However, on…read moreour most recent stay (May 8-12) we had the pleasure of meeting the new owners, Mike & Rebecca. They are both wonderful hosts and made my husband and I feel very much at home. The East Bay has been painted inside and out, with all guest rooms being brightened with new linens, window coverings and art. Breakfast included coffee, tea, fresh juice, fresh fruit, homemade pastry, and a savory entree (quiche, sausage & baked eggs, etc) You will not go away hungry! East Bay's location is perfect for exploring the Island on foot or by car, or heading over to Newport. We even made the quick 1 hour drive down to Stonington CT for wine tasting. While we missed seeing Paul & Diane, we wish them well in their retirement. The East Bay and her guests are in very good hands with Mike & Rebecca.

The room had a fireplace and a large shower, as well as a bay window looking out to ocean. Each morning there was a delicious breakfast assortment served and a wine and cheese hour each day at 5pm. There was also a beverage station with tea, coffee and water available all day as well as an assortment of nuts, trail mix and candy. Both ladies that worked there during our stay were so sweet and made us feel at home. We cannot wait to stay here again and recommend that you consider it as well!

All the staff we encountered were welcoming far beyond what mere professionalism required (everyone, but particularly thinking of Glenn, Sue, Brenda, Toby and Liz) - I always felt as welcome at the Francis Malbone House as I did at my grandmother's when I was a kid. Breakfasts and teas were terrific. The indoor and outdoor spaces are beautiful, tasteful and interesting. We absolutely look forward to returning.

We had the ground floor all to ourselves with our own bathroom and big comfy bed, game room with a pool table and big tv- what a dream! We came on a rainy weekend, but they have a gorgeous pool and yard we'll have to come back for. Breakfast was delicious!!! french toast, eggs, fruit, fresh coffee and real maple syrup! all elegantly and perfectly prepared. Definitely the best option if you are visiting the area. The only downside was a lack of a counter/ table in the bathroom for toiletries. Would def stay here again! I quite literally found Chart House by google mapping the area and searching 'hotels' to scan prices. I saw Chart House, looked at the website kind of briefly and booked it. When I tell you I was FLOORED at how gorgeous the property and room were. The building itself is beautiful and historic feeling. We had a parking spot that came in clutch as a boat show was going on. We stayed in the Jane Pickens suite. It is massive, has it's own sunroom, a huge bathroom area with a rainfall shower set up. It was so comfortable it made it hard to leave the room to go do things around town. Not to mention we had a complimentary breakfast everyday, and this is not a holiday inn style buffet, it was made to order absolutely delicious breakfast. Aside from the property itself, it is within walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do. 5 mins to Bowen's Warf, just a few blocks from Thames St. We even walked the 15/20 mins to Easton Beach and the start of the Cliff Walk (but ubered back at the end bc we were wiped from the walk itself). Our host Nicole was so accommodating and sweet. I have not been able to stop talking about the Chart House Inn to everyone who has asked about our trip. I cannot wait to come back and I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else on our next visit.

We had homemade scones, french toast, quiche. It is a perfect place to stay if you want to explore the local wineries and go to the beach. The only drawbacks for us were no wireless internet (and I was working a bit on this trip) and it is off the beaten track and can be hard to find, especially at night. Beware of the local 25mph speed limit!
