Today I experienced an extremely violent teeth cleaning. I had experiences with different dentists in both California and Washington. Dr. Tomar is the one that caused me the most pain and bleeding. Not just this time, but a few times. This will be my last time visiting this dentist. She was extremely impatient and careless during the process, ignoring my pain, did everything in a rush. Previously, I thought the pain was because she was just trying to clean my teeth very thoroughly as I saw all the 5 star reviews here. But she scratched around my gums really carelessly and violently and this level of pain and bleeding is very abnormal. I should have trusted my body's feelings and move away from this dentist much earlier. I can sense that she doesn't want me as a patient here. It's the best for both sides that I leave. It was a really traumatic experience, the damage of the violent scratches to the enamel is irreversible. She also scratched the back of my tongue, which I have never experienced in any other dental clinic. I had very good teeth and so have been getting only dental cleaning here, which doesn't bring her profits. I feel sorry for Dr. Tomar that she had to do this to push out a patient. After seeing the same dentist in Seattle for over 20 years, I decided it was finally time to switch to a local dentist. I'm very happy so far with my switch to Dr. Tomar! During my first visit I was impressed with the amount of time she took to get to know me and my dental history. Her care and patience immediately put me at ease. She immediately pointed out a chip my previous dentist had been aware of for years, and was concerned it might cause me trouble in the future. She suggested a composite and fixed it within two weeks. Dr. Meenakshi Tomar is an exceptional dentist. She is compassionate and skilled at her job. I have found all of her procedures (crowns, cavities, orthodonture, etc.) to be virtually pain-free. She and her hygienist Sharon make you feel welcome, comfortable, and are meticulous in following the most stringent COVID protocols so as to protect their patients. Dr. Tomar always makes herself available for unexpected, dental emergencies. I highly recommend her. By the way, the view of Puget Sound from the chair is quite lovely and relaxing. Very professional and clinically excellent , very friendly and personable , spend a good amount of time explaining things, excellent staff that has a good handle on insurance and communicates well, beautiful office right over the water so it's very relaxing to be there. I've been to multiple dentists throughout the past few years, and have never been very impressed with any of them. I decided to try Edmond's Bay Dental when my boyfriend recommended Dr. Tomar. I took a chance and tried it out today. I honestly had one of the best experiences at a dentist I have ever had, and not just because of the great view of the waterfront from the chair! Dr. Tomar listened to all my concerns and took a thorough evaluation of both my dental and health issues. She was very comforting, welcoming, and knowledgeable. As a 22 year old with many dental problems, she gave me hope that there were other solutions I could try.. compared to other dentists who immediately said I needed a root canal. Dr. Tomar is the best dentist I've ever had! She is as gentle as can be and is very good at reading nonverbal communication during procedures. Dr. Tomar and her assistant Sharon go above and beyond for a wonderful experience. Going to the dentist has never been on the top of my list for activities but I know I can totally trust them to provide me with the gentle care I need. She respects my wishes as far as the more natural approach to dentistry and I feel very comfortable in her chair. My husband and I have needed after hour emergency care in the past and she was super accommodating and never for one second made us feel bad about that (not like other dentists we've had in the past). She is prompt, always explains what she intends to do and is extremely careful to make sure I am comfortable throughout. She even came in on a Saturday morning after I accidentally chipped a tooth. I discovered this place online because of their amazing in-house benefit plan, a dental coverage option for people without dental insurance (the details are on their website, but it's an awesome plan at a very reasonable cost). Once I was there to sign up, I had the added benefit of meeting two incredibly friendly and personable young ladies. These ladies are Dr Tomar, the dentist, and Sharon, her assistant. That's the whole office! If you like small businesses, then this place is for you. Of course, the main problem with most small businesses is the high cost of service. Miraculously, that's not a problem here. I mean, it's dental work, so it's more expensive than groceries, but these are the lowest dental bills I've ever had. And did I mention the friendly and personable ladies? Sharon and Dr Tomar are wonderful! And even if you hate going to the dentist, you'll love their view of Puget Sound. Seriously, it's a staggeringly good view. Let that be the reason you initially go, and Dr Tomar will give you every reason to return. I can't recommend this place enough. read more
