Upon entering, I was not greeted, acknowledged, or even offered the basic courtesy of "I'll be with you shortly." Instead, I was completely ignored while the employee continued her conversation with another couple at the register. What made the interaction even more disappointing was the visible expression of disdain on the woman's face, followed by her calling a younger Black woman from the back to assist me rather than acknowledging me herself. As a paying customer, respect and basic human decency should never feel selective. To my fellow people of color, please be mindful of where you choose to spend your hard-earned money. As for me and my tribe, we will no longer support this establishment. I would much rather patronize businesses that believe every customer deserves to be treated equally and with dignity, regardless of the color of their skin.
