Yo, I'm a fan. I have been wanting to try this place for a long time because of the reviews and I decided randomly to just go for it. For a Thursday night, they were pretty busy! I had at least 4-5 people ahead of me. It's also small so I am not sure if you may want to eat there. Maybe that's fine if you eat and go. First and foremost, it's very clean! Alot of these taquerias, especially on Clark, are disgusting and a complete turn off because who wants to get SICK. Not this place. It's clean, organized, and kind of trendy. I really like all of the cute skull pots around. I was deciding between 3 things and I ordered the steak enchiladas with salsa verde. It comes with pico de gallo, extra salsa and sour cream. Now, yes they are pricey for a taqueria. Expect to pay about 17.00 for enchiladas which is pricey but they were delicious!!! Steak is tender, salsa is full of flavor and spice, they are moist and not dry (eating a dry enchilada is the absoulte worse thing ever) and they are loaded with cheese! Beans and rice come with it as well, and they were a hit too. Go and check them out and yes, expect to pay more but a higher quality. Shoutout to the homie representing for the black community who spoke to a customer in Spanish fluently! The customer specifically asked for the Latina behind the counter to speak spanish to her, and he stepped in and said um, I speak spanish what you need (in Spanish LOL). But don't ever argue with me, Chicago got better tacos than LA and if I'm stretching it, they are better than NYC. And this restaurant is what'll prove my point. I never fail to find tacos where that were dry especially chicken taco and I always get disappointed but not here at Edgewater Tacos. They're just sooooo juicy and bursting with flavors! Chicken is literally my favorite and the al pastor cus of the pineapple. I would only suggest to change the name of the restaurant if I was the owner, why? Because the recipes are family tradition and the name of the restaurant does not do the food justice, the culture behind the food justice and most importantly the essence of this whole restaurant. This is a pretty good Mexican restaurant. Most dishes are well served and the rice and beans are tasty. It is clean and the service is good. The three stars are because the tables are uncomfortable to sit in and because I stop today on Saturday to get chicken flautas and they gave me only 3 short flautas with a little of lettuce and fake guacamole (those prepackage ones) for $16!!! When one taco is usually $2.50 anywhere else. Flautas are friend tortilla filled with chicken, rolled and fried. So Edgewater charged me $5 per each small flauta. They were good but they are abusing their customers during the pandemic. Plus I have to give the girl one dollar tip because I felt bad to leave zero tip. I paid $17 for the flautas including tax. Overpriced. For that reason, I will not be back. read more

Tasted alright but it was expensive. It was a 60 dollar visit for two. Nothing special, if anything I felt the meal was lacking in preperation. The beans didnt have any flavor, the side salad with the dinner had very finely diced tomatoes in it which was kind of unpleasant and shreds of lettuce. The tortillas for everything tasted old and had a weird texture. The meat for the carnitas was good, the al pastor was ok. It took a while for my order to be made. I guarantee I can cook better and faster then them any day of the week. read more
