Ordered several sides to try. Baked beans are okay. Mac n cheese was dry, think they left off the cheese. Coleslaw is good, If you like the vinegar type more than than the mayo. Great atmosphere & BBQ, the dry rub wings are a must try. Thursday smash burger special is probably the best burger I have ever had. I have also really enjoyed the baby back ribs both times I have had them have been perfect. The ribs are done perfectly and not steamed like most BBQ restaurants therefore, the texture has a bit of a pull then come off the bone perfectly (the way ribs are supposed to be) trust me I know! I have eaten at Edley's several times in the past few weeks and each experience has been exceptional. From the moment we walked in until we walked out. The service was outstanding, the menu had all the classic side dishes along with all our favorite BBQ. The Brisket, Burnt Ends, and Turkey were delicious. We went on a Friday night. You go up to the window and order and they bring out your food. The wait was pretty short to work. I got the shrimp tacos and they were so good! They also have great fries! My husband got the ribs and really liked them. The Mac and cheese had a lot of pepper so my kids didn't love that. The grit casserole was ok. I would recommend a different side. Food was great! Especially the fries which were crispy on the outside but nice and hot on the inside, nicely salted too. The fried pickles were also tasty and the cole slaw was exceptional. We got the Buffalo wings and we were a little disappointed by the spice level, however I understand the restaurants need to cater to Midwest spice tolerance. The ribs had great flavor to them and very tender and the brisket was melts in your mouth good the cornbread was awesome and the sides were good also I would recommend this place if you're looking for a good barbecue. they also have a full bar and the staff is very friendly. I can't believe Edley's has such a low rating! Clearly, these people aren't getting the hot chicken (in any form), the hot shrimp tacos (on Fridays!), or the burger (on Thursdays). I've never had something I didn't like, plus they have good tea and cold beer. What's not to love!? Plenty of outdoor seating and they keep pace in high volume times. Delish! read more

It was fine, but I don't need to go back. It's overpriced for what it is, and we just don't enjoy counter service restaurants. We didn't realize there wasn't table service before we went, or we would have skipped the visit all together. The brisket platter was really small, and nearly $18. The BBQ Nachos were a surprise, and not in a good way. They were not made with tortilla chip, but rather homemade potato chips. This might have been ok had the menu called it out, it's just not what we had in mind and we are not really fans of potato chips. We did enjoy the fried pickles, and the kids chicken strips were fine too. They do have a wonderful floor staff. Let's start with the good first, because it spirals downhill quickly... Great location especially if you are coming home(GC/Edw) from work and want carry-out. Great looking building and a cool bar that opens up to the outside when the weather is nice...... After four visits (2DI/2CO) the food is subpar. The BBQ is either overcooked or lacking any flavor. The sides are very bland and don't seem fresh. The cornbread is dry and tasteless. The banana pudding was okay.. So if you want to grab a beer and dessert on a nice day (music on Sat) you're good. Be still my beating Bar-B-Q'd brisket heart! What a wonderful addition to the Edwardsville dining and venue scene. It was a little odd on a Saturday afternoon when friends asked us to meet them at Edley's for cocktails. Cocktails? At a Bar-B-Q joint? This is more than your usual BBQ restaurant. It has atmosphere , pizzazz, music, fun. It has a huge open air bar. For the germaphobe who won't dine inside, this place is perfect for good food, drink and safe socializing. Although the sun was beating on us, it was nice and cool bc the AC blasts out. The staff are great and you can tell they've got a good work culture. Everyone is happy, helpful and accommodating. The owners and their son, who is a bartender were on hand and very friendly . Kudos to their son for working his tail off on a busy Saturday and not sloughing the work load off on the other staff. I'm not one of these BBQ aficionados, but I am a foodie with a particular palate. I'm also particular about my cocktails and a germaphobe to boot. Edley's gets an A+ in all areas. Besides the meat being delicious, they've got tasty and creative sides, like banana pudding? I also was impressed with the selection of non meaty and lighter options. My boyfriend , who doesn't view food as a meal unless it contains something that has bled and suffered loved it for the tasty pulled pork and brisket, but I'm eyeing their salads and shrimp . That being said, weather permitting, I'll be perched at the bar on Thursday for smash burgers. Give Edley's a try...... you'll be glad you did. read more

