she says she will take care of it. She comes back with our bill and says she's sorry and that she took off our two drinks and two desserts off the bill. What a low level response to a potential disaster. If my steak is not what I ordered or you took too long to serve my food - that's what you do, comp some drinks and dessert. If a flying steak knife hits a customer in the head - you call your manager who comes out and apologizes for the incident and his staff and figures out how to make sure that never happens again. I don't need a free meal but what should have been done was some sort of management response that went beyond comped drinks and desserts. read more

I recently held a private event at Edgewater and due to many last minute cancellations the number of people I expected did not show up. This did not phase John in the least. He and his staff went above and beyond for me, even helping me with technical issues with my computer and power point presentation. As always, the food was excellent. I couldn't recommend this restaurant any more than I always do. They are the best! read more

We went there last Saturday night. We were able to get a table around 9pm with only about 1/2 hour wait which was nice. My wife ordered the Cod which was ok. I ordered the Halibut special and had to return it as is was rubbery as if it was reheated for a while. Service was below average. Seems like the waiter had some friends sitting at a table next to ours and dedicated most of his attention to them. Our table was also across from the kitchen and was able to see him on his cell texting most of the time as he left us waiting. I would say the food was decent but the service was lacking. read more

If you asked me before tonight which restaurant was my favorite in Hampton Bays, Edgewater would be close to the top of the list. I went here a couple weeks ago with my family and fiancé to celebrate our recent engagement. We've been coming to Edgewater for many years and have ALWAYS had a delicious meal. Tonight it was truly sub par. For example the pizza looked like it had sat under a warming light for some time. The appetizers were a bit off, for example the fried mozzarella was placed on fresh mozzarella. Anyways, usually we're all raving about our food afterwards but not on this particular night. We hadn't been since last summer so perhaps there is a new chef or management. read more

The worst Tuna meal cooked Raw! I asked for medium and twice sent back. Even my husband veal meal came out cold, cheese not even melted. Such a disappointment. During season and holiday AVOID this place!!! read more
