Silverfish on my pillow in the Carrara room.
    Laurene R.

I stayed at this bed and breakfast in September of 2022 as a member of a wedding party. I stayed in two different rooms over the two nights we had reserved the place. Both beds were hard as a rock and I woke up with a headache both times. There was broken tile and you could see through the shower wall in the Samuel Priest room. There was mold on the shower curtain, crumbs inside the chairs, and what may possibly be the lumpiest pillows I've ever slept on in my life. Upstairs in the Carrara room, the jacuzzi tub was broken, there were broken tiles and there was a silverfish on my pillow... What I could see, there were probably more that I didnt. I am absolutely disgusted by the cleanliness of this place. The day before and day of the wedding, the owner was nowhere to be found and had not arranged the tables in the dining room for the reception. I had to spend time out of getting ready to help rearrange the settings because the owner literally showed up for like 5 minutes and couldn't be bothered to do anything we had asked him to do. He did not accommodate any of the requests from the bride and groom and changed up the details last minute when it came to the dinner. He had the poor staff which consisted of two very nice women serving 40 people dinner as fast as they could, when the previous arrangement was to have a buffet style dinner. We had an open bar with a tab of $1000 and this man had the nerve to charge $10 for a glass of wine, a bottle of beer and a can of seltzer, and $6 for a bottle of water. That is pure greed and disgusting that anyone would charge those prices. For someone to charge as much money as they did for this b&b/venue and have it in this condition is absolutely abhorrent. Half the stuff in there was broken and it clearly had not been maintained in quite a long time. The owner should not be in the hospitality business at all! The caretaker and the chef were wonderful, and incredibly friendly and helpful, and they did not deserve to be treated the way they were with the amount of work they were given and not enough help because the owner was too greedy to hire more people. Do yourself a favor and skip this place if you're looking for a wedding venue because he will not make any point to accommodate your needs.

I Decided to surprise my boyfriend for a early birthday and took him to Edgewood Manor Inn. I have to say the history and the Architecture of the manor is amazing. The owner did such a excellent job with the decor felt like we were back in time. We stayed in the colonial room which is beautiful with a huge jacuzzi tub and a king size four post bed. I highly recommend staying here very clean and covid safe. The French toast breakfast is delicious .

We celebrated my cousin's baby shower here this past weekend. It's a beautiful, historical and charming venue for small group events (50 ppl. or fewer), as well as. B&B with 4 guest bedroom suites. The only issue experienced was that it was really warm and stuffy inside, and the a/c wasn't on nor any windows open.

The manor is stunning. My husband and I stayed in the Samuel Priest room. This room boasts a gas fireplace, a jacuzzi, and a king post bed. The bathroom for this room, and probably all of them since the manor is old, is small and does not have a fan. This is one of my peeves. Nothing is worse than having a steamy, stinky bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful and welcoming. The server, Joy, was a riot. She normally is the chef, but was trying her hand at serving on this particular day and she definitely kept things lighthearted. Overall, this is a beautiful romantic manor. Highly recommended for couples looking for a relaxing getaway.

The room was spacious and decorated to match the outside of the building... And the man who checked us in told us the place was haunted! The man who built the building supposedly killed his entire family, then set them up at the dinner table like they were going to eat. Unfortunately we didn't get to see any ghosts. The breakfast was sufficient... No garden fresh ingredients here, but it was definitely better than Denny's and the waffles were homemade. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't like staying in boring/traditional style hotels, but still has a budget. Our 2 room suite with jacuzzi-tub cost $180/night before taxes.

My husband and I spent our New Years at the B&B and it was a great experience! The staff was very friendly and accomodating! Elegant decor and gorgeous rooms!

My boyfriend took me here as part of my birthday surprise. I didn't want to stay in a typical hotel. The decor was true to the home, everything seemed to be from its original owners with some updates in the rooms such as fixtures and the bathrooms. It was a comfortable stay in the rooms, however the Inn Keeper made my boyfriend and I a little uncomfortable with some of his commentary. I'm sure he was just trying to find common ground, but commenting on how he had a black friend and mentioned slave art pieces and dining with 9 young women at a function (which was random) made me a bit uneasy. It had nothing to do with our rooms or our stay.

