a fruit basket wrapped in plastic

Not good this time...... I received a very large fruit basket and balloon on Friday. I was so excited because these are always so yummy, however, the fruit wasn't ripe at all! The only thing edible and enjoyable were the grapes and the chocolate that the fruit was dipped in. For the price paid, this should always be tasted to ensure flavor and quality.

I was dubbed the best gift giver of the decade, so one would be surprised to see me patronizing an edible arrangement for a quick gift, but sometimes cliche and corny does the trick. I like this location because the service is friendly and although it is ALWAYS busy, they service each and every customer with a smile and patience. If they're ever out of a particular fruit or arrangement that you want they'll do their best to sub it out for something comparable or in some cases better. The fruit is always fresh and lasts for a few days when refrigerated. The pricing is typical of any edible arrangement. Located in Georgetown off M st, which is far af from me but convenient if you're on that side.

An alternative to treating friends and family to junk food. Kinda pricey for fruit dipped in chocolate but it is worth it once you try it.

Unfortunately, the location in DC has permanently closed and we were still very much in the mood for some pastries... my cousin who is French has previously sang the praises of this Lil French pastry shop, so of course I had to give it a try. I am so happy that I did because I truly believe that I have stumbled upon my new favorite pastry shop in the area! Upon walking in the smell of croissants and almonds and sweet, sweet delicacies filled my nostrils. I basically became the human version of Remy from ratatouille inhaling a delicious bouillabaisse simmering on the stove top for hours....seeing colors and flavors so bright and intoxicating I simply had to have it I walked in and my eyes were instantly attracted to so many delicious options from classics like Palmiers and Napoleons to some unique flavor combos I've never tried before combined like raspberry and pistachio. Of course, I decided to grab a little bit of everything to make an accurate assessment as a YELP Elite should!! My favorite hands-down was the Berry Millefuille. The way the pastry crumbled in my mouth with every bite, combined with the tart, fresh raspberries, and thick flavorful custard.... Was worth every penny. Honorable mentions go to the peach rosemary tart, which was so unique with the added botanical of rosemary with some fresh sweet peach slices on top and a very crunchy tart base. We all enjoyed everything we purchased! I also ordered one of their seasonal specialties, the rosemary latte with skim milk and iced. The flavors were so uniquely crafted to where you could taste everything but everything combined together for the perfect sip. The ladies who greeted us at the cash register were so patient, so kind, and so understanding of my excitement and difficulty deciding and they even helped me add on a little chocolate happy birthday rectangle to the pastry I purchased for my husband! Without a doubt, this is only the first of the many times I will visit the establishment. It was so authentic, so delicious and passed all the vibe checks even from the French side of the family. I was told I have to return when they first open to have a fresh croissant and a fresh baguette that is on par with what you would have in Paris. Even the items in the fridge were made in France and were delicious fruit nectars that were very unique- we purchased a passionfruit nectar that didn't even make it past the doors before we had completely inhaled it and purchased a lychee nectar for later. I am so excited to have learned about this establishment and believe me when I say you must run, not walk, to experience it for yourself. Note- The dine in area inside the establishment is limited to a couple small tables. Definitely not equipped for large parties and a couple outdoor seatings right outside.

It was a beautiful summer afternoon in the DMV area - the low-humidity and happy-sunshine type of day when your hair doesn't frizz, and you would be just as happy sitting indoors or outdoors because the weather was perfectly cooperative. We found ourselves at Un Je Ne Sais Quoi, which was teeming with people - line out of the door, small space, tiny tables, indoor and outdoor seating, first come first served. We snagged seating indoors and soaked in the laid back European vibes. We had our delicious coffees - mercifully served in proper ceramic cups and some sweet treats. Would definitely be back - perhaps in the morning because I hear that the croissants are supposed to be on point!

Luckily the menu isn't huge, so it was pretty easy to pick what I wanted and make the time work. The decor is so cool! The had a ton of fake plants and lemons outside and it was a great vibe. It was like 95 out which is WAY too hot for me, but the outdoor patio had a ton of fans, including one blowing directly on me, so I actually thought it was lovely. I started with a cucumber drink that was fun and unusual. I also got the crispy artichokes which were flavorful and great, but definitely a dish to share and not eat alone. For my main, I did the lobster risotto. SO GOOD! It's very rich and again, wish I would have shared with someone. The servers were great- it was a super busy night and they all helped and supported each other well so that nobody was left hanging. Would love to return!

I perused their Instagram beforehand and was drawn in by big, heaping plates of pasta with a generous helping of Parmesan. Reality did not match what was advertised. A small portion of pasta was plated on only one side of the dish, leaving half completely bare. This cost $21 and it tasted just fine. If you're going to overprice an underwhelming portion, at least plate it better. Put it in the middle. Add some garlic bread or salad on the right. Offer me some fresh Parmesan. We had a group of 8 on their covered patio, and the service was slow and forgetful. The waiter brought the wrong drink, and then charged us for it. He kept forgetting to bring my friend's drinks. The water was warm, and my $18 Kiwi cocktail was warm. The only salvage was the good DJ. Overall, this was a disappointing and overpriced experienced.

My partner and I were in the neighborhood and I was like, let's go here. It was a place that always seemed so fancy when I was barely making enough for rent. The restaurant is not flashy. It's quirky inside with antiques, statues and decorations scattered throughout. We ended up getting a seat on the patio since it was such a gorgeous night. The host was nice about my indecisiveness, and sat us at a table that was technically for 4, but it wasn't a busy night. The wine list wasn't the greatest. But the food was very tasty. The complimentary bread was just so so, a little dry. But the entrees were really good. We got the Caesar salad, risotto with shrimp and the bolognese sauce over rigatoni. Portions were fairly small for the price point. But we joked, it was good for portion control. I'm glad we finally made it to this spot. It is a very nice, neighborhood spot.

My hubby and I really enjoyed it! We arrived 20 mins early and the guy checking us in said that the tour may start early, but looking at his check in list, it seemed like it was bc almost everyone had arrived. There were 2 separate grps & only 20 ppl in ea grp. At 1st I was bummed that the 6 stops weren't places that were only choc, but it ended up being a great experience, getting a taste of other things with chocolate in it, like bread, cupcakes, caramels, and fudge, as well as chocolate bars and bon bons. We also enjoyed our guide, Linda. She was bubbly (but not sickingly), knowledgeable about the area and our stops, careful about getting us to our destination safely, and good about moving us along but not rushing us. Only complaint....1 of our stops was closed for the thanksgiving weekend. Great Food Tour should've either checked with each stop bc if the holiday, and the closed stop should've notified the tour company. We weren't made aware of the closure until near the end.
