Walking in, it was dimly lit & it reminded me of a bar Downtown in Tulsa. We found a table (the place got filled up pretty quick afterwards) caddy corner to the bar & we got help quick. My partner ordered the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, a friend of mine ordered some Truffle Fries & a drink that I didn't catch - as for me, I got the Ginger Beer (I don't drink). The Oaxacan Old Fashioned looked nice with the orange peel climbing out of the glass & had a really good aroma (I took a big whiff of it). The ginger beer was a spicy ginger beer & it was really good. With every sip, it was opening up my nostrils, it had some spice to it for sure. I tried my friend's Truffle Fries & it's something I'd order, especially if I wasn't as hungry & wanted a "snack". You can smell the truffle while the taste was real subtle. All in all, the place was chill. It was a nice wind down from leaving an art show & The Collective (I had no clue it turned into a clubbish scene on a Saturday... they were jammin' that night). My friend was a regular there, the individual who served us was super nice & friendly. There was whole menu to explore full of sandwiches, burgers (I want to try the South West Burger along with the Umami Burger) & all kind of other dishes to choose from. As much as I come down to OKC, I still get familiar with the scene more & more - R&J is added to the list of places that I'd return to. Side Note: A friend of my friend stopped by right before my partner & I left. She ordered the Brussel Sprouts and Bacon & in my head, I dove into her plate before she could.

A name fit for a king, Rad Bar is definitely it. I travel the country for a living and on this particular day I was fortunate to have a business meeting just down the street. Work done, it was now time to unwind. Enter Rad Bar. Entering the limo tinted doors, I see lights and art, I hear golden era hip hop, and feel a whole lotta good vibes. Divey for sure but this wasn't just an ordinary dive bar. Take a look up and you'll spot bar decor and collectibles all just awesome as the drink specials and the beer menu. But the buck doesn't stop at the beer. Cocktails are served and while the drinks are mixed and poured, the best and most diverse music plays across the speakers. While I hung out for a couple hours I learned that Rad Bar hosts guest DJ's, bands and other unique events. For context, I was born and raised in Koreatown Los Angeles, thousands of miles from home but within minutes of entering the doors and meeting Jo Jo at the bar, her welcoming energy made me feel at home. You get the feeling that the folks running this joint really enjoy what they do. That they care about giving the community something to call home. A place where all can feel welcome. I got that feeling.

This was only a short walk from downtown, and featured a lively bar, decorated with charming Christmas odds and ends. The bar featured a large selection of what looked like 100 beer options, and I was pleased that they had a few gluten-free beer options for myself. It was very cold outside, down to about 18 degrees, so we went up to the 2nd story patio (i'm happy to report they had an easily usable elevator for myself and my powerchair), and that the tables were setup with fire pits in the center to warm us up. This was a nice detour and is a great spot to grab a beer if you're visiting downtown.

We were a party of four friends, visiting for an evening of drinks and conversation last Friday. We…read moresat ourselves and the waitress was very friendly. She reluctantly explained the QR ordering system (sounds like she's heard complaints about this before) and brought us Singo cards as well as a little lamp for the table. That's the end of what went well. From there we all placed our orders: 3 mixed drinks including my "tipsy water" and a beer. The tipsy water is their version of a classic ranch water (3 ingredients - Blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, and Topo Chico). Their menu confirmed these are the ingredients of their "tipsy water". When our drinks arrived, I took the first sip of my drink and it was awful! It tasted like pure salt, missing carbonation, and tasted NOTHING like a ranch water. I had my friends all taste it as well to ensure it wasn't just me. They all agreed that this did not taste as it should and recommended I send it back (which I have never done with a drink before in my life). The waitress was so sweet to oblige and took my drink back to the bar from our table. She returned with an other tipsy water which tasted the exact same. She asked if it tasted better and I unfortunately had to say no. I had already thought about what I'd order instead, a standard vodka and Diet Coke (easy to not mess up) but wasn't given that opportunity. Instead our very kind waitress told me that the "manager" "bartender" had instructed her to not tell me, but she refused to make us anymore mixed drinks. No explanation. My husband asked to have the manager come to our table. Haley (the name given) arrived at the table and we introduced ourselves. I shared that my drink did not taste like any ranch water I've had before. She stated that several other customers had not had an issue with their drinks that night. I asked if she'd said she wouldn't make us anymore mixed drinks. She said she had not said that. I shared that the waitress had told us that and then Haley said, "did you hear those words come out of my mouth". I asked her if she was calling our very kind and pregnant waitress a liar? Haley then confrontationally asked if we wanted to have the waitress come over and say that in front of her. Of course I said, no! I would not be responsible for her getting in trouble for sharing the truth. The next part was the truly unbelievable. Haley then proceeded to reveal that she'd made the drink but they were out of Topo Chico, which no one had shared beforehand. I have no idea what they substituted for that crucial ingredient, but it was awful. Haley defended herself, the drink, and her comment and finally revealed she didn't even make the drink correctly. The entire interaction Haley was escalating the situation versus diffusing, as a manager should do. I finished by asking who the manager was. Haley said she was. I asked who the owner was. Haley said she was. I informed Haley I'd be leaving a review then and we would be leaving. We paid and left the tip in cash for our sweet waitress (who I hope received it). It was a truly shocking encounter. We left and determined not to let Haley ruin our night, found another bar and had several well made ranch waters. We will never return to this bar.

We aren't in the Capitol Hill area often so when our friend was in town from out of state and staying in Moore, we knew this was the perfect chance since it was nearly equal distance between his hotel and our apartment. The not-so-great: 1) parking situation needs work. It's really hard to get around the small parking lot in the back when it's busy. It seems like an accident waiting to happen. I was completely sober and was having a hard time navigating around the large vehicles that were parked all over. 2) it is really hard to find with just a tiny sign outside.