If you have spice issues this is not the place for you! (toooooo spicy). Everything had a spicy spice on it. The amount of meat for what i got wasnt very much and the sides where in small cups. Best BBQ I have ever had. I have been multiple times, each time getting a new menu item. Ribs, brisket, pork, tacos, catfish, hot chicken, you name it, they got it! So good. Their sides are so tasty, you can tell they put as much effort into their sides as they do their meats. Love the outdoor patio including the large TV, and outdoor bar. The portions are small. I ordered an avocado salad without dressing and it came with dressing. When they brought the second one out it didn't have avocado and then they brought a little chunk of avocado on a separate plate, And the turkey tasted like it had been rinsed off. read more

We come to Edwardsville yearly and always stay at Holiday Inn Express. We noticed a new Barbecue restaurant which we tried for dinner bc we love barbecued ribs. What a disappointment. The ribs were so tough that it was impossible to cut them apart with the plastic utensils we were given. When an employee came by we asked if these were the Baby back ribs and after carefully looking at my plate he said yes. I wish I had read some of the reviews before we went. read more

Much better BBQ places in the area. Food was very bland and only luke warm. Cornbread was very dry. The "baked beans" have the texture of refried beans with no taste. Service was ok but no one working was wearing a mask. Everyone is tired of wearing a mask but people who are handling food need to be masked up. We wont go back. read more

Ate lunch there this afternoon with my daughter and couldn't get over how great the pork platter was. I've ate at the 12 south location in Nashville and this is exactly like it. St Louis style Ribs, Fried Pickles, Green Beans, Cornbread were all good. Baked beans weren't great in my opinion, but someone else with different tastebuds might like them. Nice place to go! I don't really like the café type restaurant I don't like walking through that food bar like I'm at the hospital cafeteria, when I go out to eat, I prefer to be weeded on, or else I could just make my own food at home is how I feel about it however, the staff was so over accommodating! I did not get what I expected I would get for my meal, the waitress happened to notice that I wasn't eating it and although I was kind of cranky, she pestered me into telling her that I didn't care for this. I assumed it was going to be something different, I tried to refuse her, exchanging it for a different meal, it was not her fault I didn't get what I thought I was getting,but she QUICKLY exchanged it out for something great and amazing!! It's not easy to change my grumpy mood, but she did! If I could give zero stars I would! Burnt EndsThe burnt ends were charred and cut to dime/nickel size. The cornbread was extremely dry. Ordered a margarita and got a single 2 ounce pour of the infused liquor the rest was soda, the bartender then used a toothpick to take out the pineapple from the jar but then transferred the pineapple to her bare hands and placed it in the drink. Paid for tea and they were out and refused to make more. Went to get Dr. Pepper since they were out of tea and it was out. When asked for them to change it she said ok thanks and continued to go around the entire store multiple times picking stuff up and moving it around. Asked the bar if they had Dr. Pepper instead since it didn't seem like they were going to change the Dr. Pepper and was told no just coke and sprite I said no thank you I asked for the Dr. pepper to be changed and she just said ok thanks. She then proceeded to say she would let the manager know. I checked again to see if it was changed and it wasn't. The bartender proceeded to come out and RUDELY say she's working on it, the box is heavy and she was going to do it but she was working on sauce bottles. There's ways to talk to a customer and then there's ways NOT to talk to a customer and they are POOR at customer service to put it nicely. Food was good. Didn't take long to get our order. Had the brisket tacos which were delicious! Also had the burnt ends that were on top of grits. Very tasty but the grits were very lumpy. Had to try the smoked sausage which was real good as well but it's served with "pimento" cheese but it's more like cream cheese with pimientos than real pimento cheese. All in all it's worth a try. Honestly the food tasted like it was liquid smoke so I don't think they smoke their meat. The portions are incredibly small. $13 for burnt ends and didn't even get 10 pieces and they were hard. Burnt ends are nothing more than small cubes of predominantly fat. A tiny portion, way over-priced. Very disappointed with the place, will not be returning. Hard to imagine it surviving, offering such poor value for money. read more