The building is beautiful, every room i've ever stayed in has been lovely and the breakfast is almost always GREAT!

To the woman who stormed outside because she thought I left the door open? I went to take a picture of the front of the hotel. There was no reason to be so aggressive. Here are some issues we experienced during our stay at the Christopher Dodge House: My first morning after shaving, the bathroom sink had a slow drain. I have a sink full of shaving cream. I told the manager at breakfast and I received a text around 11am saying they'd fix the issue. I left around 1:30pm, the housekeeping-maintenance staff was gone! I spoke with Kate, the front desk manager who was the one who fixed the sink, made the bed and gave us fresh towels. (Love Kate) Our room was very charming. A large King Size bed with a pretty quilt gave us the feeling that we're staying in someone's home. From the exposed brick in the bedroom to the homemade cookies, it was all very welcoming. When Kate gave us a tour, we were shown the coffee station. This was all free but the bottled water is on the honor system and not free? Strange but ok... Let's break it down: Bath products: Dove Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash. It did the job, was it special? Nah. Bath towels were thick and plush. Bed/Pillows: Firm mattress, firm pillows. I guess it all depends on your preference. Breakfast: This was some High School Home Economics, basic food served to us. Each day we had two choices written on the blackboard, substitutes weren't mentioned to us. The first day I chose French Toast with bacon. The bacon was overcooked and the French Toast was Wonder bread with hardly any cinnamon. Pure Maple Syrup on each table was a plus. The continental breakfast communal table had cereal, hard boiled eggs and toast. A very basic breakfast selection. Today my wife and I both had the special of the day: Blueberry Dutch Baby. My wife's breakfast was wet and jiggly? Each day we left the dining room underwhelmed. Parking: If you stayed in a hotel, it would cost on average $30 per night. We had free parking during our stay. I had leg surgery a few weeks ago, to check into the B&B it's a very steep staircase to get to the front desk. If you have mobility issues, this would be a challenge. Christopher Dodge House is a beautiful, New England Bed and Breakfast in Providence RI. Free parking and close proximity to everything was a plus.

I was very unsure which area to stay in, but I'm so happy I chose CCB because the location is absolutely perfect. Back Bay is very nice and safe. You even have a wonderful park just outside the doorstep to walk around, and the lovely Boston Commons only two blocks away. Check-in/out was one of the most seamless experiences I've had with hotels/airbnbs. I didn't have to check in with anyone, and I received the door code a few days before. They have a lovely dining room for guests with homemade cookies, fruit, coffee and tea. Unfortunately I didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but I'm sure it's great too. CCB is really the perfect mix of a hotel and bed/breakfast. I was unsure about doing the solo room with a shared bathroom, but other than having to wait for the other guest to finish his shower so I could take an urgent bio break, it was no issue at all and I would hands down do it again. I'm pretty sure the other floors have a bathroom if you absolutely need it though. For the location, price, comfort, and amenities, College Club of Boston is a no brainer. I got the please to quickly meet the GM on my way out, and she is super sweet. I even left my airpods in the room, and without hesitation they are shipping them back to me. 5 starts forsure.

We stayed in the Garden Room, spacious and with a king size bed, very nicely decorated. On the problem side, the room was chilly and the only heating sources came from a window air conditioner/heater, which did nothing but blow luke war air into the cool room. We chose the alternative, a small electric fire place which, over a l-o-n-g period of time actually warmed the room to a comfortable level, while adding a romantic ambience to the charming room. We had a private bathroom, well-equipped and boasting a spacious walk-in tiled shower. The bed was perfectly comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. Breakfast, the second phase ofany Bed & Breakfast experience, was okay, but not great. We had fresh fruit salad, warm corn bread, lots of delicious hot coffee, and a little tiny dry veggie frittata. Ho hum. To make matters worse, the server seemed to have nothing better to do than to hang over the back of one of the chairs and engage us in endless conversation abut her life. Not cool. Breakfast would have been improved with twice the food and none of the intrusive conversation. Overall, our stay was okay, but I think I would look elsewhere should I return to the area for an overnight stay.
