Good home cooked breakfast. Biscuits were very good. Very friendly service. A bit more expensive than one would expect, though.

We were visiting family in the area and wanted a good diner breakfast before a day of sightseeing and outdoors enjoyment. Edith's popped up on the search and seemed like it would fit the bill--and it did! Laid back and old-school diner with very fair prices and portions. I had the country fried steak and eggs with homefries and a biscuit, my wife ordered an egg sandwich. We both enjoyed our food and hot coffee. The owner (Edith?) seemed to be all hands on deck, assisting with the cooking (I think) and serving us as well, if so doing both tremendously! Very friendly and efficient person who appears to run a great business. If I lived in the area I'd be back to try lunch and dessert, so until that's possible I'll just have to recommend to the family members we were visiting to give Edith's a try!

This location is a family favorite for us. We have been having breakfast here for years, and I never considered leaving a review because this restaurant has transcended the traditional feeling of dining out and more so feels like we're having breakfast in a family friend's dining room. If you're traveling down Route 60 East or West, I highly recommend you give Ms. Edith a chance. The ambiance is so welcoming and friendly, and the staff are always ready to bring you a fresh cup of coffee and serve a delicious home-cooked meal. I always order eggs over easy, country sausage, toast, and corned beef hash. Hits the spot every single time. My wife and our child also have their regular meals that they are consistently satisfied with as well.

Stopped for breakfast on our way to Asheville. Spartan, but good. The toilet was broken.

Yelp reviewers, thank you for the recommendation! I'm just passing through (Louisiana to Niagara…read moreFalls) and did a quick search for a good place to eat in this area before I booked my hotel & I'm thrilled I made time for Angelle's Diner! I made lots of friends in the outdoor dining area since I have my sweet dog. My new friends recommended hamburgers & the BLT. I decided to strike out on my own & ordered the Country Fried Steak with white gravy. Now I'm from Texas & I love CFS, so when I tell you it was good, that means something!!! It was fresh & hot! Fresh okra that you can tell was hand breaded (amazing, my first of the season since we've had so much rain in LA)! The onion rings were also awesome. The ranch was a little runny but it tasted great (I just would have liked more sticking to the ORs)! Patty was great!!! Super helpful & attentive. She brought my pup water & then brought him refills. That has never happened to me before! Doggie owners, I felt welcomed. All that plus a really nice fruity cake for dessert cost $23.58! I feel weird giving my meal a 10 (since I'm from TX & the food is a Texan staple) but it's well deserved. Great ending to a very long day driving!

My wife had half of mine while they made another one. The new one was almost right. About 1/4 of it was raw. What wasn't raw was very good. The fried okra was good. The fries were so-so (not crispy). The service was terrible. They were a little busy, but not *that* busy.

It felt like a dream pulling in to this picturesque location (pic). Adorable classic diner from start to finish. Checkered floor, the sound of conversation and clinking silverware. Food was fantastic. Excellent prices. Real Eggs, hash browns and a huge hot cake. The staff was working their butts off. Full and bustling Sunday morning. They had a help wanted sign and the fantasy of blowing up my whole life to move here and apply was fun to ponder as I finished up my meal. I loved the way the cook said, here you go baby as she plopped my plate down, hot and fresh off the griddle. It took everything in me not to fall in love with my server. He has aura. I'll never be back and I will never forget it.

Didn't have the ingredients for the special we ordered and we weren't told until the rest of the food was started. Meaning that order would be delivered much later than rest and that person would essentially have to watch the rest of our party eat while there was cooked. The reason for the issues was probably the loud smell of marijuana that wafted through the whole restaurant. 0/10 recommend Side note. I don't know why food, service and ambience are checked green because they were not good.
